I came back home for the annual Georgetown Oyster Eat. A buddy suggested that I check out this newer local bbq place just outside of town. So I took my mother here for dinner tonight. I would be a regular here for sure if I still lived here. Upon entering, we were pleasantly greeted and told we could sit anywhere. We walked to the back area and sat down at a picnic table. We ordered soda and corn pone. The pone is a wet cornbread that was delicious. I wanted to order more but knew we had a big meal ahead of us. I ordered the Cuban sandwich (ham, Swiss, pickles and pulled pork) along with Mac and cheese. My mother ordered the pulled pork platter with beans and Mac and cheese. We were both able to finish our dinner but are stuffed as I write this review. I highly recommend the Cuban sandwich! There was two different types of bbq sauce on the table...one spicier and one sweeter. I do wish these were labeled but I was able to try both of them and then decide. The owner was walking around to ensure everyone was happy which was appreciated. The service was great and we never had to wait for anything. This place is highly recommended and will definitely be a place I visit each time I am in town. read more

After a day trip from Philly to Cape May then a ferry ride over to Lewes, we couldn't decide on seafood or BBQ as our dinner. We knew we had to make it back to Philly so opted to try some BBQ along the way (out of the way), thank goodness it was in my way! This was by far some of the best BBQ that I've had in a very long time and the best BBQ that I've had since moving back to the east coast. We rolled in about 7pm and ordered two sweet teas and a brisket and rib combo with 4 sides, and an order of corn muffins. Our side choices were collard greens, baked beans, and a double side of Mac n cheese. Holy f***** cow! For $35.99 there is no way you could go wrong with this. It was a hefty portion of food, so much that the two of us ate and we took half of the food home (yes, 2 hours all the way back to Philly) for dinner tomorrow. Not only was the good excellent the entire restaurant was nice and polite .... a far fetch from the attitudes we get in Philly. 110 miles each way ... lets put it this way, we will be back read more

How could I have ever forgot to write this review???? It sure wasn't due to not enjoying my food, quite the contrary. I decided to take the drive in search of some quality bbq, and after a 40 minute drive from Salisbury this place showed on Yelp. It is very easy to find as it is located off a main road and they have signs leading up to wear to turn. Think of a fruit stand that you can see as you approach. I ordered ALOT of food to carry me the entire weekend and to taste a bit of everything. I ordered a cheeseburger kids meal to enjoy while there for lunch, and a 3 meat combo plate to include: ribs, brisket and pulled pork. For my sides I ordered baked beans and turnip greens. The cheeseburger slides was fabulous, flavorful, juicy, and greasy how I like and the portion of hand cut fries were enough that I was well satisfied and full off the kids meal. The entire order carried me through Sunday to discuss portions which were good and plentiful. The brisket was the star of the show for me, fatty in all the right places, juicy, and a nice flavoring. The greens you can't tell me aren't shipped from Mississippi and I would order a pint next time as they were big, leafy, fresh, and packed with flavor I'm thinking smoked turkey and/or ham hocks. The baked beans were your homemade no canned beans here and I want to say had some crumbles of sausage in them, they were sweet with a slight kick. Hi typically only like St Louis ribs but they only offer baby backs. The ribs were tender, meaty and dry rubbed nice to where I didn't even need the sauce. The only thing I would not order again would be the pulled pork as it was dry, stringy, and just sweet nothing impressive about it. I will surely be back thinking I'll go the end of this month, hopefully they have desserts by then. read more

We are in the process of moving to OC and Bridgeville and have been searching high and low for a good bbq place. We have been disappointed at every one until now. This is authentic, lick your fingers, great bbq! Yes, it is a dive type environment, but in my book, that is part of its charm. Everything was wonderful: good service, delicious lemonade, perfect ribs, wonderful pulled pork, great brisket. And sides were super too: a surprisingly well put together salad, delicious beans, good cole slaw, potato salad, mac and cheese, and collard greens. I've been coming to Fat Daddy's for almost ten years. They never disappoint. Check the hours before you go, because they are only open Thursday to Sunday and NOT open late. Jeff is a self-taught smoker with his own recipes for his seasonings. Close your eyes and you'd swear that you were in NC. The pulled pork is definitely Eastern NC style. Jeff's version has more heat than some I've had. The brisket is well done, although it is more pulled than sliced. Good flavor and a nice smoke ring. The sides are standard fare for a typical roadside joint in NC. My most recent visit was Feb 25, 2023. I had the combo platter with pulled pork and brisket. My sides were fries and cole slaw (gotta have slaw on pork BBQ, right?). The beer was cold, and my belly was full when I left. I got a pound of brisket to go on the way out the door. I've had BBQ in OCMD recently, at well known places. They can't hold a candle to Fat Daddy's. In one of the bars, I ordered a NC style pulled pork sandwich, and it came slathered in an orange sauce. WTF was THAT? Pass on those spots and head to Fat Daddy's BBQ, on DE-18 couple miles west of Georgetown. You'll be glad you did. It's BBQ worth the drive! read more

This was a most enjoyable experience. Fat Daddy himself came out to our table and greeted us. The food and atmosphere were excellent. I enjoyed a Cuban, my girl had the pulled pork, girls sister had ribs and her friend had two meat platter of sausage and chicken. Everything was outstanding except I felt the ribs were a little dry. Randomly stumbled upon this great BBQ place on the way out of Ocean City. It is on the side of the road but we saw the reviews on it and decided to give it a go anyways. Let me just say that everyone was so glad we did stop by and I think everyone has to stop here. The prices are really inexpensive too. Our waitress was extremely attentive and sweet. I got the beef brisket platter with a side of green beans (attempt to be healthy after almost a week at the beach) and potato salad. The beef brisket was so amazing, it was soft and flavorful. The potato salad was also really delicious but I could've done without the green beans.. they were a little too soft for my liking. I also got a bite of my friends' pulled pork and that was really good too as well as the mac n cheese. There was an extra basket of fries that they had given us - on the house. All righty folks sadly to say the food here was a bust. I paid over $20 for a so called slab of ribs and they must have forgotten the other half. Even worse then the short amount of ribs was the baked beans. Can't say to much about the place except disappointment when it came to the food. Wow. Been to quite a bit of bbq places. Hands down the best. I was in the area about 18 months ago and found this place. Must have made an impression on me because I remebered it. Glad I came back. We always pass by this place on the way to the shore ( not the beach!!). First off the owner actually comes and talks to you and recognizes you are new. The food was fantastic!! Brisket wonderful , my husband said the pulled pork was amazing! Definitely will stop here on our next trip down. Side were great - best baked beans we ever had and great coleslaw. This is one of the few places right off the highway. Food was decent. The brisket was really nice and tender. I highly recommend the brisket, but the ribs and collard greens were not as good. Service was ok-we sat on the patio, so we actually went inside to pay the check. The collard greens lacked flavor and just didn't taste amazing. The baked beans on the other hand were really good. The bathroom was absolutely terrible...no toilet paper and the toilet seat looked like it went through a war. Literally I do not understand why they don't change it. read more

This is a small local joint with lots of charm. They are near Delaware Tech so sure the College kids love this place. They do have outdoor and indoor seating, however since it was a bit chilly, we sat inside. Immediately greeted with a hello and a very friendly server, we sat and looked through the menu. We decided on the Pit Beef Sandwich and the North Carolina Pulled Pork Sandwich and opted for the combo (which came with a side and a drink). A short time later, our meal was on the table. The Pulled Pork was tender, juicy, and topped with very good coleslaw. They have 2 types of BBQ sauce made "in house" a spicy, kinda smokey, sweet one and a similar one without the heat. Both were very good. The Pit Beef sandwich was a good sized portion and the collard greens were very well seasoned and good. What is always important when I have BBQ, is the bun. It was soft, yet held up to the meat in it. Also, I didn't like the sweet tea too much, it wasn't strong enough and didn't taste fresh, but the rest of my experience is a good solid 4. Want to like this place, but so far not impressed with the food. Ate in for first visit. The baked beans were really good, but I did not enjoy the pulled pork sandwich. Decided to give them a second try for takeout after reading good reviews about their cheeseburgers. We were disappointed due to the odd-tasting spices added to the meat. If it wasn't for those spices, it would have been our favorite burger in the area, because it was juicy and had a nice homemade texture. Maybe they think they should add spices because it's a BBQ joint, but we would have liked it so much better without them. We wish them much success, but we'll continue elsewhere in our quest for a great cheeseburger. read more
