If you're looking for that down home country feel when eating out Southern Grill in Seaford is the place for you. They have scratch made food made to order and friendly service. Make sure you have your mask with you to enter the restaurant to follow the States COVID-19 guidelines. The food we ordered was good. I enjoyed the liver and onions, the mashed potatoes had a bit to much sour cream in them but overall they were good and creamy. The collard greens were pretty decent and properly cooked. My daughter ordered the fried oysters they were good but could have been fried just a bit longer. Overall her meal was good. I would return to this location and give it another try. Our service was great the waitresses had her hands full with a full house and only her taking orders and waiting tables. I wish I could remember her name and give her a shout out for her spectacular service. She was definitely juggling the tables and making it work! As a fan of Jimmy's Grill just up the highway, I am familiar with it's parentage. I also know that once Jimmy stuck everyone holding the bag, closed Southern Grill to opened Jimmy's Grill. Jimmy, now, is long gone from Jimmy's Grill and said to be whipping up SOS inside the big house. So when I saw the name of this place I thought the parole board might have put him back in the kitchen. There is definitely a relationship though I am not sure what it is. The menu and offerings and the style of service, servers eating in the kitchen and down to the flies is a great reminder of the old Southern Grill. This place is small but the food was as awesome as Jimmy's is now and maybe cheaper. I forgot about this little gem. My husband and I decided to sneak out for breakfast. At first we went to IHOP but they were closed. I then remembered this spot and sure enough they were open. My husband is not from this area so he told me, "why didn't you tell me about this place?!" The food was awesome. The pancakes were huge and eggs were fried to perfection. I love this restaurant. Its tiny and cozy The help fills like home. They bring my ice tea before I order it!. I am crazy about their Country Fried Chicken Breast. It has gotten smaller but it tastes the same. I always get corn pudding! The rolls are like old time rolls. I can't make them as good, and it makes me mad! I miss Jimmy very much. Stopped here for breakfast due to the great reviews. We sampled the eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. I would like to say they were all delicious. However, they were okay, good enough that I might try it again for another meal if I was in the area, but not special enough for me to go out of my way to go there again for breakfast. I would have preferred the pancakes with real maple syrup, instead of the corn syrup version. The reason I might try it again for another meal is that it seems to be a homemade-style place with desserts and other items that are made on premises, so I would be willing to give it another try.
