Service can be slow so dont be in a hurry. It's homemade food not fast food. A $6 breakfast is well worth it. Homemade cakes and pies are on display and are delicious. They are located on Rt13 across from 7-11. Its a hidden gem. read more

Quaint local diner. We walked there from our hotel. Great young waitress! The food was delicious!

If you're looking for that down home country feel when eating out Southern Grill in Seaford is the place for you. They have scratch made food made to order and friendly service. Make sure you have your mask with you to enter the restaurant to follow the States COVID-19 guidelines. The food we ordered was good. I enjoyed the liver and onions, the mashed potatoes had a bit to much sour cream in them but overall they were good and creamy. The collard greens were pretty decent and properly cooked. My daughter ordered the fried oysters they were good but could have been fried just a bit longer. Overall her meal was good. I would return to this location and give it another try. Our service was great the waitresses had her hands full with a full house and only her taking orders and waiting tables. I wish I could remember her name and give her a shout out for her spectacular service. She was definitely juggling the tables and making it work! Anyway I would definitely hit this place again and you should give them a try. read more

My favorite place to go when that meatloaf craving hits, also I bought carrot cake for a family member here ( I dont eat it) and they loved it too! read more

Everything is homemade. How do I know? My waitress told me whenever I asked a question. If she said it one more time I was going to ask her to marry me. Meatloaf was super. I had it the way they make it. Gravy and ketchup. She said it was homemade. Mashed potatoes were good. She said they are homemade. Corn fritters we delightful. They came out looking like pancakes but were awesome. They were homemade. She pleasantly stops by on the proper cadence to see how I'm doing. I asked about desserts. Guess what? They're homemade!!! Forgot about the rolls. They came out first. Homemade. And the the little solo cup of strawberry jam. Don't make me say it.......HOMEMADE!!!! read more

A great little spot off of the beaten track. Start with one of their desserts, you won't be disappointed and u never know, there might be a fire drill. Serve muskrat as well. read more

Sorry I can't go higher for this iteration of the local southern eatery family tree. The good: yeast rolls, limas and dumplings, sweet potato soufflé, and corn pudding. The bad: broiled crabcake. Mushy and devoid of lump crabmeat (or anything close to it). Very disappointed after seeing raves for the crab cakes from other Yelpers. read more

Food is great they give you every penny's worth you spend and then some. Great staff as well

A small place, with unbelievably delicious desserts (lots to choose from) and an extensive food menu, full of homemade comfort food!! We've been here a couple times since stumbling upon it, the meatloaf was AMAZING, their gravy and collards are wonderful, the pork chops are out of this world! Tried desserts that were so great, on our way through right now, and stopping again! read more

As a fan of Jimmy's Grill just up the highway, I am familiar with it's parentage. I also know that once Jimmy stuck everyone holding the bag, closed Southern Grill to opened Jimmy's Grill. Jimmy, now, is long gone from Jimmy's Grill and said to be whipping up SOS inside the big house. So when I saw the name of this place I thought the parole board might have put him back in the kitchen. There is definitely a relationship though I am not sure what it is. The menu and offerings and the style of service, servers eating in the kitchen and down to the flies is a great reminder of the old Southern Grill. This place is small but the food was as awesome as Jimmy's is now and maybe cheaper. I would love to come back and try some of the other offerings as I had eggs, scapple and fantastic hash browns. read more

Good home cooking. Decent prices and service. Chef salad is the best. Real meat not lunch meat and it more than enough for two.

While visiting my inlaws who recently retired in nearby Bridgeville, we decided to stop in and have lunch. The food was amazing. The fish platters, sandwich, and breakfasts options are all great. The best part was far and away the homemade soups and pies. The place was packed which is a good sign, but the wait staff was great. Highly recommend. (Only knock against this place is that it is a pepsi establishment) read more

We stopped in on our way home. We were served our ice tea. Our waitress came to take our order. My fiance ordered a cheeseburger. I ordered the 4 PC fried chicken with collards and mac n cheese. The waitress informed me of a 20 min wait., because they don't like having it sitting around. I love they said that because I don't want to eat chicken that has been sitting around. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. The was a very good dining experience. read more

We really enjoyed our meal! We will def return! Coffee and pancakes especially delicious!

Was passing thru town and saw the good yelp reviews so we stopped for an early dinner. The service was great. The food was not great. I was expecting simple, diner style home cooking. Things just didn't have great flavor and didn't seem like home cooking at all. read more

Wow, Southern grill is My favorite place to eat . From breakfast, pancakes to die for, scrapple not deep fried & the portions are unbaleavable to dinner southern cooking, collared greens with bacon, Liam bean soup to liver and onions, biggest peaces of chicken you can't imagine. Best breakfast we've had in a long time. This place has great food. The scrapple was really good along w cream chipped beef. They served pretty sunny side eggs perfectly! The waitress was this adorable sweet young lady who seemed to keep everyone pleased. I also had fried bologna w my eggs. It's a really think cut. Portions are ridiculously huge, I'll be on the elliptical for days, but well worth it. read more

I forgot about this little gem. My husband and I decided to sneak out for breakfast. At first we went to IHOP but they were closed. I then remembered this spot and sure enough they were open. My husband is not from this area so he told me, "why didn't you tell me about this place?!" The food was awesome. The pancakes were huge and eggs were fried to perfection. Our server Laura was sweet and knowledge about the menu. The order came out fast. WE WILL NEVER GO TO IHOP AGAIN. Great food. Stellar prices. This is going to be our new spot. read more

THANK YOU YELP!!!! You helped me locate an amazing Southern food restaurant that can't be missed. Right on 13 in Sussex De. You will find the freshest seafood and nicest staff you can imagine. Loved the crab cake sandwich and my husband raved about the seafood delight with fresh fish and Juicy shrimp. For the price of fast food you can have super down home cooking with all the fixings. I love this restaurant. Its tiny and cozy The help fills like home. They bring my ice tea before I order it!. I am crazy about their Country Fried Chicken Breast. It has gotten smaller but it tastes the same. I always get corn pudding! The rolls are like old time rolls. I can't make them as good, and it makes me mad! I miss Jimmy very much. I am so glad they are carrying on his way of cooking. I hope they do not veer off to a different style of cooking. I hope they are a great success in Federalsburg! I wish the whole staff would transfer there, but then the folks in Seaford would be left out of a fantastic crew! May Jimmy rest in Peace! I will never go back to that Bridgeville Restaurant again. jimmy's HEART WAS LEFT IN THE SOUTHERN GRILL. read more

Love the food and the service. Home cooked meals... Best deal in town is the big, delicious piece of fried fish in the fish taco.

I love the breakfast here! Great prices, and the hash browns are delicious- although greasy- but hey it's not called southern for nothing. I have only had dinner here three times and it was very decent but not as good as their breakfast. read more

Stopped here for breakfast due to the great reviews. We sampled the eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. I would like to say they were all delicious. However, they were okay, good enough that I might try it again for another meal if I was in the area, but not special enough for me to go out of my way to go there again for breakfast. I would have preferred the pancakes with real maple syrup, instead of the corn syrup version. The reason I might try it again for another meal is that it seems to be a homemade-style place with desserts and other items that are made on premises, so I would be willing to give it another try. I like to give my business to establishments that care enough about the quality of their food to serve dishes that they prepare themselves with quality ingredients. read more
