Awesome restaurant for good BBQ. Sides are decent too. Their mission is supporting the troops and I think that's one most of us can get behind. Good assortment of flavorful sauces and juicy, nicely smoked meats. They recently started serving beer, so that's always a plus (in my book). The freedom fries and green beans are fantastic and you can't go wrong with any of the meats. Sometimes they have a mystery sandwich, or a Texas tower or a black plate special (whatever it might be) you just have to ask about it. Love this place! read more

Our family went to Mission BBQ right it when first opened years ago, but I hadn't been back until today. I'll probably wait another few years until my next visit. Visited today during the tail end of the lunch rush and was met with team member that could best be described as "gruff." I was a little confused about ordering the "brisket" vs. "the brisket sandwich" under the menu listing of "sandwiches." Still not 100% sure what I ordered, it showed up as the chopped brisket sandwich on my receipt. I also included the macaroni & cheese and a drink for an "XL Combo." I went to grab my drink and it was Pepsi products--I almost took a star off from my rating due to that alone. The order was ready super fast, which I appreciated. Sat down at a booth and got to work trying a few sauces that were available at the table. They all have a bit of a story and narrative to them, but I think I'd just be okay with basics "Sweet - Hot - Tangy" You get the idea. The macaroni & cheese was decent, I'd probably rate that a 3.5 by itself. The chopped brisket sandwich was bad. The bun was not good, maybe even a tad stale and the actual components of the chopped brisket was very poor, a solid 1. 1 or 2 of the sauces were okay, but nothing that was really impressive. All of this for a meal that rang in just shy of $15.00. I appreciate the mission of Mission BBQ, but I didn't come away super impressed. You can get much higher quality brisket, better sides, and impressive sauces in the area that are completely local. I probably won't be back. read more

Had for lunch today. We had turkey, brisket, pulled pork,Mac and cheese with baked beans. Everything was delicious and hot. The lady that waited on us was very nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend. read more

Had the pulled pork , Mac and cheese and green beans. Mac was hot and pork was moist. Delicious. Guy that took our order was super nice. The older gentleman who came to our table to offer to get stuff for us was great. We could tell he was a veteran by just the way he held himself. Just a great visit. PS try the Alabama Sauce on your pork and even the fries. Tasty. Love Mission read more

Good value for the money - the food is pretty good. The ribs are my favorite -overall I would recommend.

Ordered take-out while staying at a local resort with our family. Great food, great value (but no utensils) The green beans were the favorite! I ordered the Salmon (1st time doing that from a BBQ joint lol) and it was delicious! Nice portion and not dry. Would definitely recommend over pricey resort dining. read more

Had Mission BBQ for the first time last week it was yummy. We had an order of beef brisket, pulled chicken, half chicken and ribs. They were all very good. It was a lot of food for a decent price. Service was friendly. The only downside was the value on the pint of Mac and cheese we ordered. We loved it, just wasn't very much for the price. We will get takeout from here again. read more

I just finished enjoying an excellent meal at Mission BBQ. Everyone was good! Especially the brisket and peach cobbler. Also they have the best staff! Great ambiance! If you're looking for good BBQ I highly recommend this place! Enjoy read more

Love the idea!! Food is good, Service is great! Only negative is the Carolina Sauce isn't even close to the sauce I grew up eating in North and South Carolina!!! read more

We're from out of town and don't have one of these nearby. But had seen them on Fox and Friends awhile ago. My son decided he wanted to go here for his bday. It was amazing. Even though my son wanted a ribeye and was told the prime rib was ribeye (we didn't know) he didn't care. The staff were top notch. The food was great. And it was just nice to support a business that places the mission first. Please build one in Indianapolis so we can visit more often often! read more

This place was fantastic. I love the concept and the food was great. At noon everyone set up and sang the national anthem and it really touched my heart. I got a little teary. Then they came around and gave free little pudding dessert to everyone that was there for the anthem. I'm not usually in Mason but if I ever come back up here this is definitely where I'm going to eat. read more

I love going to Mission BBQ! This place was no different. The only downside is that I needed a nap afterwards. I was welcomed as soon as I arrived by a friendly host. She suggested the brisket sandwich and it was totally worth it! I got it with the sauce on it and added a little more. Complimented it with the Maggie's Mac and cheese. Every Mission BBQ has a story. Make sure and learn what it is for this one. I had the lemonade to drink. I wish I had pictures of the food because it was awesome. I would definitely go back. read more

This was our first visit to a Mission BBQ restaurant. We were highly impressed. Our family of 4 got three types of meat and 5 types of sides. Everything was amazing with the small exception of the Chicken (Half bird) which was a bit overcooked and dry. However the flavors of the food made up for even that. The staff was ultra friendly and helpful. Our family loved trying all the different sauces. We are not local and just stopped by while out shopping. But we would be willing to make the 45 minute drive to just have dinner here again! Can't wait for our next visit to try some other new flavors. read more

Mission BBQ - Barbeque Near Me - Mason, Ohio

My husband loves barbecue so we try anything new. Mission is delicious. It's a similar concept to City Barbecue where you pay at a register and pick your table. We carried out though - brisket, pork, green beans and cornbread and loved all of it. The brisket is available sliced or chopped and lean or moist (i.e. fattier.) We got the chopped and a mix of lean and moist. I'd probably just get lean next time as it was hard to get the fat off the chopped pieces and all the brisket was already moist enough. Pork was also delicious and moist and the green beans were seasoned well. The cornbread that comes with each meal was moist and sweet. My husband was impressed with the abundance of sauces to choose from (about 10.) We're just sad this restaurant isn't closer to home for us! read more

Everything was great!! Customer service amazing!!! Especially Tito!! The food was delicious. Hopeful to get a restaurant close to my hometown. read more

There was four of us having lunch here. It's unusual to find a place where everyone in your group is completely satisfied with their meal; however, that was the case here. Two people ordered the turkey, they said it was very tasty and moist. My daughter ordered ribs, she said they were fall off the bone delicious. I ordered the pulled pork, it was also very good. There is a good selection of sides, all of which was good. Highly recommend this place. read more

Stopped by for lunch and what a hit! Had the pulled pork sandwich and some fries. Great flavor and very tender. I am usually skeptical of new BBQ places but my husband wanted to give it a try and it was a home run. Even the fries were good. They tasted fresh and seasoned just right. Oh, and they do play the national anthem at noon!!!!! I'll be going back soon!!! read more

We ordered a carry out for a small get together with friends so got a variety of meats (ribs, chicken and mild sausage) and green beans, coleslaw, baked beans and macaroni and cheese. Everything was fresh, hot and packaged well. My friends loved the food. So happy I made this choice. Only negative is we did not receive the amount of cornbread we thought we would for the amount of food. Just 2 small pieces. Will definitely be back. read more

Great menu and pricing. The indoor seating is pleasant and roomy. Parking is easy and service is quick. They support veterans and first responders and run great specials. read more

I ate here for the first time today. Amazing brisket - SO tender. They have two choices for brisket; I chose the drier one and am happy that I did. No fat needed to be trimmed off, and it was nicely moist and tasty. The sausage was good enough, but I was hoping for better. Really good baked beans. Green beans generously seasoned with onion and bacon. The cornbread tasted good, but was dry. I would prefer a plate. Paper on a tray just isn't practical with barbecue sauce. read more

I was shocked when I first visited Mission BBQ, it was during lunch and as I approached to order, I was told they couldn't take my order yet because they were about to sing the national anthem. Then the entire restaurant (staff and employees) stopped what they were doing to listen to the national anthem. What I'm told is they do this every day at noon - pretty impressive! The food is also impressive! They've got all the classic BBQ meats along with a number of great sides. Service was quick even though the place was packed. read more

Just ok as far as BBQ. The brisket was chewy and didn't seem to be cooked long enough to get that nice smoked flavor. The pulled chicken as about the same really not much to write home about. The chicken was lacking a good sauce to complete it. I tried the Nashville hot but it had a very vinegar taste that wasn't to my liking. I don't think this is a bad restaurant by any means the service was great I just wasn't impressed by the food. read more

Food is delicious! Been here several times, but if you're getting takeout, watch out. After a 15 minute drive I had one bag break open on the driveway. The containers were fine so I kept going in fear of the second bag breaking open- which it did right on the kitchens hardwood floor. Thank goodness it wasn't on the carpet because we had baked beans spilled everywhere. Also had some juice that leaked in the car trunk. My car is pretty old but I'd be upset if I was driving a nicer car and had to clean up a stain. Again, the quality is outstanding! But please figure out a better solution for packaging your food. Triple bag If you have too. Next time I'll definitely have my hand under the bag but that won't work for long given how hot the food is. read more

The new Mission Barbecue in Mason is a great new addition to Mason. It is far ahead of City Barbecue & Dickey's. We love your patriotic vibe! My husband had a pulled pork sandwich that was piled high, along with baked beans & green beans. ⁣And I had a brisket sandwich with mac & cheese, & peach cobbler, yum. ⁣They have 6 different kinds of barbecue sauces to choose from!⁣⁣ Love the respect they're showing to veterans. read more

Tasty food (highly recommend mac n cheese as the side) and excellent service from the employees. Win all around!

Stopped in for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We walked in and we're greeted by the staff. They were helpful for us since it was our first visit. We upgraded our drinks to the refillable cups. Food was great, it came out quickly. Paul, the dining room host, was very friendly and offered suggestions for the sauces. Highly recommend, we might even go back tomorrow before we leave town. read more

Maybe was just an off day but we were not impressed with meat my brisket was dry there was no juice or fat in it at all. But they do give you a large portion. We also tried brisket burger which was interesting. But the star of show was the sides the fries had great flavor, the Mac and cheese was great , the potato salad had a kick and seemed like might have been smoked too. I love that they appreciate the armed forces and veterans that alone is a good reason to give it a try. read more

Second time we have eaten here recently. Last time I had the pulled pork, this time the spareribs. Plus a couple sides (beans and potato salad), corn bread and banana pudding for dessert. Nice selection of six different BBQ sauces at the tables, plus a roll of paper towels. Self-serve drinks. Everything tasted great. Military theme and veteran-friendly (e.g. discounts) Customer service is outstanding--they really care about you having a nice experience here. We will be returning often. read more

We made our first visit to MB on a rainy Saturday evening around 6pm. They were very busy, but we still found a table. It's a typical BBQ restaurant layout. Walk in the door, wait in line for an open register, place your order, one of you grabs a table, and the other waits for their name to be called. Food is served on brown paper on an aluminum tray. Plastic squirt bottles of six different sauces are on each table along with a roll of paper towels. My wife ordered the Pulled Pork (1/2 lb) Combo of one side of Mac n Chz plus a fountain drink for $10.79. I had a 2 Meat Sampler of 1/4 lb Pulled Pork and 1/4 lb Brisket for $9.19. The Brisket choices are "lean" or "moist" - of which I chose moist, of course. I also ordered 5 Baby Back Ribs for $11.49 for us to share. (You can also order individual Ribs by the bone.) The Pulled Pork was moist and had good flavor. The Ribs were heavily smoked as seen by them being pink all the way to the bone. They were fall-off-the bone tender, but I would have preferred a bit less smoke for a bit more moisture. My wife said the Ribs tasted more like cottage ham, than BBQ Ribs. The "moist" brisket was indeed more moist than most Cincinnati-area briskets, but was not as juicy as top quality Texas brisket. (I was spoiled by having eaten at one of best BBQ joints in the country.) Each order of meat came with a square of corn bread, which was slightly sweet and a bit dry and crumbly - but I helped it along with a squirt of BBQ sauce. Overall, the food was very good and we had plenty of leftovers. Plus the staff was very friendly. I give it 4 stars for being one of the better BBQ restaurants in the area. read more
