lunch time! (5/2/23)
Tricia G.

I was without lunch and needed something close by - enter MISSION BBQ! I had a pulled chicken sandwich with a small container of sweet BBQ atop. Pretty tender meat but a meh bun - could've been fresher. Since it was my first visit, the cashier gave me a coupon card for a free future sandwich! Ill be back for that!

Pick up order.... 2 orders of the 3 meat platters, and 2 quarts of sides. Baby back ribs were so soft. Falling off the bones. Sooo good. Pull chicken was awesome. Pull pork is also good but I like pull chicken more. Briskets was soft and tasty. Sausages were a bit hard and salty. Cole slaw was crunchy. Mac and cheese was cheesy! My daughter approved. Service was awesome. The pick up person at the cashier was pleasant. Asked what sauces I want. Being the first timer, I said why don't you pick for me. He said just take one of everything....haha, sure! Will definitely return!

Quaint eatery. Loved the food and the themed based BBQ restaurant that honored servicemen and women. Restaurant offered several different varieties of BBQ sauce. The ones I tried were really good. Fries were amazing and wait staff were friendly and so nice. Highly recommended. You could order just the meat or a meal which included sides and drink. There were several different sides to choose from. When in the area will definitely be back.

Always a good meal and great service. Plenty of selections for everyone to choose from. Great smoky flavor on all the meats, and a wide variety of sauces to dip in. Food is very fresh and tasty. Warm and inviting inside and outdoor seating when the weather's nice.

I don't even know where to begin. While I'm 2+ hours away from home for work related reasons I decided to checkout Mission BBQ. The smell of BBQ when you walk up is amazing! As I walk up to the counter I'm greeted by two cashiers earlier (didn't their names but they were both very pleasant)! They were very patient and answered all of my questions. They even gave me a dessert and sandwich on the house since it was my first time Also a shoutout to the manager that pulled around to ask how my food was as I was eating Big fan of the pulled pork. It's good on it's own but you need to throw some bbq sauce to complete it! I'd say my favorite item was the dessert they gave (I want to say it was butter cake but not 100% sure) Overall I'm overly pleased with my lunch as well as the INCREDIBLE service and would come back again on the future!

I did take out for dinner while on a business trip. The restaurant is clean, easy to find, and had plenty of parking. The food was good. I ordered the 3 meat sampler and chose beef brisket, pulled pork, and pork spare ribs. The beef brisket was a little dry and could use more flavor on the outer bark. But they did make it tender and it had a decent smoke ring on the slices. The pulled pork looked good, but was a little mushy. The flavor was good and did not need any sauce to enhance flavor, but it's mushiness did get to me. The pork spare ribs looked overcook and dry, but was surprisingly tender (pulled off the bone), had moist in the middle ribs, and had an amazing taste on the bark. It also did not need any sauce to enhance the flavor. Sweet tea was good and cornbread was tasty and moist. I would go back and try the baby back ribs, Turkey and maybe chicken since I am a certified BBQ judge for KCBS. Their sauces were pretty good, too. I like the Kansas City best.

I LOVE Mission BBQ. After trying them at a wedding show (of all places, right?), I've fell in love. Until recently, the closest Mission BBQ was a good 30 minutes away - which I still made work, but I'm so happy to have one closer. My favorite things about Mission BBQ: - Their Food - it's amazing! Try the brisket. - Their Mission - they do a great job at giving back and engaging with the local community. Check out their website for more details on how amazing this company is. - Seasonal Specials- I love that they switch out menu items and desserts. My personal favorite is the peach cobbler in the summertime. But my absolute favorite part of Mission BBQ is their catering. They're so easy to work with and they have super affordable catering options. Oh, and the homemade chips are delicious too.

We dined on their beautiful patio, amongst flowers, and a very pretty water view and breezes :) The food was stellar! The menu still had what I loved prior - chicken stuffed avocados! They tweaked it a bit - no longer three big halves; but two, plus grapes (ick - not my thing - like eyeballs lol!) and pita bread (no carbs for me at night - I didn't eat). I also had probably THE BEST CAESAR SALAD I've EVER HAD! And wow, have I had a lot of them. They are a standby / go to - you name it - for me. I love them and can tell you where to find the best ones in a heart beat (Sienna's in Voorhees, Fieni's in Voorhees, SALAD HOUSE in Marlton, all Outback's and Carrabba's, and HERE) ! My friend's friend told her that Redstone's corn bread croutons were delicious and a must try. Sooo, we subbed the sourdough garlic croutons with the cornbread ones - no problem at all. HOLY SH****************T were they amazing! What a neat and yummy idea! In the future, I'm going to have the full size versus the starter size that I had last night. Our server, Flower, was a doll - very chill, attentive, and charming. I notice everything, including one of her tattoos (a tiny astrological bull). She was a Taurus too like my birthday friend, which was kind of neat. Cool name too. Redstone is top notch through and through. Even the bathrooms were great - very clean and smelled so damned good. Why in Hades hadn't I been here in 7 years is beyond me!

We managed to snag a last-minute 4:30 reservation online, walked right in and were seated immediately. We were hardly alone, as the bar and seemingly all interior tables were filled! Despite that, the sound level was quite acceptable. My wife ordered salmon as she usually does; I went for the Spicy Thai Noodle entree. Surprisingly it was 15 minutes before we got our dishes! My wife was delighted with her perfectly-presented and cooked salmon, however my Thai Noodle entree was far saltier than it was spicy, so I sent it back. Our server offered any number of alternatives but given how slow the kitchen seemed, we decided to order dessert instead and our server suggested the Chocolate-chip Skillet Cookie. Freshly baked and served in a cast-iron pan, this gargantuan cookie took a few minutes to arrive but was clearly worth the wait; It's so good that it's simply genius; far better than anything I'd ever expect from a chain restaurant. The cookie isn't overly sweet and has a fabulous texture and a wonderful, caramelized taste that blends perfectly with the generous topping of ice cream. It's truly a stunner that deserves to be one of their signature desserts. The level of professionalism on display at all levels is impressive and the manager even came over to make sure everything was OK since I'd sent back a dish. We let her know that the cookie more than made up for any problem! While I wasn't initially happy with my entree, it's very clear that the staff there will do everything they can to ensure every customer has a delightful experience.

We didn't realize that the restaurant was a part of a country club until we arrived (no where in the reviews did it mention this) but we've done brunch at other country clubs throughout Jersey and it was wonderful. Upon entering the restaurant we saw their only brunch option was for a brunch buffet and from our quick scans of the buffet walking to the hostess stand we all decided we would not be doing brunch (pastries looked like they were from Coscto, warm food looked as though it had been sitting there for a while and the omelettes coming from the omelette station didn't look spectacular so we opted to do their lunch menu instead. Service was SSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWWW! From the very beginning until the very end. It took about 15 minutes before our server arrived to greet us, then another 15 for our first round of cocktails to come out, the about a half an hour for us to be told that they were out of 1 of the 3 appetizers we ordered ... so no lie, after being there a full hour we finally received 2 of the 3 appetizers and were then just able to order a second round of cocktails and our main courses. The cocktails weren't the greatest either. We thought perhaps the first round was our fault because we all tried their "blackberry espresso martini" and we knew it was a risk from the beginning ... so we ordered "safer" cocktails for round 2 and the prosecco based cocktails were even worse than the blackberry espresso martinis smh. I truly don't understand how one messes up prosecco + a splash of limoncello and cranberry (that was what was supposed to be in the cocktail) but they certainly messed it up, to the point where I didn't drink it. Our entrees finally arrived and WOMP WOMP WOMP! Overall every single one was MID at best ... and all I had was French onion soup and a wedge salad .... like how is it possible for those to be BLAH? Food was so MEH we didn't even take pics lol. Needless to say we all agreed we wouldn't be back and wished we had decided on what was our 2nd option for brunch instead.

So, the only reason I opted for Randalls is because it's a short drive and I had work after dinner so it was convenient. Based on their IG posts, it seemed decent. From what I was told, they try to be an upscale steakhouse so bad but just couldn't get it right. But enough of this heresay and here's my actual experience. There's valet. This is a golf course/club house and they have plenty of private spaces for parties and events. They seemed to have coat check but when we arrived, no one offered to check our coats. The main hostess lady that night (in her mint green sweater dress and leather booties) talked to us with a flat face, sans warmth and hospitality, and couldn't manage to fake a smile. She stopped by a couple of times to say we are doing okay and not needing anything. It was more of a statement rather than a query or concern. Then she walked away before I could answer, both times. The ambiance, it's very intimate. They have ample space. Our server was very accommodating and pleasant (I believe her name was Robin). Now here's my honest review on the food. We ordered fried calamari, nothing fancy just good old fried calamari. I feel like you really can't get this wrong because it's breaded and deep fried. It was stinky! Really fishy fish bite that you couldn't ignore it! I mainly ordered this for the kids but after I tasted it, I didn't want to give it to the kids. So they had bread instead. No complaint there. MIL got the filet mignon, ordered medium - it was barely cooked and begging to be seasoned. My husband and I got the lamb chops and I ordered an extra side of toasted sweet potatoes. The lamb chops were also not to the temperature I ordered it and was very undercooked. It didn't have any flavor whatsoever, and the only way I was able to tolerate this bland meat was to dip it in the sauce it came with. The potatoes were very charred on the outside but tough on the inside. The sugars on the outside were so burned it was bitter. If you're looking for a legitimate steakhouse, this ain't it!

We followed this with a 8oz filet each with the black garlic butter and I got the lobster tail on the side. Both entrees were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing especially with the butter added. We also got the Parmesan truffle fries and Brussel sprouts to share and both were out of this world as well. For dessert we shared the chocolate cake which was HUGE very good and moist. When we were leaving there was a band playing in the bar area and people dancing. Looks like it's a nice hang out on the weekends. The restaurant is beautiful and would be perfect for a date night or special occasion. Our waitress was friendly and honest, even mentioning that the chef had changed and some dishes weren't as good as before. We started with the crispy calamari, which was overly fried and lacked flavor. I also ordered the clam chowder and burrata caprese. The chowder was extremely salty and I couldn't finish it, while the burrata had great flavors but the dough was underbaked and too soft to even hold. My parents ordered the baby back ribs and steak frites, and both were disappointed as well. Overall, the atmosphere and service were excellent, but the food fell short. Maybe it was just an off day, but unfortunately it didn't live up to the glowing reviews my parents had shared.

Group event, went as part of a holiday party and the food, service and wine were all on point. This was a long happy hour not sit down so I cannot attest to a large group sit down dinner. Lastly dining in the main dining room, 6 people, Saturday night. Service was thin, read, our server was busy with a large group in the back and the neglect was evident. Now this doesn't mean the rest of the restaurant crew couldn't step in but really didn't. We were graced with a water refill once over the course of the dinner, although the friendly server who did pour the water said she walks around to fill water, she was never seen again. Our entrees were brought by a group of servers who disappeared after placement of the plates. So it would appear people were working they just seemed to ignore our table. Food was great, I wouldn't have gone if I didn't think the food was on par, but spending this kind of money you want a balance of service and food. You can see the accumulation of glasses that went on removed between wines. Now happy hour is discounted and you are at the bar so you get front and center service. Standing in the group room you are able to flag a server, sitting in the middle of the dining area and being largely ignored just rubs you the wrong way. I had two people ask why are you going to Flemings when I told them our plans. A competing steak house at the Cherry Hill Mall, we have attended many, many times without fail. You don't know how good you have it until you go someplace else and realize service is a lost art at some places. I am posting more for public service announcement, i would hope management reviews and tries to address this rather large service gap. I have never had this issue at the capital Grill, so it is disappointing to encounter it here, particularly when the food was on point.
