As a Philly native I LOVE Chickie's. I would say the food is consistent, and the service for the most part is pretty good. My issue however is with the absolutely deafening music playing at 5pm on a Friday. I understand the bar vibe, and love the intensity during an eagles game but on a night out with family it's unbearable. Not only is it LOUD it's extremely dated. Listening to songs from 2000 at max volume is a lot. This seems to be a continued theme across all locations and it's honestly the only thing that would keep me from going more frequently. I'm a SJ native and I HAD to get my fix of crabby fries while I was back in the area for a few days. I've never been to the Marlton location before and I loved the open windows and large TVs everywhere. I ordered a cheeseburger and it unfortunately didn't come with fries, so my hand was forced to order a very large side of crab fries. The fries were exactly as I remembered and crispy/delicious. The burger was a bit basic but not a bad burger. But OH MY LORD the service was slowwww. We were there for lunch and it wasn't insanely busy that it looked but it took forever for our server to even bring our waters. The food took longer than I expected and the whole meal took about 45 minutes longer than it should have. Overall, not the best for speed. Especially if you're trying to get a quick lunch. They of course are known for their crab fries - crinkle cut fries doused in old bay seasoning with molten American cheese to dip them. The bar is sticky, the cocktails are sugary mix based. The beer selection is approachable with a whole spectrum from generic swill to some interesting local crafts. On this particular visit I had a very good Italian pork sandwich. Came back to dine inside with a party of 7. Waitress was kind, but not attentive. Had to chase her down for a few things since she did not check in on us. We ordered a good bit of food and everything was 50/50. Some winners and some things we plan on never ordering again. The weird thing was each dish came out one by one. Unfortunately, 3 people ordered burgers and that came out ~20minutes after everyone else's entrees. For apps, we shared the crabfries, calamari and Philly cheesesteak nachos. The calamari was awful and extremely breaded with no squid. The nachos were a 10/10 and a big crowd pleaser! Based on my review last time and this time, order the fries and nachos to start! For entrees, we ordered the paddy melt burger, ultimate tailgate burger, Chickie's Riverboat, seafood sauté, conch fritters and lobster tacos. The winners were the lobster tacos and paddy melt. Everyone raved about those entrees. The seafood sauté was huge, simple and delicious. Conch fritters and riverboat were sadly awful with everyone complaining it was all bread and showing the table the lack of seafood inside. Very big sports bar and clean inside. We came here for lunch and let me tell you THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!!!!! I got their tuna tacos and it was so good, the tuna didn't have a fishy tastes, it was chilled, the peach sauce and spicy mayo mix with a tiny chopped cucumbers was so good. My only gripe is the dish is so little. I wish they had options to add more on. We go their fries and as always they were delicious. I have to say the beer was served in warm glasses. My husband and I go to Chickies & Pete's in Marlton, NJ quite often. We go probably once a week. Last night, 5/11/2025, we took my Mom for Mother's Day as they have her favorite burger. Last night we also witnessed something that we haven't previously. By the end, all we wanted to do was leave. Ms. Korrey was our waitress. She was great! Zero complaints. She was sweet and attentive. She was very personable, smiling and maintained eye contact every visit to our table. She wished my Mom a happy Mother's Day. She made sure we were happy with food, drinks, etc. Not long after we got our food, she was at the register next to us. One of the managers, John M, started cleaning off the table directly behind us and starts telling her he needs to talk to her. The Phillies game was on so he was already somewhat shouting so she could hear him. She walked over to him and gave him her attention. He immediately started going off about her supposed 'bad attitude'. She was trying to keep the conversation from escalating and would try to walk away. John M proceeded to follow her. They walked into the kitchen and back out and he was still following her, aggressively saying rude things to her. He started threatening her job at the table behind us. They went back into the kitchen and the next time they came back out, he was next to her, forcing her for clock out and demanding her to give him her card. He took her apron, which I could hear had change in it when it smacked onto the counter, therefore, he took her apron, containing her tips that she made and took it back towards the kitchen. He came back out and started threatening to call the cops. Our waitress then started crying, ran back towards the kitchen, and completely left the building. About 10-15 minutes later, Olivia came over, letting us know she would be finishing up our night and that Korrey had to leave for the night. She was also phenomenal but honestly, Olivia isn't the topic... John M was extremely, EXTREMELY unprofessional. That had to be so embarrassing for Korrey. The floor is not where you handle an issue with an employee. The way he talked to her is also how you should never talk to an employee, regardless of location. The way John M handled the entire situation was embarrassing and degrading. I'm proud of Korrey for not reacting the way I would have. I regret not saying something in the moment while she was there. I am extremely sorry for the employees that have to report to him. The more I think about it, the more it blows my mind that this man, a manager, was comfortable enough to degrade and talk down to this waitress, in front of customers. John M's attitude and actions should not be tolerated. He is not deserving of a management title. Hopefully Chickies can do better for their employees. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Came here after a long drive from Canada to meet up with our friends. We were shocked at how big the bar was as ours in Canada are tiny in comparison. We sat around the bar and ordered drinks and food. Food took a while but was worth the wait! The crab fries were something out of this world that we've never tried. I came here for a birthday, and even though it was just three of us, it took over thirty minutes to get a someone to our table even though the waitress in our section went to other tables around us multiple times. A manager came over and eventually took our drink order but then it took ANOTHER thirty minutes for that waitress who went to every other table multiple times to come to us. We placed our order, apps, meals etc and while the food came out in a timely fashion our waitress never refilled drinks or checked in on anything. We had been to Chickie's and Pete's once before and weren't really happy with the selection, the service or the food, but I was in the mood for a lobster roll so I said let's give it one more try. For an appetizer we had the half pound of Boneless chicken wings. $10. They were not anything like you would get at Pic. They were these tiny little nuggets that were almost impossible to eat because they had been fried and they were so small. I cannot debate whether it was a half pound or not. My husband got a burger because he couldn't find anything else that appealed to him. I got my lobster roll $32. It was good, but not what I would really call a lobster roll, because it was sort of a hotdog roll that it was served in. I am not sure what all the hype is about this restaurant and I was shocked when I first discovered that crab fries are just fries with old Bay seasoning on them, so we did not have them again. The food was yummy and flavorful! Cons: The waitstaff need more training in this new world of COVID! My party had an issue with seating that could've been easily resolved..but because of new policies that appeared to be implemented concerning table assignments-this became a bigger issue than what was necessary! Another great experience at Chickie's. 5 star rating for the service and the food. We got cheese burgers and crab fries to eat and an IPA/glass of wine to drink. We arrived around 10pm on a Tuesday night and they close at 11. Bar was about half full and there were still customers scattered around the restaurant at tables. The bartender had a great attitude despite it being close to closing time. Kitchen was still open and the food came out quickly and hot. My burger was cooked nicely and seasoned very well. Had my nephew with me and then was told they only have high tops, i felt that accommodation should've been easily understandable and made for us instead of letting others sit at normal tables knowing I had a child with me.
