BRISKET!!!! It was so good! I highly recommend the "moist" brisket because it has great flavor and is fork-tender. The people are the best part of the place, though! I recognized a couple of the employees from the Hagerstown location and the manager is an absolute dear! I've either gone to this Mission BBQ location or had food picked up from there 3 times this week because it was good and priced fairly. For the non-meat eaters, I am told that the salmon is delicious and generously portioned. I was disappointed with the brisket. I have eaten at Mission BBQ in the past (not this location) and the moist Brisket is amazing. I ordered the same at this location and it came out very dry and they gave me an end piece so of course it is going to be dry. This was worse than dry though it was charred. I told the person at the counter and she swapped it out for some pulled pork which was OK. Very friendly and apologetic and gave me a free sandwich coupon. Handled the situation with a courteous attitude. Wish I could remember the persons name.... I returned use the coupon a few days later and tried the brisket sandwich thinking I should give them another chance. It was not as bad but it was still too dry. Bottom line. Good staff but the brisket was not on point. Would not recommend the the brisket obviously. read more

My daughter, Emily, works at Mission BBQ in Frederick, so I'm a bit bias. The level of respect towards service men and women of all types has amazed me. We were in downtown Frederick last night and ran into some EMT/paramedics and she thanked them for their service. She also encouraged them to come in to Mission and gave one of them a Mission brownie (she'd just gotten off of work and had bought several). She was very proud to represent Mission and did it well! Review wise it is fantastic!! The food is amazing and the staff is just as great. Try the "juicy lucy" (a cheese stuffed SMOKED burger), the mac&cheese, the salmon, pork bbq, etc. You can't go wrong no matter what you order. Out of 5 stars, I give it a 6!!!!!! read more

If you haven't tried Mission BBQ in Frederick, MD your missing out. They have so many options to choose from!! Not only a great menu but also good portion sizes. The staff at this location are always friendly recognizing each person that walks in the door as well. These days it's nice to make eye contact and be recognized. Tonight, I forgot to add a corn muffin to my meal. No big deal....it was over heard and poof it appeared. AMAZING!!! Didn't realize what time it was and realized that they closed at 9pm. However, the staff did not get pushy instead we were outside eating and we were enjoying each other's company and they stated that if we needed anything to let them know. I know how I feel after I've put in a long day...so we cleaned up our spot and once again were greeted and took our trash and they Thanked us for coming in tonight!!! WOW!!! We love eating at Mission BBQ! The food is always delicious and the service is outstanding. We ordered fries extra crispy and when they put them on my tray one of the girls behind the counter felt that they weren't crispy enough and brought me an additional side of extra crispy fries which were perfect. We just had the absolute best service I've ever had at a restaurant! Everyone working was so warm and friendly, taking the time to chat and say Hi to my two small kids. One lovely woman working brought our food over for us, snuck my son a brownie, gave us an extra plate of fries, cleared our trays when we were done and just stopped to chat with us several times. She was so special and really made me want to cry! Also I have found the employees are great and this location is no different. Great staff, helpful, friendly and efficient. The facility is clean including the bathrooms! Everything is well stocked and the floor help is great. I as a rule do not like BBQ. Mission is the only one I will go to. Honestly I've always seen this restaurant but never went in. Many friends recommended it to me so I finally decided to check it out. This place is overwhelmingly "Murica guns n bbq" themed which threw me off in the beginning but Lisa greeted us and told us about how the menu works and was very helpful, she answered all of our questions and even gave us a free sandwich card since we were first time guests. the food was honestly way better than I thought it would be and the sauces were all very good. I got the salmon and my boyfriend got the brisket. We both tried each others food and both were fantastic. My husband and I moved to the area from Memphis TN about 2 years ago. We have tried several different BBQ places around here but there was always something that we didn't like..We decided to try out this place last week and I'm so glad that we did! The food is AMAZING!!! The brisket was so juicy and tender..my husband said he could tell it was going to be good just by looking at it lol..I love how they have different BBQ sauces that are associated with different states so there really is a sauce for everyone..my husband likes the Texas sauce and I liked the West Virginia and Memphis sauces..and I love how involved they are with the community and the military and military families..but the best part was most definitely the service! We told the cashier that this was our first time and he was so nice and patient with us..he also gave my husband and I both a free side for being first time customers..then we met the manager (Josh) and he was beyond awesome! He asked if we were enjoying our food after we had a chance to taste everything and of course we were (it was delicious) and he told us a little bit about the company..he gave us both a coupon for a free sandwich on our next visit and gave us a business card with information about signing up for their birthday club to receive a free sandwich on our birthdays..he was very attentive to the other guests in the restaurant as well...he went around to every table making sure everyone was happy and he even gave everyone a small piece of a brownie..he was so nice and made the entire experience even better!! As a KCBS BBQ judge the only meat dish passing muster is the excellent smoked Turkey which was smoked to perfection but still moist. BBQ ribs are an absolute disaster with minimal meat on the bone and salty taste. Wet brisket was undercooked and fatty. The several sauces on each table were watered down but the taste still comes thru. Sides were all about par with any other decent BBQ restaurants. Excellent and expeditious service with courteous staff. While the interior is a tribute to our military and uniformed public service men and women, it is just a massive and over the top unrelated hodgepodge of everything on the walls. Many large chain and/franchise BBQ restaurants such as Mission BBQ lack the quality and the vibe of the individual BBQ restaurants. read more
