Brisket was so dry and almost inedible. Sides were tasty but I'm not coming here for sides so overall its a no go.

Having been to many other locations, it simply does not disappoint. The interiors are decorated in similar fashion with lots of military and first responder gear and memorabilia. Staff is always super friendly- from the person taking your order, to the servers to the manager or other staff walking around collecting trays and checking on you. The food is good solid BBQ- my personal preference is the moist brisket. The mac and cheese is always a hit, but my favorite is when they have the loaded smashed potatoes. They also have a good kids menu of either slider or kids sized ribs with a side of their choice. A great place to stop for a quick lunch or dinner. read more

I finally was able to visit Mission BBQ in Westminster Maryland on Father's Day, 2025. Many friends have told me I must try it as it is very good. Well, they weren't joking. When we first walked in the door we were welcomed by a very friendly staff. The ambiance of Mission BBQ is very good. We both had a pulled pork sandwich. He opted for the cole slaw and I got the potato salad. Very very good. There was a nice guy named Boston who came around to see if everything was ok and struck up a conversation with him. He told me that he has worked at many places but loves his job here. A well treated employee is a happy employee so I believe they must be food to their people. We popped in for lunch after a shopping excursion. I ordered the brisket meal with sides- side salad and fries and hu y had the pick three meat sample (chicken, pork, brisket) with sides, pork & beans and fries. The only negative the fries were overly salty. The drinks were very good. I think they have the best iced sweet and unsweetened tea I had more room for the salad and was full after a few bites. It's a chain, but it's surprisingly good. The food comes out too quick to be made-to-order. That being said, I do believe it is cooked in large batches the same day. It tastes very good. I tried the lean brisket, the cheddar jalapeño sausage, and the pulled pork. All were excellent and I'd highly recommend to anyone. I cleaned the plate along with their Mac n' cheese and slaw. Great food, friendly service, and great honoring of our vets! I really like this place. They have special up front parking for veterans, and free food for Vietnam Veterans on March 29th. (Very nice promotions for veterans!) I had the 2 meat platter and loved the pulled pork and moist brisket. The brisket is probably the best that I've ever had! Also loved the creamy Cole slaw. When we first walked in, almost immediately there was a passive aggressive energy. Almost like the workers didn't want to be there. When we went to order, the person who was checking us out, I believe her name is Madison, almost from the get go had an attitude. Second, when we made one of the workers aware there was no more condiments left, she answered us with "Yea I'm aware I was just about to get to it" with yet again, a very passive aggressive attitude. When I went up to get a box for my food, the cashier who rang us up, Madison, was the one who answered to me. I was getting through my sentence of "Hey can I get a small box for my sandwich?" The response was "what size box. Small medium or large." It never used to be like this, the people were always very happy and in a good mood, I guess that just isn't it anymore. I'm going to be honest - I don't really like BBQ, but my husband LOVES it, so I entertain him like a good wife when he's craving BBQ. This place was GREAT and far exceeded my expectations!! From the second we walked in, the service was friendly, quick and the staff was knowledgeable about the menu items. I wish I could remember his name, but the kid who helped us was really great (he had curly hair if that helps)! He provided excellent recommendations and he was friendly and approachable. A manager even walked around the restaurant during our visit to see if everyone was satisfied. The BBQ was great! Even for someone who just doesn't love BBQ. I had the brisket and it was tender and delicious, the potato salad was perfectly creamy and the cole slaw was perfectly crunchy. No joke, I think they have the best fries I have ever had in my life. They feel very homemade and perfectly seasoned. Also, I want to mention how clean this restaurant was. Usually BBQ places have sticky bottles of sauce on the tables, food on the floors, messy prep areas, etc. BBQ typically equates with sticky, dive-like restaurants to me. This place was really, really clean. I did not even see a napkin on the floor. I appreciate that - it makes me feel like my food is prepared with the same level of care. I definitely will be back and I really, really enjoyed my food and overall experience. Our family's first time visit to this restaurant. We arrived at opening on a Sunday. A staff member opened the store the door and was instantly friendly as she greeted us into the restaurant. Overpriced and always sounds better than after we eat it. The only thing I truly enjoy is the Mac and cheese. The mess up our orders and when I ask for wet it's more dry than sand. So I call and they offer a dessert.... Yuck. Not one dessert have I eaten there. Every cobbler is like eating a bowl of flavourless sugar. So sweet and underwhelming. To Start off I have been a very long costumer of Mission BBQ as they are located in Hagerstown and Columbia MD and we made a special trip to stop in anytime we made a trip out to either vicinity. I was extremely happy to learn that Mission BBQ opened up in our Town of Frederick MD. mY family have enjoyed monthly and even at times weekly quality and impeccable service at Mission BBQ since its opening. My family and I have been extremely grateful to the entire staff and management that include Juan, Monica, Flor, Mary, Zaida, Josh, Evelyn, Gwen, Grace, Miles, Kelly, Laura, Lisa, Dean, Lindsey, Tim, Angelina, Jaqueline and John. The staff has treated us above and beyond professionally, Friendly and compassionately. The food has been amazing as we return often for the Moist Brisket and Plate Specials. The restuarant interior is always clean and the staff greets everyone as they enter the front door regardless of them being a new costumer, veteran or returning costumer. This helps everyone feel welcomed at all times. I love their dinning floating staff that includes Lisa and Lindsey, they are extremely personable and speak to all costumers in the dinning room.
