Oh my goodness!!! Love everything about my first time to Miss Tomato Sandwich Shop!!! The owner is so pleasant and greeted me as soon as I walked thru the door. Made me feel just like family. My go to sandwich is a veggie and I'm very particular about what goes on it, so I usually just make them at home lol. But, my sandwich was made to perfection! There are lots of toppings, and I can't have spicy foods, so the owner asked about each topping as we went along to make sure he didn't put anything on there that I wasn't wanting. The place is a little hard to find especially since it's inside a liquor store and it's not advertised. The sandwiches are huge and all the ingredients are fresh including the Sourdough and Dutch bread. The service was great and friendly. I have been driving past this for years on my way to San Bruno to see my grandmother. I normally go to miss tomato on 87th in Daly City. I have never been to this location before and did not even know there were other miss tomato. I believe this is owned by his cousin. My spicy mama was unreal. I normally get it but it was made with such care. The owner was very kind and is able to make a sandwich in a matter of minutes. Sandwiches are massive, service is great, and everything is made with care. Immediately told my family and friends to check it out. I think San Francisco is underrated for the sandwich scene. I lived in two places in SF, and each had a solid corner store sandwich nearby. I ordered the spicy mama and it was average at best. Not bad flavor, but the chicken was disgusting. It was that cheap, frozen shit. It has the consistency of scrambled eggs. A while later I wanted to give it another shot. Maybe it was just the chicken so I got the fog buster. The meat was still very low quality, although not as bad as the chicken. But the flavor was the exact same. Again, not bad, but not great either. I think there's too much lettuce. If your sandwich is hot, it gets a weird flavor that's too prominent. I feel bad trashing this place, because the owner is super nice. The sandwich is big too, so it's a good deal. I would much prefer it to be smaller and have good meat though. For value, this place is solid. For quality, it's the worst I've had in the peninsula. All corners stores are a bit of a step down from the legit sandwich shops, but this is a step below that. read more

I live and go to school close by and have not tried this place out. It's a hidden gem inside a convenience store off Skyline Blvd. $8 a piece! Cannot beat that. They have various specials and you can also customize your own. I am THAT person who doesn't like cheese or onions in their sandwich. OH WELL. The gentleman who runs the place is incredibly welcoming and generous. We were a family of four and asked for vegetarian sandwiches and though he informed us that he had none of the usual "special" ingredients due to it being July 5th, he took the time and care to make us custom veggie sandwiches with falafel and avocado. He checked with us multiple times about allergies and preferences but told us to trust him with the rest -- and we ended up with some of the most flavorful sandwiches we've ever had. This gem is located in the middle of a local liquor store on Skyline Blvd. if you are looking for a deli.....don't be discouraged, it's really there! We highly recommend you visit. We called to order in advance and were surprised to learn we could not. Once we arrived we understand why. The kind, generous and joyful owner prepares each one with your input. He has lots of spectacular sauces and he let us taste a few of them before deciding which we wanted. We chose both the red spicy sauce and the garlic pesto. I can't wait to visit again. The sandwich is ginormous....so, I suggest splitting one or, better yet....get a whole one for yourself and eat it for two meals. The warm sandwich was piled high with custom toppings. No disappointment here. The owner and his colleague at the sandwich bar took our orders and made us two mammoth sammies for only $7.99/each. The Sammie shop is inside a nondescript corner liquor and convenience store so don't be confused by the outside (no mention of a sandwich shop). Nice people, good quality coldcuts, sides and sauces and genuine care taken with our meals.
