After reading all of the 5 star reviews I was curious so I decided to check this place out. The person helping me described it as "Subway for Korean food". Well, I would have to disagree - Subway is mass-produced, pre-packaged, bland meat and produce masquerading as "health" food. MiSo bistro has fresh, wholesome, and tasty food that made me feel good after I ate it. I enjoyed my nori roll filled with rice, tofu, edamame, carrots, jalapenos, romaine, corn slaw and bimimbop (sp?) sauce. This is a great "fast casual" spot for vegetarians! I have been in and around Asian culture, especially Korean culture, my entire adult life, I speak Korean, my youngest was born in Korea and I am a Korean gastronaut of the first order. Miso has a Korean feel, but never calls itself Korean, is says it right there on the sign: "Asian Bistro" What Miso does well is encompass so many of the flavors and qualities across Asian cuisine. It has so many combinations that get that wonderful umami taste and feel in your mouth (try their combinations before you branch out with your own sauce combinations, they are not accidental) If they advertised as a Korean restaurant, it might fall short of Korean restaurant expectations, but they aren't they are something else and innovative, and Olympia/Lacey needs more places like it. read more

This is fun little shop that specializes in the fusion of Korea sushi (no raw fish) and the Western wrap. Eaten like a burrito in seaweed or in a bowl, you get an assortment of fresh vegetables and meats. The only reason I'm docking some stars are because I prefer my rice less soggy. We were looking for a healthy version of anything around this area & this place popped up. So yummy & so glad we went! It was our first time in here and the owners were so welcoming and friendly. They offer a brown rice option those who don't eat white rice, no greasy or heavy feel to the food. Chicken was delicious as well as the crab salad. They offer military and first responder discount!! Good stuff. The corn slaw is so yummy, and the bibimbap sauce is delicious. My husband enjoyed his steak tiger bowl, while I had the pork. Nom nom! Both were awesome. My son dined on a roll, perfect for him with rice, tofu, and a few veggies. Very good value with decent prices for freshly prepared food. Yah for kimchi! MiSo - Classic with radish - Salad Near Me - Lacey, Washington

I know I was at the same place; but had a different food experience. Owners are nice and educative; yes it's like a Korean Subway; yes its very clean, but no table service, and really fast food. Nothing fancy. I think the owner's photos misrepresent the size of the servings, especially the protein! I had a bulgoki tiger bowl, miso soup and water. (Did not know until today they had a combo meal. Did not see that on the menu.) Price was over $10. The bulgogi not only was tasteless, it looked like mashed up mystery meat---had been sitting all day?--and was way overcooked. It was also minimal in what was really a bowl of rice. Maybe because it was after the dinner rush, but standards have to be maintained all during service hours. Before leaving I asked to see the chicken and pork--both looked the same, overcooked and maybe sitting all day; limited in quantity in the serving containers. What really surprised me was the meat and rice were hot, but the condiments are all cold and are place not next to but on top of the meat and rice. So what you get is cooled down by the veggies put on top. Everything is then cooler than lukewarm. In the end you get a bowl of food that is not separate items, but all mixed up. Miso was good, but expensive for what it is, and served in disposable cup. Also note, handicapped persons need to park over by the pizza joint, and want along the street sidewalk to access the restaurant. There is a step to enter from the parking lot side. read more

We stopped by this place since we were in the area and the lady asked if we had been there before. It was our first time and she described it as chipotle style menu and you can choose what you want in your bowl, burrito, or salad. I opted for the "classic" bowl without cabbage and was pretty pleased with everything. It came with bulgogi steak, kimchi, corn slaw, and lettuce with bibimbap sauce. This place is definitely a good price for the portion size! The corn slaw I was a bit skeptical of because it looked kind of like Mac salad you would get at a teriyaki place with the same type of dressing but it was actually super delicious! This place is great, if I happen to be in the neighborhood again I would definitely stop here if we were looking for something light and quick. read more

As the woman behind the counter explained, it works a bit like Subway or Chipotle, but with an Asian twist. Pick either a bowl, wrap, or salad option and select your protein and rice (brown/white). Then load up with unlimited veggie toppings and finish it off with one of their delicious sauces. They also have a menu with pre-designed combinations for those who want a more narrow range of choices. The food tasted wonderful, the customer service was exceptionally friendly, and it was CHEAP! $7 a pop and we were out the door, fully satisfied and with leftovers for later. read more

Having just put down my last bite, from my third experience with Miso, I can say that they have established themselves with my wife and I through consistency, freshness, and quality patient customer service. Our area lacks in any place Id take visiting friends or family, with only a few exceptions, or heavan forbid going to a national chain. My wife saw Miso on her way home one day, and described its location to me once. While on a trip to Walgreens plaza on Lacey Blvd and College, we finally found it. Since Miso is a little hard to find, or at least a best kept secret, let people who are interested know they are near the Papa Johns in Walgreens plaza. Anyway, Im a big fan of the bowls, my wife has gotten wraps and bowls, but the salads will be a must-try sooner or later. The ingredients are extremely fresh, and as other reviewers mention, not bathed in grease, or batters. I feel that if one were trying to eat "healthy" you could easily enjoy a satisfying meal and have no guilt. The meals weve both had, have had the change of flavor that you want, right when you want it. When the dime a dozen teriyaki and mexican places have lost their appeal, Miso may be the perfect answer to the question, where can we go thats just honest food done well by people who care for their customers? Also the meat was not well drained so I had to drain liquid out before eating. Very limited choice of vegetables. Very small amount of food in an $8 salad. MiSo has two meanings for these enthusiastic owners - the Korean meaning of "Smile" describes their attitude and customer service, while the Japanese meaning describes one of their signature items (the best Miso soup we've had!). The concept here is somewhat like Subway meets Sushi meets delicious Korean barbecue, but that description isn't quite fair to the quality of food we had here. My wife and I tried a bowl and a Sushi burrito and found both delicious, satisfying, and filling without a single bit of the "I just ate something I probably shouldn't have" feeling you get from most quick service restaurants. But what really makes this place shine even more than the food (if that's possible) is the personality, attitude, and service of the owners. They are passionate, friendly, and offered the best restauarant customer service we have EVER eperienced. Our only regret?
