Really bad customer experience. Their front counter staff (2 girls) lied to me. I call ahead to place an order and the girl had trouble taking it, so I took my time to repeat it. I thought the order had been placed and asked what time to pickup. She hung up the phone on me. I tried calling back right away, two times, and got their Google voice mail, which was very suspicious. 30 min later we showed up to get the order and they never placed it. They said their "phones do not always work" and they thought I said, I would call back with a time to get the order. Which is ridiculous. The whole experience was so odd - I could tell on the phone that the girl was confused and then seem frustrated - I was really nice and did my best to go through the order patiently - when we lost connection, I knew she hung up on me. What really annoyed me, besides the fact that they never placed my order, is that they had an attitude with me when I came to pick it up AND they lied to me (and my spouse) and avoided my call back. I have lived down here for 20 years and I usually do Coco sushi on 26. I go into this shopping complex a lot and never tried this place. I am done - they lost my business for good. I know there are staff shortages, but this was uncalled for and unacceptable customer service. I was really nice and patient on the phone. They really need to train their front desk staff better. Sushi was good and fresh but not outstanding. Service was good. We just were not super overwhelmed with the rolls, especially when the price was put into the equation. Perhaps we are just getting to be sushi snobs, due to the number of sushi resteraunts we visit. Best rolls were The Bagel and Rainbow. Godzilla was pretty good too. The rest were just average. Another negative was the high price for a soup and salad appetizer, over $10. We find most sushi resteraunts have them complementary or for a minimal fee. Big positive was the service. This place is a hidden gem! The tempura sea bass starter was amazing, incredibly crisp outside, flakey moist fish inside. Every roll we got was delicious, and so clean and fresh tasting. The only sushi spot I've ever gone to where they kept the specialty rolls pretty clean, and offered sauce for dipping, so the fish didn't get overwhelmed by an overly sweet or spicy sauce. Our waitress, Robin, was the best! She gave us tips on where to go the following night we were in town, and even offered to get us a reservation at a nice spot. Great experience!! read more

What a disappointment! I have given this place 5 stars, and I think their popularity has gone to their head. We called and asked for a table, when arrived, we were given a seat at the sushi "bar". We were so close to the woman next to us, she spill water on me and even hit me in the face with her napkin. Then they asked a couple to move because they booked a large party directly behind us. They put their table so close the waitress could not even reach us. Food was slid down the bar and she poured water behind us (spilling it down my back). We paid the same price for food as everyone else, but were treated our service didn't matter. I don't care how good your sushi is, don't take reservations if this is how you are going to treat your guests. Go somewhere else until they figure out how to make some changes. read more

The service was fine and on point..... but the food was extremely chintzy. Ordered some rolls and the amount of fish in them was a complete joke. The menu states that two of the rolls that we ordered contained lump crab.... uhhhhh nope, not even anything that closely resembled lump crab. This is a great little hole in the wall sushi spot. We ordered one of their platters with sashimi, nigiri and rolls. Well everything was delicious I felt like the roles were a little small. After having been here at this time I have to admit I didn't care that the roles were small because I don't think that's what you should eat here. The quality of fish was absolutely amazing and I had ocean trout for the first time here. Ocean trout is similar to salmon and the color and has a lot of fat in each slice. After having the ocean trout and our platter after we ate we decided to order four more pieces. Unfortunately that was a mistake because it took about 30 more minutes to make four pieces of sushi. We had a really great waiter and she was hustling around I don't think it was her fault. If you are a sushi fan as I am then don't miss Misaki. Don't be fooled by its unassuming location in a strip mall. It rivals some of the finer sushi restaurants I've been to. The specials are fresh, delicious and creatively prepared and served. You can't go wrong with any of the old standbys from the regular menu either. The atmosphere is quaint and relaxing after a day on the beach and reservations are accepted. Try one of the specialty drinks on the menu and you won't be disappointed. I have eaten sushi in a lot of restaurants in a lot of cities and this place is my personal gold standard. Misaki always impresses! First of all, the fish is fantastic. But there is so much more than that...The service is friendly, informative, and unpretentious (Ryan is THE server to have). Details like the miso soup and the salad dressing are great, the cooked entrees (my wife's not big on fish) have always been excellent, and even the deserts are amazing (tempura oreos a must!). Yes, it is located in a crappy strip mall next to some place that sells old DVD's and hoagies, but don't be deterred! I usually get a sushi entree and add in whatever rolls or specials that Ryan recommends and he never steers me wrong. The sushi and rolls are just perfectly done. I was pleasantly surprised about the quality of the sushi rolls and the overall service at this place. The waiter was very attentive with me and my family and left nothing to chance. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday and they made the evening super special. We ordered a California roll, an avocado roll and a custom made tempura roll. I was quite surprised that they were happy to make this tempura roll the way we wanted and didn't frown upon when I asked about if it was possible. The first time we went here with some locals, I loved the food, but thought that my memories may have been unduly influenced by the ongoing party we were enjoying that day. Their Japanese sushi chef has got the hookup with the local fishermen and really knows how to do make the fish work for him. This is my favorite sushi place in the Delaware beach area. You would never guess by the strip mall it's in how fantastic the food is! We started with the Eastern Shore Lemonade (which was amazing) and the pork spring rolls (also tasty, but the sauce lacked a little flavor). We then ordered four rolls - Fish On, Dynamite, Sure Shot, and (my personal favorite) Sunset. Each was more delicious than the last and we destroyed the whole plate. We got to-go sushi here last Sunday night. They were the only sushi spot close to where we were staying in Bethany that was open at the time. Good quality sushi for a reasonable price. Could not find a menu online to call in my order so had to go there to order and wait (I'll post my somewhat crappy menu pics that I took on the fly for my friend who was back at our condo). The boy working the door was friendly and took my order, packaged it and brought it to me. I did not have interaction with any other staff. Wait was not long for my order, but it seemed they cut off to-go ordering one order after mine. It was about an hour and 45 minutes before closing time, so just something to keep in mind for the off season. I'm sure during the summer they are too busy to consider doing that. The small dining room was full, clean, and sushi chefs and staff looked busy. Came at 8:30 on a Sunday evening, late June. We were lucky I guess that there was a table open. Very friendly staff, simple but nice interior. We had the shrimp and veg tempura. Battered lightly cooked perfectly, good veggie choice but the shrimp a bit smallish. Cream of crab soup was also excellent, slightly sweet with a generous amount of crab meat. My wife loved her seared scallops,p and I was very happy with a specialty roll with bits if tempura, avocado and seared tuna on top. one of the best places to get sushi at the beach, if not the best.. calamari is hard to beat, fenwick island roll is quite possibly my favorite sushi roll ever, coconut crab soup is a must have, ambiance is great and the service is always awesome - told reservations were necessary now adays and its true..the place was bumping the entire time we were there.. always have awesome specials too which is nice for sushi goers like my boyfriend and i that are pretty set in our ways (tonight we had calamari, an awesome tuna app with avo seaweed salad and crab imperial, and oysters on the half shell topped with an awesome salsa and king salmon) this place has been and will continue to be one of the few spots we will always frequent for date night - glad to have it close by and to watch it keep getting better and better read more
