Our first night in Ocean City and decided to try out Blue Fish for dinner. There were 14 of us, 3 kids and 11 adults. There were great options for everyone, we had two seniors and they wanted stir fry options and the kids wanted noodles and rice while a few others were fiending for sushi. They were packed when we arrived, but thank goodness they had waitlist option, so definitely get on that if you plan on going there (keep in mind that to do so, you'll need to do it on their website and the website only goes up to a party of 8, so you'll need to do the max number and give them a call and they'll adjust accordingly) Once we checked in, we waited for maybe 10 minutes and were seated on the patio. The drink order was taken, then appetizers and entrees. The server was very attentive and we really appreciated that she knew how hectic it could be dining with 14 people. She took the entree orders for the kids while the adults were figuring out what to order and the adults appetizers came out quickly along with the kids entrees first so they weren't hangry. All in all, we'd go back again, the sushi quality was great and price point was great too! All 14 of us left very happy and satisfied. read more

One of my top restaurants in ocean city. A very cute and modern interior, and great service. I opted to go the takeout route this time and they had a very easy online ordering system with a convenient drive through pickup window. The crab wontons were to die for and the general tso's shrimp was my favorite dish of my vacation! Can't go wrong with any menu item here, this is a must try for any local or tourist! read more

Blue Fish is one of the prettiest Japanese restaurants I have been to with the wooden seating, wood trimmed lights overhead, silk cherry blossom trees, light blue sheer curtains. This was our third visit; we have been coming every year. Food is fresh and delicious and the wait staff has been excellent. This year, we had the Pork Dumplings, Shrimp Tempura, Out of Control (avocado, tuna), and two Super Rolls (tuna and salmon) then finished with two mochi ice creams - Birthday cake and matcha. My family and I ordered takeout from Blue Fish and had a delightful meal. I underestimated the portion size here and definitely over-ordered. My husband and I shared the sashimi deluxe and the chefs were incredibly generous that night! We also ordered a few basic rolls to share: out of control roll, yellowtail scallion, salmon avocado and shrimp tempura roll. All the rolls were excellent and had a nice fish to rice ratio. They do seem to run a bit bigger than the basic rolls that I'm accustomed to but I am not complaining. The sashimi deluxe was good with the exception of a fishy piece or two that I had early on that was a bit off putting. My kids shared the house rice noodle and enjoyed it. I definitely would come back here again the next time I'm in town. Blue Fish is a great place for Asian food and it has a big enough menu that would accommodate both kids and adults. read more

Any time we're on vacation, we start craving Asian food. We were all so glad to eat here! Our youngest declared this to be her most favorite meal. The restaurant's interior is pretty. Since I'm from Philly and I access to really authentic Chinese food I usually don't order Chinese food in areas where there aren't that many Asian populations I thought I'd try lunch at bluefish restaurant. Start off with steamed dumplings- bland tasted as if these were frozen. Ordered Kung pao chicken.- taste was very bland. Also only vegetable was large amount of celery, and a few pieces of green pepper.- normally there green peppers , water chestnuts, carrots, and a little bit of celery. I literally had to pick out probably close to a cup of celery out of my dish. Disappointed with maybe six pieces of green peppers - the sauce it was basically soy dice,maybe garlic no spice - no chili - hardly any spice for the price of $20 I feel like I could've gotten this from a takeout Chinese at a strip mall somewhere and it would've tasted a lot better than this dish. Such a shame. maybe I should've ordered the sushi or maybe beef and broccoli I would think twice before ordering any Chinese food in Ocean City as you will not find any authentic flavors.. In town working for the past week and this is my second time come here. The food is delish and the staff is so nice! There is a sweet spot and if you discover it you won't have a long wait to sit down. I've tried the curry rice noodle, drunken noodles and now the Thai style lo mein. All have been fabulous! The restaurant may look small but is cozy and they make great use of space, with tables designed throughout the restaurant to maximize efficiency yet make you feel like you are not be in big crowded in by others. The sushi is a strength and one of their signature dishes. There are literally all kinds of sushi for you to order. If you can dream it, they can make it. Presentation is great, too. They literally put a lot of thought into making the dining experience enjoyable and memorable. And it shows from the moment you walk into the restaurant until you leave. We were still looking at new decor and designs within the restaurant as we were leaving, too. We ordered the Godzilla sushi, which is a combination of spicy and flavorful sushi for the palate. We also had the sushi sampler (tuna, salmon, wasabi, etc.), chicken lo mein and chicken pad thai. The dishes came out pretty quickly and the presentation of each is pictured with this review. One can see the lengths they go through to present a great product that also tastes delicious. The servers were attentive and waited on us with prompt regularity. They made sure we had plenty of drinks, utensils, etc. if we needed something else, they were not far away. Even taking care of the check was handled at the table by our server, which made the visit seamless. We really recommend this restaurant if you are looking for sushi, or other Chinese and Japanese dishes. There is a lot to choose from in Ocean City, but Blue Fish can easily compete with the lot of them and should be around a long time with the dishes they serve. read more

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! My boyfriend and I were in town for the Running Festival and we wanted to have a fancy dinner. We looked up spots on Yelp and saw this got great reviews so we decided to give it a shot. This place was hoppin in the off-season! At 6:30pm we had a 25-30 min wait for two people. We stood by the bar which only had 6 seats and was full. The bartender made a delicious mango margarita and Moscow mule for us that we took to our seats when our table was ready. It was almost exactly 25 mins of waiting for appreciated the correct wait time that was given. Now the food... my goodness it was amazing! We got the house salad thinking it was a side small bowl of salad.. this was huge! Served in a beautiful shell shaped bowl, the dressing soaked every piece of lettuce and was delicious. We then got our main course which was sushi and pad Thai! We got the Godzilla Roll, Red Dragon Roll and Rainbow Roll. I have had a lot of sushi but this was the best rainbow roll I have ever had. The avocado was perfectly ripe and creamy and the fish super fresh and melted in your mouth. We got the House Combo of chicken, beef and shrimp for the Pad Thai and it was delicious! The chicken and beef were tender, but a bit too fatty for my liking. The shrimp was perfectly cooked. Our waitress Rocio was delightful and very attentive. Even with tables still filling up as we left around 8, the entire staff had smiles and great attitudes. To say this is a place to hit is an understatement. Yes the exterior looks very sketchy...buy do not let that fool you! The interior is beautifully done, warm and cozy. Our server was very nice. We ordered 3 rolls and they were all good. Now if you really wanna test the quality of fish, you have to order nigiri/sashimi, which we did not, so take it with a grain of salt. But as far as roll, again they were pretty good. There was an unfortunate incident on our order, but our server handled it promply and professionally....that speaks volume about how much they care about their customers. We used to come fairly regularly, but I honestly can't remember the last time we went because it's always so busy that it's hard to get a table in the summer! Visited Blue Fish when we were on vacation. The waitlist option to get a table, made it very easy to see when we would be seated and how many parties were ahead of us. The seating was great, as we were on the covered patio. Very quiet even though there were lots of people eating. Sushi was to die for. I am a sushi snob and only love the freshest and best quality sushi. The rolls were top notch.
