This was our first time here for dinner. Our friends recommended this place. They have been here many times with their family members on special occasions. We came with our two friends, who recommended this place. They called to reserve our table when they first opened at 4 PM. The place actually opened a little after 4 PM. We were seated at a table for 4 across from the sushi bar. I loved my three lychee martinis for $12 each or $36 total, because lychee martinis are not so popular in the USA. I used to visit Japan three times per year. I used to love fresh lychee nuts for breakfast. The sushi entrees include a choice of one item either miso soup, house salad or seaweed salad. I upgraded my miso soup to their Thai curry soup with coconut milk broth, curry seasoning and jumbo lump crab for +$6 up charge. I enjoyed my Thai curry soup and house salad. I also enjoyed my spicy roll combo with spicy tuna roll, Misaki roll and dynamite roll for $48. The Misaki roll is made with tuna, spicy mayo, tempura bits and avocado. The sushi here is good quality. My bill for both of us was $121 excluding gratuity. Emma Grace C. served us very well. We will return here for more sushi. read more

We love Misaki and have been going there almost weekly for years! The food is always consistently delicious, the staff is friendly and attentive with great service. They never rush us and are family friendly. We've become friends with them over the years and love seeing everyone. They're like family. My spouse got a chicken teriyaki with a side of seaweed salad. Both he and my toddler liked the dish. We also got some vegetarian sushi(avocado and sweet potato). Tried to call for carry-out at 5:30 pm on a Tuesday and were told "we are not doing carry-out." Decided to just go dine-in and arrived at 7:15 pm & sat at the sushi bar. We (two people) watched MULTIPLE carry-out orders being rolled and boxed IN FRONT OF OUR FACES while we waited OVER AN HOUR for our rolls. This was a memorable evening. The menu had a large variety of sushi rolls. We enjoyed a few Specials. Our apps were pork belly skewers and miso soup. Moving onto to the second round I had Bethany Beach roll and my husband had the Sure Shot roll and Blue Fin tuna over rice. So delicious. Awful awful business plan. They do not take walk ins or carry outs but there is absolutely no where to make reservations. They say you have to call for reservations but never answer the phone. I was so hopeful for this place... Service was only OK. We were seated immediately but the server did not come for about 15 minutes but the place was not busy nor full so we are not sure the issue. The sushi was also OK... it seemed students were the sushi chefs? The sushi rice was dry and had no sushi flavor. Man, the sushi places at the beach can be difficult to get food from. I've yet to try Flying Fish in Fenwick (literally every time I've called every reservation is booked and they're not taking to go orders) but I've eaten at Misaki a few times, both dine in and to go. As I mentioned, getting in here can be difficult. It is VERY hard to get through to them on the phone and if/when you do get through to them, there is often a long wait for carryout (I've waited almost 2 hours before). Yesterday I was craving sushi and didn't even bother with Flying Fish; I called Misaki to place a takeout order. I tried calling multiple times at around 5:30 and wasn't able to get through, like at all. I've walked in here before looking for a seat and they've told me they're not seating any more that night, so when I drove to Misaki from Fenwick shortly after 6 PM I wasn't expecting much. To my surprise, I was warmly greeted and immediately seated at the sushi bar. I started with a lychee martini. I've had this drink before at numerous other restaurants and this might be my favorite version. It was strong like a martini is supposed to be but also very smooth; the lychee flavor tasted natural, not artificial. I would definitely recommend this drink to anyone and will definitely order it again. I've tried the shinsonic, fireball, fenwick island, and fugazi rolls and found them all to be excellent. I really liked the fenwick island roll - they use fresh scallops which gives the roll a great flavor. The shinsonic roll is also great - it's nice and spicy and doesn't overly rely on sauce to make the flavor. I tried the fugazi roll for the first time last night and loved it, I'd definitely order it again. The service last night from Karley/Kayleigh (can't remember her name) was warm and welcoming. I was dining by myself and some servers ignore solo diners; this server warmly welcomed me and was friendly and efficient throughout the meal. It's pretty surprising that a sushi spot in a seasonal resort town is on par with sushi restaurants in major cities like DC and NYC. Believe it, Misaki is awesome! read more

However, this weekend, on a rainy Saturday for our daughter's 16 th birthday, I tried 3x to place a carry out order for sushi all rolls, 20 in all. Each call resulted in something to the effect of "it's too much food, we can't take an order that big". Really? A carry out restaurant that cannot accommodate 20 rolls? Tell me a hour. Tell me 90 minutes. Just don't tell me "we can serve you". Sad. This place has good food, I just cannot evaluate it this year. read more

What a sad day... we ordered take out like so many times before from one of our go to spots. It was one of the worst experiences ever. When we ordered it was going to take 2 hours to pick up at 9pm. Picked up order super excited to eat (starving too) ordered 2 sashimi dinners $40 each plus rolls totaling $213. When we opened our order.. no sashimi but someone else's dinner! Not just other sushi but cucumber and rice rolls! We called and said we would be right up (literally 2 minutes away) they locked the door and said they were closed.. then said the people's order who we got were not bringing back out order! Lol like we would want sashimi that went to someone's house first. They did refund after we made a big deal. The rolls we did get looked more like a casserole then sushi. The hot rolls were cold and dry. So disappointing... we won't be back. You might get lost looking for it. You might not believe anything delicious could come from a lil hole in the wall, but this place is AMAZING. I will never ever go to The Cultured Pearl in Rehoboth beach for overpriced horrible service ever again! I absolutely love the service I have received and recommend every special chefs sushi/sashimi plate. Very creative, pretty and delicious. This has become the standard go-to at least once every trip to Bethany beach. It is not easy finding a good sushi staple at the beach (shocker). My parents introduced me to it and because they almost never eat out and generally don't like eating out, (my moms an amazing cook), the fact they come here each time tells me this was a place to trust. This is absolutely the best sushi on the Eastern Shore. I have been here multiple times; I can tell you the consistency is amazing. You can expect fresh, tasty sushi each and every visit. I'm not really sure where to start. First off I'm a Lifetime Titanium Platinum Marriott Bonvoy, which is an indication of how much I eat out. I regularly have the Sashimi Dinner Combo. Satisfying. Tried calling twice for a takeout order & nobody picked up so we just made our way over to place it in person. We get there & they say "company policy is you have to call for takeout orders..." I say we did try calling multiple times & nobody picked up & were here so can't we just order now. She said once again it was company policy so she made me step OUTSIDE of the restaurant to call in the pickup order. My boyfriend and I were craving sushi, and we are beyond happy we chose this restaurant! We ordered the Misaki Dinner for Two, and it came with a choice of a salad or soup and nigiri, sashimi, and sushi rolls (we were able to chose a roll from the menu). They also have fresh wasabi!!! My boyfriend and I inhale food at an alarming rate, so we also ordered the Fish On roll. We absolutely loved the ambiance and the food! Hungry for some sushi, we found this on Yelp (of course) in Bethany and decided to go. There was some type of awning construction going on so missed the sign. Not much outdoor lighting. It was dim with the rest of the stores on that small strip closed. We made reservations so was seated promptly. However, it took the server awhile to get to us. We ordered salmon poke, tuna samba, shrimp & veg tempura, and the lighthouse salad. All the starter dishes were good except the tuna samba. The mixture was tasteless, but the chips were good. We did love the salad though. It was delicious. The tempura was fresh and crispy. Just the way we like it. For the main course, we ordered chicken teriyaki, shin sonic, bam bam, rainbow, and black pearl rolls. Out of all these main dishes, we only liked bam bam. Others were bland. Disappointing for the money. But, if you've never tried Japanese beer, you should get Kirin. Great thirst quencher! read more

Yum! Really fresh and some of the best sushi I've had in a while. Was recommended to us by locals. We tried the miso edamame, calamari, gyoza and 4 rolls. This is a pretty good sushi restaurant. The service is friendly and the fish is fresh. Most of the rolls have tempura in them and we are not huge tempura fans so we were very limited in what we could order. We had: Dragon roll - one of the few rolls without tempura - very good Tuna Belly appetizer - very good Tuna Sashimi - tasty Scallop Sashimi - good but they put a tiny slice of lime on each individual slice. It totally overpowered the flavor of the fish. Salmon roe with quail egg - tasty Tamago - tasty Surf Claim sushi - tasty but a bit chewy - I am not a huge raw clam fan. Tuna sushi - tasty Smoked Salmon sushi - good The pickled ginger was inedible, way too strong. Both the hubby and I started to cough right after a taste. We are both big pickled ginger fans too. We've spent our summers in the Delaware shore for several years now. Have been to Misaki many times but not so much since the Covid outbreak. Decided to give it a try and order take out, must say I was disappointed. The cost cutting was very obvious to us. Rainbow roll with literally a small patch of fish on it and razor thin avocado, tuna and salmon rolls should be called rice rolls with a teeny piece of fish, seriously. We could barely see the fish. Not sure what is going on, I hope the business is ok but I have to say we were very dissatisfied. Also the rolls themselves were sloppy, not tight or well made. because the avocado was so thin it was breaking off. We have been plenty of times before and after the renovation and were always pleased with service and food but this time I really could not believe the portions and amount of rice in each roll. We eat out often and like many others enjoy a good meal and are perfectly happy spending money on good food but will not be coming back. Nothing insults me more than a business that is cost cutting. IT SCREAMS CHEAP. Saving money at the customers expense will never pay off. They can fool the tourists but not the regulars. For a good sushi experience Sushi Cafe in North Ocean City blows this place away. Sorry but I really hope this place gets it together. read more
