¡Margarita!
Aubrey W.

This hot day called for cold margs and chips and salsa. Great food! Great service! Arissa was super welcoming and took great care of us. The perfect place for a midday break when you don't want to deal with traffic. We are so happy we stumbled upon this spot. Highly recommend.

Great parking. Clean restaurant with lots seating (inside and out) and TVs to watch the Sunday games. The food was very good and the margaritas were amazing.

Quesadilla

"Can we go to The Salted Rim!?" "Can we go to The Salted Rim!?" "Can we go..." Finally we did. And... well not great, but not terrible. You should know it was a Sunday and a note posted on the bathroom door way way way back in the back of the restaurant a sign said the Rim was short staffed and to be patient. So yeah service was minimal to nonexistent which is too bad because she seemed like a fine person. C'est la vie. We had the Veggie quesadilla (me) and hamburger sliders (her); we started with some Queso. One of us liked the Queso. It was too thin, too soupy and decidedly not velvety. Plus a general complaint I have: why do most restaurants serve drippy Queso or salsa and chips without providing side plates? Need we have to ask? The sliders were good. The quesadilla better than expected and were quite substantial but lacked taste, so yeah me! Our drinks were not refilled and a horrifically dirty condiments bottle did not go with much of a mea culpa. "Can we go to The Salted Rim!?" Maybe not.

Local water hole with friendly staff and food that's overpriced for the quality. Can't recommend eating here.

Busy night during Fire and Ice. Some confusion about who would be our server. Delicious signature cocktail! Loved the fajita special!

Papa Grande's coastal taqueria is a treat in coastal delaware. No it's not the most authentic…read moremexican food, and no the bar service is not perfect (getting just neat mezcal was nearly impossible), but the food is good, the vibes are even better, and it's a coastal community, we should all just chill! The vibes here are immaculate - this is what you imagine when you think coastal taqueria. From the wooden building to the bizarre layout, this is it. You can't go wrong with that! The hot sauces are homemade, the salsa tasted fresh, everything from a condiment perspective was good. Now again was it authentic, no, but come on... If you have to order two things I would get the corn appetizer - it is honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten in delaware, and then the surf and turf burrito because it is epic! Everything I tried was good. The drink situation could use some help...the margarita was fine, but i really wanted neat mezcal and that was incomprehsible to them to the point that I ended up with a mezcal margarita that had anejo mezcal in it...sad We'll be back!

As soon as we pulled in we noticed the lack of parking, honestly at no fault to the restaurant despite that being a complaint amongst reviews. I popped out and sent my bf on his manly duties to fight for a parking spot while I secured a table. I walked in and was immediately sat along the windows to the left of the hostess table. Granted, we are a party of two which absolutely helped a quick seating. Immediately our waiter greeted me and very kindly offered to either take my drink order or return when my bf arrived. In the middle of that time he dropped a pitcher of water, and rounded back very quickly once my bf was seated. We did a round of drinks and an appetizer to start. Ordering our meals halfway through our app. We stuck to non-alcoholic drinks as it was the back end of our trip (lol), so no review of the cocktails although a reliable source complimented the marg! We ordered the fried brussel sprouts as our app, there was no shortage of bacon nor balsamic glaze and we really enjoyed! For our meals we both ordered the steak fajitas with corn tortillas, and I asked for extra peppers. It ended up being a $2 upcharge however, I feel like I am always shorted veggies when I'm down the beach and they gave quite a generous amount. As for the fajitas/steak, it was very well seasoned and very tender. Ultimately we had enough leftover to take home and throw in a wrap for lunch! For the cost, I felt the portions were quite fair. Overall I think we will absolutely be back. Highlights are the service and the value of the meal. I've had some very awful experiences with restaurants in OC and this place definitely gave me some hope. I would love to come back for their awesome sounding happy hour, as well as to try some tacos!

Tons of energy and makes each drink like he is making it for himself. Tons of professionalism and great host! Felt like I was sitting in my own kitchen with friends. This place this week, makes my A list . Seats are a premium but def worth the wait !

Upscale Flavor in Downtown Lewes, but Something Was Missing…read more While on a business trip to Lewes, Delaware, I was in the mood for Mexican and Agave came highly recommended, so I decided to give it a try. What I really enjoyed right away was the location. This isn't along the main roadway or highway area that most people associate with Lewes, the more business-heavy stretch with fast food and chain spots. This is tucked into the charming downtown area near the canal, surrounded by neat little houses and a truly quaint, cool atmosphere. It's a great setting for an evening out. Agave is definitely more of an upscale Mexican restaurant, and the interior reflects that. Stylish, clean, and thoughtfully designed. I took a few photos because the ambiance adds to the experience. One thing that surprised me was that they don't bring out complimentary chips and salsa. At most Mexican restaurants, that's just part of the experience. Not a deal breaker, but it does set an expectation when you sit down. I started with the empanadas. They looked different from what I'm used to, but they were very tasty and full of flavor. They came topped with a fresh chopped tomato mixture, almost like a light salsa, along with a lime. After squeezing the lime over the top, the flavors really popped. Unique presentation and very flavorful. For my entrée, I ordered the veggie burrito. I asked the waitress if it came with chips on the side, and she said no, which was a little disappointing, especially considering the price point and upscale feel. When the burrito arrived, the presentation wasn't great, as you can see in the photo, but once again, the flavor delivered. Overall, I'm a bit mixed on Agave. The portion sizes were average, nothing extraordinary, but the food itself was definitely flavorful. For me, the lack of chips and salsa and the absence of a side with the burrito made it feel like something was missing, particularly at this price level. If I could offer one suggestion, adding chips and salsa or even a small side with the burrito would elevate the experience and better match the upscale positioning. Flavor-wise, they're doing a lot right. For now, though, I probably wouldn't return on my next trip.
