Wish we knew about this place before we ordered it for the ride home. Sushi was fresh and delish. Definitely would get again

We walked in with 3 adults and 4 kids ranging from ages 2 to 5 at 5pm on Sunday. We didn't have to wait for a table, but they had no high chairs. We were a little concerned that our experience would not be so child friendly (despite the Yelp tag that it is kid friendly), but our waitress Kathleen was so accommodating that everyone thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. We were able to split the chicken teriyaki entree amongst 4 kids and order sushi a la carte, which was fresh and well prepared, and came out relatively quickly. The rolls were delicious and presented beautifully, complete with fried shrimp heads, which is my favorite! It's a rather small restaurant and there was a line of customers waiting as we were leaving, but the food was great. It may even be better than some sushi restaurants in DC! We will definitely go back. read more

Yes this place is a bit on the pricey side and yes their rolls are a bit smaller than the average. But you're are paying for quality. I ordered the Thai crab soup which was very delicious. Large crab meat in the soup. Their rolls are delectable. Just order two extra rolls then you normally do. To fill you up since they are small. My son ordered the filet which was made perfectly. DOCKING A STAR SIMPLY FOR AMBIANCE. Not really my vibe inside but the quality of food here is noticeably better than a majority in the area.

First time in Delaware and had to check out their sushi. Went to Misaki and glad I went. Service was very friendly and the food was great! Had the Filet Mignon appetizer and the Special (can't remember the name of it). One word, delicious. While the food and service were great, was not expecting the bill to be so high. $28 for a "half off" appetizer, a dinner plate (8 small rolls) and one beer. Left feeling hungry. read more

What a fantastic find! The best sushi and service at the beach - the small staff (more like a family) and atmosphere (intimate but not stuffy) really make my husband and I feel at home here, whether dining at a table or the sushi bar. (admittedly, the sushi bar is our favorite spot to sit, and many times the only available place as this small restaurant is super popular among the locals and fills up fast!) You can easily see that this restaurant takes pride in what they do - it shows in every aspect! Definitely give the special roll a try - we have never been disappointed. Unassuming spot in small strip center, being from California, we would not have thought of Sushi at a Delaware beach. We went with local friends and loved everything we had. The sashimi was fresh with good texture. The chef removes the carapace from the ama ebi heads before frying - making them totally "munchable". The tempura batter is light on a nice assortment of veggies with two prawns (a good value at $10). We would return! read more

Good sushi bad service. Carry out is the way to go so you don't have to deal with being treated terribly! But don't get your hopes up cause they're rude to you at carry out too. But otherwise the sushi is great I recommend the tropical storm! read more

The sushi rolls are the best in the area (including Rehoboth, Fenwick, and Ocean City) and Ryan's service is impeccable. The specials are always unique and different, but I am always delighted when I see the fresh ocean trout roll/sashimi return as the nightly appetizer. read more

I drove by one night and almost missed it. It's a small, quaint restaurant and I love that. The sushi...well, there are not enough words to express how great it is!! We had them cater several work events as well and the guests LOVE THEM!!! You really feel like you get their undivided attention. I recommend this to all you sushi lovers out there! read more

This used to be the best sushi place around, but it recently switched owners and my favorite sushi place is now under par. The rolls have gotten more expensive, yet the quality of fish and size of each roll has decreased. The flavor just is not the same. I would no longer recommend this restaurant. I only rated it two stars even though I didn't get a chance to try the food. It's a resort town and people warned me that Misaki is very busy so you must call early to get your takeout. I called at 4:10. The person who answered the phone said "we don't open until 5:00." I asked if I could please place my order and then pick it up at 5:00. I didn't get a response because he'd hung up on me already. That was terribly rude. I suppose they have more business than they need and aren't interested in my takeout order. read more

Oh boy.....where do I begin to unravel this sushi mystery. All I can decipher from the lack of service here is that they absolutely dislike carryout patrons. Let me share this vacation nightmare with prospective sushi shoppers in the Bethany Rehoboth resort area. Four people craving a delicious sushi meal after a long day at a local waterpark. Our driver (we will just call him Bil), places an order, a few tempura rolls, rock lobster, tropical storm, rainbow roll, princess roll, and some dumplings. Our driver along with numerous members of our vacationing party proceed to wait...and wait....and wait....and wait. Finally two hours later, the rolls are ready. I believe it would have taken less time to sail on a ship, catch the needed fish, gather seaweed, and create the rolls ourselves. Overall the rolls were not spectacular, they were overpriced and far from over pleasing. Next time we will try Flying Fish, we didn't this time because they didn't offer carry out......and neither should this place. Sorry Misaki, carry out shouldn't take hours. read more

I came here expecting decent sushi, and decent service. I went in thinking it wouldn't too busy, but unfortunately it was. But that was my mistake, so I asked if I could order take out, and they "allowed" it. First I work in the food industry, I know dealing with customers is a drag and sucks sometimes, but that's what you are getting paid for... literally if you are a hostess. I'm not asking for small talk, just a simple non-condescending tone of voice with no rolls of the eyes. Is that really hard? That wasn't the worst of it. The sushi that I paid a ridiculous price for was definitely not worth it. Each piece was no wider than a nickle. In the future I will definitely go to saketumi in Rehoboth. It is more bang for your money. The portions are larger, and cheaper than that of this places. I would say the quality is greater at saketumi as well. Thanks for nothing misaki. As a local, and avid sushi eater, you dissapoint me. read more

This place is a local legend, a temple of satisfaction. It is the best sushi at the beach and it is in a strip mall at the end of south bethany. Get the specials -- Do it!! The atmosphere doesn't matter but as a young person (relatively... for beach residents) it is nice to occasionally see other younger (below forty) people enjoying sushi; sometimes on dates even! And they are there to impress their dates because its been the best sushi at the beach forever. The sushi there is soooo good. There is sometimes a significant wait for a table and the tap water used to taste funky. So thankful for the owners and staff that make this place great. read more

Seated immediately for our 6:30 reservation. It was ladies night and women got 25% off some appetizers. Nice touch. The 4 of us ordered a bunch of stuff. Everything was very good. I've never written a review before today, but buyer beware of this place!!! I just spent over 2 hours in Misaki Sushi waiting for our food to be served. Service was sub par with wait staff forgetting drinks , saying " we're searching for a Kirin Light" to be told they couldn't find one. This used to be one of my favorites in Bethany but not again. NEVER! I'd rather drive to Rehoboth and go to Cultured Pearl or Stingray. read more

You have to try the Bam Bam roll or the firecracker. No liquor, but good wines at reasonable prices. Comfortable. Not fancy but nice. You will need reservations as the locals love this place. This is by far the best sushi restaurant ever. We had the fillet appetizer,Bam-Bam roll, Firecracker roll and the Fish On roll. All were fabulous. We had the tempura Oreo dessert. What a meal. While the sushi has been good when we can get it, half the times we've tried to order from here we've walked away since the wait has been an hour or longer. Tonight we called for carry-out in the late afternoon and were told we had to wait until they opened at 5pm to place an order. At 5pm we were the first people at the door (trying to avoid past delays) but were still told it would be 45min to fill our sushi order since they took three orders by phone after telling us we had to wait until 5pm. Excellent! It is not cheap but oh, so good! Thursday night though is 1/2 price appetizer and 1/2 off bottles of wine, and they are fine with you making a meal of appetizers(the beef is great!). But you will probably be tempted to get a few rolls too as they are just wonderful. Busy place, even off season. So glad we live here now and can go there all the time. read more

Stopped by at lunch time was told only open for dinner. The man was not very communicative. Came back at dinner time ( off season) and was told you have to have reservations. Fantastic sushi! Can't recommend this place high enough for their quality of sushi, which is off the charts. Wonderful assortment of sushi rolls and daily specials. Great appetizer called the Tuna Samba and tasty deserts if you still have room. Try the lemonade cocktail, very tasty! A great sushi place and a must stop for us when we are in town. A warning though during the busy times, make your reservations early as this place fills up quickly. read more

I have been eating sushi prepared by chef Yama for close to 25 years. Before he worked in Delmarva he was a sushi chef for many years at Matuba in Bethesda. The eel was first-rate and the tuna was fresh and generous in proportion. read more
