I've been coming here for years, and moved with them from their old location to this one. This space is light and airy, the parking is easy, and they validate the garage parking. I see Tess, and I normally get a cut and single process color to cover my gray, with a partial highlight thrown in every 6ish months. I love Tess- she's a cutie, very kind, gives a great cut and color, I like the way she styles my hair, and I feel like we typically finish early which I appreciate. She's offered great suggestions for products, as well. read more

I don't know who cut my hair. She had curly hair; it was dark and long. She was perfect in every way, listening to my needs, Vicky, maybe. Really everyone is good; there isn't a bad fit there. Nice place, professional easy location. I really like it. I believe this is a new location for the last four years. read more

I recently had my hair done here and requested a warm-toned balayage. Unfortunately, the end result was very orange, and I had to pay extra to have it bleached again in order to correct the color. The salon itself is beautiful, clean, and welcoming, and my colorist was kind and professional. However, the outcome did not meet my expectations, and I later realized I had chosen a colorist who seemed fairly new. I recommend doing thorough research on the colorist you select. I won't name names, but I've included a photo showing how my hair looked nearly two weeks after my appointment. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. Fried and cut off 12 inches of my hair! Left me with black tips. Red orange yellow and green throughout my hair. I had to pay over $1000 for a 9.5 hour colour correction after they fried off my hair. They gaslit me and have taken no accountability after several attempts to allow them to. NATALIE left bleach on my hair for 1 hour and 8 minutes, and then later stated she only left it on for 25 minutes. I have time stamped photos of this. read more

I rarely write negative reviews, but unfortunately my experience at this salon was extremely disappointing. I had two consultations before my appointment and clearly explained that I wanted to keep my brown hair while adding two money pieces and subtle highlights. I even brought photos to show the exact color I was hoping for, and I was reassured that this look was achievable. However, I left the salon with brassy orange hair and an uneven haircut, which was the complete opposite of what I requested. I had spent a long time growing my hair, so having it cut unevenly and over-processed was incredibly frustrating. The service itself was also uncomfortable. During the bleaching process, the application felt very rough and my hair was pulled quite aggressively at the bowl, which was painful and concerning. After the blow dry, I was told I should come back in six weeks to fix the color, which was surprising considering the color was clearly not what had been discussed. It also felt strange to be asked to pay before the blow dry was finished, especially when the damage was already apparent. To their credit, when I returned, the senior educator and her assistant were much kinder and did try to correct the situation. I appreciate their effort, but unfortunately the final result still wasn't close to what I had originally asked for. I have had my hair lightened and colored at other salons before and have never experienced this level of discomfort or damage. Sadly, my hair now feels very compromised and the color is still not what I wanted. Because of this experience, I would not feel comfortable returning or recommending this salon. Below is a photo of what I requested compared to what I received. Truly disappointing. Total cost for damaged hair at Mirror Mirror:$1,094 + tip. read more

Madison Stuhan has been doing my hair for over a year now, and I truly couldn't recommend her more. She is the kind of hairdresser who really listens to what you want and executes it flawlessly--but also knows when to gently rein you in if an idea might be a little too crazy (which I very much appreciate!). I always leave loving my hair. Because I've been going to her for so long, she truly understands my hair, and I feel like it just gets better and better every time I see her. On top of her talent, she's become a friend, and I genuinely enjoy every appointment sitting in her chair at Mirror Mirror. It's always a great experience from start to finish. read more

Went there and forgot to post about it. Had a great time, I chopped my hair because it was needed, I liked the result a lot!! The vibe of the salon is so chic. They also taught me how to style it and that's a big plus. The hair washing part and massaging is my faaavvvvv The only thing is I had to wait about 30 min for my appointment that I previously booked, but other than that, everything was nice. read more

I got my haircut by Carlie. I begged her and reiterated multiple times not to lose any length and to cut 1inch or less and she literally cut 4inches off. Not only that, it also is very uneven. One side is noticeably shorter than the other and there are some noticeably long strands that she forgot to cut that were part of my original length so you can see how much she removed. The worst part, when she finished cutting she ensured me she took LESS THAN AN INCH off. Unfortunately I measured with the piece she accidentally didn't cut and it was indeed 4 inches off. The purpose of this review is not to tear her down, but to please not make the same mistake with another client. It took me 2 years to grow out my hair from my last haircut and Carlie just set back all my progress. I pray she doesn't make the same mistake with anyone else. read more

Love my girl Madison!! Been going to her since she was in hair school and we happened to relocate to the same city, such a blessing!! She is a joy to be around and will talk you through every detail and decision with your cut or color (she does my blonde!). I always feel so valued when I sit in her chair and I hope she knows how much her clients appreciate her as both a hairstylist and person! I've sent numerous friends to her and will continue to do so! Can't rave about her enough!! read more

This salon is completely dishonest, inconsiderate and overpriced. I have tried several different stylists over several years now. The latest was having them ask me a couple of days before to reschedule my appointment time (AGAIN) and when I told them I could not (I work too), they called at 7 pm the night before to tell me my stylist was sick and couldn't do my hair. Just the day before they were trying to change the time of the appointment (not the day) and now suddenly she's sick instead. Then there was the time I checked in and was told to wait and they forgot I was there. Meanwhile my stylist left thinking I was a no-show. The front desk staff is disrespectful and too busy admiring themselves or playing on their personal phones to offer any customer service at all. And if and when they do, they are extremely condescending. Additionally the prices are high for the (lack of quality) skill shown. Then there is the noise level. This is not the place to be pampered, respected or enjoyed. read more

Recently moved back to Austin and was looking for a new hair salon. It's always so scary trying a new hair stylist, but I decided to give Mirror Mirror a shot based on great reviews! As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the girls at the front desk. The salon itself is super cute and their lighting is top notch! Lol I had an appointment with Brandy who was super sweet, patient, and listened to what I was looking for. Let me tell you...she did a phenomenal job executing exactly what I wanted. She finished my hair with a blow out and can I just say, WOW!! I'm so happy with the results and even happier I have found my new place and stylist! read more

The most amazing colorist in Austin! I came to Maddi with a desperate need for color correction, and she listened to what I wanted and made it happen. she is a magician. Shes also so easy to talk to, and I love spending 3 hours of my day with her! will never see anyone else in Austin. read more

Lucy really listened and totally got what I wanted to do with my hair. It looks great and is so much easier to manage.

I love my hair lady Lisa! Ever since moving to Austin I've been searching for the next trusted person to touch my hair. I found Lisa on the first try! She's very efficient in her work and she's the sweetest person to be around. The vibe of the place is so amazing too! I love the pink walls and decor. Highly recommend Mirror Mirror! read more

Greg Pike is an outstanding colorist! He was my colorist in Chicago and I now live in LA, but when I have an opportunity to go to Austin, I make sure to schedule with him. The salon is also very nice and the rest of the staff have been wonderful the 2 times I have been there. read more

Had my hair cut and was extremely disappointed. Felt uncomfortable in the chair because the gal cutting my hair was very unfriendly and rude. It was almost like I was talking to a wall. I had very high expectations for this place from what I heard, but I certainly did not have a pleasant experience. Not to mention I didn't even receive a goodie bag, it had me feeling discriminated against. Thx Becca you will not be recommended, nor will I ever be back. Xoxo! read more

I never write negative reviews, but I left this salon and felt like garbage. The hair job I had done was fine, and I won't name drop this person bec she is held in high regard at this salon. I waited several weeks to see this person, and was beyond excited. Toward the end of my time in her chair, she tells me that it was basically a mistake I was scheduled with her, due to her short work week & extensions clientele, and I'd need to schedule with someone else next time. I was extremely uncomfortable and felt embarrassed. I apologized to her more than once. The front desk girl then told me "it was a mistake" that I was scheduled with this person, as I was paying. I apologized again, and left with my tears in my eyes. I came for a service, paid, and left APOLOGIZING for being there. What was said to me was insensitive, disrespectful, and frankly it was rude. Not only has this happened, but my husband said the front desk staff has been very rude to him twice over the phone in the recent past due to scheduling. He couldn't get a word in. We wanted to love Mirror Mirror, but just like many of the one 1 star reviews- unfortunately my husband and I have had a terrible experience. I hope that this stylist and the front desk staff can be more sensitive and kind to other NEW clients. There are other ways to gently let a client know that you are unable to see them in the future. There's nothing worse than coming in excited for a service and leaving feeling like garbage. I've never been treated like this before by any service provider in West Lake. My family will not be back to this salon. read more

This is truly such an amazing salon, everything about it. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by the sweetest hospitality team who will offer you different beverage options. You can have complete confidence in who ever you see at the salon because all of their stylists are super talented. Byron the Manager goes above and beyond for the staff and the salon. Martha Lynn the salon owner is an amazing person also who sets the example for ambition and resilience & her salon is so welcoming and inviting. The decor and setup of the salon makes you happy to be there besides just getting your hair done. I truly can't say enough amazing things about Mirror Mirror Salon & the people who work in it. I previously wrote a review about my bad experience with one stylist and the bad balayage after she was 45+ minutes late to starting my appointment. I was understanding but the sequence of events was enough to write a review. Well I was dumb enough to go back to Mirror Mirror to another stylist for a cut. And I'm now editing my review to add a second bad experience. I cut off about 4-5 inches and asked for layers and she hacked my hair. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or just isn't trained in cutting proper layers. I will never go back to this salon. I have now had two bad experiences with two separate stylists. I used to think this was a top salon in Austin. And now it's clear they don't know what they're doing. Attaching photos from both experiences, about six months apart. Do not recommend this salon. read more

The salon was so cute and very clean. Olivia did an amazing job and my hair has never felt softer.

This is my favorite place I've gotten my hair done in the last 10 years. My stylist, Cheyanne, is SO GOOD. One of the worst haircuts I've ever gotten in my life. I just moved to Austin and the first cut at another salon was bad so I heavily researched my next for a major job interview and this was worse. Finally got my hair cut after a year and wanted to try a new place. Mirror Mirror is taking a lot of Covid precautions which is great! That's one of the reasons I decided to try them out. The only thing that was frustrating was their text message bot. You had to text when you arrive and they would text you when to come in. I felt like l was texting this bot for 10 min just to say I was here because it kept wanting to schedule a new appointment. ‍ BUT besides that, Natalie did my hair cut and she had a special where I got a free treatment! My hair needed some TLC and she did such an AMAZING job. I loved my hair and how she did the waves. Definitely recommend Natalie and will be coming here in the future!
