    Crispy Goat Cheese Salad Dinner

Very cute cozy place, I had the Dover sole almondine, it was delicious. Prisoner wine was amazing paired well with food and appetizers, we had calamari, oysters and claims, bread was fresh. The server was pleasant and friendly they open the restroom door for you upon entry. Very nice ambience

We brought some out of town friends for a late night dinner on a Monday. The restaurant was full of patrons, and it was a warm evening, despite all the doors being open. They seated us immediately, took our drink order, and brought us a bread basket. We shared a tray of seafood -- shrimp, oysters and crab claws on ice. I had the chilled artichoke, which was tender with a delicious mustard vinaigrette . I also had the onion soup, thick rich and dark with a toasted crust that turned into endless loops of cheese. My friends enjoyed the steak frites, roasted chicken, seafood linguini and salmon. The restaurant has a charming rustic vibe, with wood bistro tables, vintage silver mirrors and enormous wax dripped candles. We were too full to partake of dessert, though the choices are excellent. The food was exquisite, the service was professional. The timing of the meal lagged, however; we were almost the last table, though we did not want to linger. Au revoir, Miramar, until we meet again!

I went here for an event and everything worked out just fine. There were probably 100 people at the dinner. So there were a lot of moving pieces. The wait staff was attentive, and the food was good- whether it was chicken or salmon, veggies, bread and dessert. The restaurant is way bigger than I thought- an additional side room...I love the large candles that they have here. Nice bar area as well. Very pretty restaurant. Check them out.

Here's what you need to know: overall, it was a nice experience worth 4 stars but the nice service makes me want to rate it 5 stars. The food isn't perfect, but there were some absolutely delicious representations of classic cooking that are absolutely worth highlighting - the onion soup gratinee (amazing decadent depth of flavor in the broth and perfect cheese blend) and the escargot (incredible garlic butter) are at the top. The goat cheese salad needs work - the fritters are unrefined and don't even have seasoned batter and are just large globs of goat cheese, the mussels are fresh and enjoyable but the broth is too creamy but thankfully introduces enough acid through the wine to attempt to balance. The house bread was not good, unfortunately, and needs improvement - lacked texture and flavor. The chocolate terrine was well made and used good quality chocolate - the green sauce however could be enhanced and didn't add anything to the dessert but didn't detract from it. Sebastian's service was very nice. $100 for 2 guests

I have been here many times for special occasions and just for dinner. I've also sat outside numerous times with my dog. Always a great experience.

Miramar is definitely the shining star on its strip. With music playing outside to long standing candles illuminating every dining table, to the extremely attentive and friend wait staff, I absolutely adore this restaurant and the mussels appetizer and scallops entree. When in Highland, you absolutely must check out this establishment!

Definitely one of my favorite spots in the northern suburbs. One of my favorite atmospheric locations around by far- such good vibes. The banana bread pudding is one of the best desserts I've had! The steak was lovely as well, though I wish the fries were a bit different. I found mine overcooked for how tiny they were. The servers are always so kind and pleasant. I highly recommend coming at least once, especially for a nice holiday dinner

Fantastic spot for a date night! I made a reservation on OpenTable and it was ready on time. The ambiance was very romantic with cool looking candles at every table and dim lighting. My main concern with the whole experience is that I picked up my mojito and the entire bottom of the glass broke out from under it right when I lifted it up. The drink was made and served in a broken glass. I got mojito all over my nice dress, the table, and the ground. While the servers were very quick to clean it all up and bring another drink, I was surprised to see they did not comp it on the bill or even apologize. This is not good taste for an upscale restaurant. The food was all prepared very well, however, there was lack of seasoning across the board. Come here for the French onion soup alone! Mojito - very pretty and good flavor, too much ice and barely any drink Bread - basic and I'd expect a higher quality butter than the cheap foil packs Meat, cheese, and olive tray - meats and cheese were tasty, but the olives were under seasoned. The lettuce took up a lot of the plate French onion soup - that cheese pull was unreal and the base had a great depth of flavor. Can't come here and not get this soup. Roasted duck - fat was rendered perfectly. The dish was overall lacking salt, but was better with the orange sauce poured over it. Lamb shank - fall off the bone tender. The Basil really elevated the mashed potatoes. I absolutely enjoyed my date night here even with the drink snafu. It very much felt like a French bistro.

On Sunday we hosted a celebration dinner at one of our favorite North Shore restaurants. The festive holiday decorations made our niece's birthday party with family and close friends all the more special. Omar was our server on this visit and he enhanced the occasion with charm, humor and his attendance to every detail. Everyone enjoyed the evening and what they had to eat and drink, especially the birthday girl, who had been looking forward to ordering a chocolate Martini since her last time here! We have learned over the years that Miramar will always exceed our expectations with great food and excellent service. We love coming here!!!

Absolutely loved this French bistro! The only thing that they were lacking was a little more authentic French flavor, but the food quality and service is some of the best that you'll find in the suburban area! Highly recommend the French onion soup if you're hear (not photographed)

As expected, the restaurant was packed, both inside and in the beautiful courtyard. Families filled the dining room, with children of all ages at about 90% of the tables. The team at Pomeroy has been so consistent and professional, that all of our dishes were delivered at a perfect and steady pace, and qualities remained high. Although we got a different server each time we went, they were all very welcoming, friendly, and attentive.  This time, Carlisle did such a wonderful job even though she was super busy, and she wished me a happy Mother's Day several times to make sure that my day was special.  I must mention that the friendly hostess greeted me with well wishes too, and said happy Mother's day again when we left. We had noticed that they had replaced the couch in front of the courtyard fireplace with more tables.  Who could blame them when they had so many patrons to seat.  However, the courtyard still looked gorgeous. Now on to the food and drinks.  I had a mocktail Bleu 75 ($13) that's my favorite, my husband had a glass of chardonnay ($17), our daughter had a Le Spritz Strawberry ($16).  We shared an order of Sea Scallops ($23) and a Warm Tomato Tarte ($19).  I had my go-to dish which was the Mediterranean Sea Bass ($38), I loved the seared skin that was crispy on the edges. Husband and Daughter each ordered a Spring Halibut ($92 for 2) from the Mother's Day menu.  We ordered 2 Strawberry Crème Brulee ($28 for 2), and I shared 1 with my husband.  I also had a cappuccino ($6). The check came up to $283.05 before tips (they add a 3% surcharge to each guest check, which may be removed upon request, we didn't).  As always, our dinner was very enjoyable and it's worth the money.  I had a very happy Mother's Day dinner, and it ended a wonderful weekend with high notes!  We will keep returning!

When we got to Pomeroy for dinner, we were seated in the farthest back room, one that was open-air ... the staff never asked us, they just put us there. The room was nice as was the weather, but the open-air room had gnats all over the place. Now we realize that gnats or fruit flies oftentimes come with wine servings ... and the Pomeroy has a bunch of nice wines, but the gnats flying around your face all through dinner was not pleasant. We ordered drinks to start, and found it hit-or-miss. The Watermelon Margarita seemed tempting, so we tried one. It came with a big smear of Tajin powder on the rim, and was not appealing. Once again, we thought they should mention this kind of thing before it appears. They replaced the drink, but it kept us off on the wrong foot. All in all, they still put our good food. Our complaint was the seating, the gnats, and the Tajin powder ... all they had to do was ask for our preferences and these could have been avoided. But alas, they drop to four stars.

The atmosphere is beautiful, and the white-glove service was absolutely excellent. I started with their "La Vie en Rose" signature cocktail, which was fantastic and came with little lavender pods floating on top, while my friend enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay. For lunch, they brought out this cool, crisp cracker-like bread that was a neat touch. I ordered the spicy beef salad and ate every single bite--yummo! My friend loved her shaking beef, though we both thought they could probably cut back just a bit on the number of pea pods in the dish. We finished the meal with the crème brûlée garnished with fresh berries, and it was top-notch with a perfect, crispy crack crust and soft baby almond cookies. Since it's right next door to my office, I'd love to make this a regular habit, but the prices definitely make it a special-occasion treat.
