Lettuce in the salad was brown. The chopped salad was not actually chopped it was just things in a salad bowl. The meat had great portions though and the dinner was well priced. If the salad were actually chopped and the lettuce weren't brown it's probably a 4 or 5 star. read more

This is one of my favorite places and I have yet to actually dine in! I've ordered to go from here multiple times and each time the food is consistently incredible! Highly recommend the chicken kabobs, rice pot, all the potato options are delish and the baklava for dessert! The hamburgers were big, with a juicy charred patty (could use a bit more salt/seasoning), tomatoes, lettuce, and a pickle spear on the side. Love their THIN FRIES - I can't say that it's as flavorful as McDonald's fries, but it's probably healthier with less additives. I didn't have a chance to take pictures of my burger as I was quite hangry. They have a kiosk you can order from, or just use the good old-fashioned humanoid to take your order at the counter. They give you a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready. You pick it up at the end of the counter and bring it to your table of choice. I love their soda dispenser with a billion choices. A couple of TV monitors for you sports lovers. Plenty of parking in front of restaurant. Family friendly. The bathrooms are clean. read more

BYG has prepared quite a few meals for us over the years and they've always been dependable, reliable and with good quality. They have a quite extensive menu but I'll usually choose one of their salads or a burger. This recent visit I had a burger which was perfectly cooked and waffle fries which were crisp and tasty. My companion had the spaghetti and meatballs which, though not pretty, was good with a garlicky sauce. I've cut down on my pasta consumption but it smelled really tempting. stopped in at backyard grill this week with three friends for lunch. everyone tried a dif dish. the restaurant is spotless, bright, and the menu can be found online/on a board in the restaurant/above the order line. a huge menu. the chicken greek salad was really good; my greek salad was good--but the pieces in it were a big chop, and just didn't appeal to me. not enough dressing (already dressed) and i don't go overboard with salad dressings. the lentil soup was delicious and a great deal. pita was a bit fluffier than i liked but warm and good with the hummus scoop we all shared. bathrooms were super clean and well stocked with soap and towels. thru no fault of their own, the entire street has a major construction project so parking may be a bit challenging right now. many take out orders--especially the greek chicken which sounds delicious. read more

My husband had the Spanikopita and I had a gyros sandwich and French fries. The fries were good. Unfortunately the gyros meat was very dry, the tomatoes were completely tasteless and the pita was not fresh. The Spanikopita was disappointing to a person who loves that. The restaurant itself is very noisy as there is nothing to muffle the sound of conversations or wooden chairs being dragged across the floor. My favorites are the chicken dinners whether it's barbecued or Greek. I also love the Greek village salad with grilled chicken.Everything is always delicious. Wow, I happened to be looking for something new for dinner and Backyard Grill did not disappoint! The kebab plate w filet mignon was as tender as could be, and as a card carrying Greek, the salad and potatoes were perfection. Everything was incredibly fresh, veggies like they were picked this afternoon from the backyard. Even my Greek Grandfathercould not rival the potatoes! Better yet, like most 'Greek' places, they have a huge varied menu, and great prices. I could make three meals out of this, and I skipped the rice that also normally comes from it! The management team clearly has mastered the ability to establish cohesion amongst this team. Yum yum! Today was a busy day for ya girl so I could not cook and decided to stop by to grab something to go and chow down at home. Well, I actually didn't stop by, I called to place my order first and then picked it up. Anywho, my family continues to rave about the whole the chicken Greek dinner so that's what I went with. This dinner comes with a whole chicken served with Greek potatoes, rice pilaf, steamed vegetables, pita bread and a choice of either soup or salad. You could either have it done greek style, bbq style or plain. I love Greek style and my family loves it too alongside salad so that's what I went with. The lady that I placed my order with was attentive and fast which I appreciated. Already in the downtown HP area, it took about 20 mins to complete the order so picking it up was an easy feat. Once I arrived home, I chowed down. The food was nicely packed, plentiful and very tasty! The chicken was perfectly roasted and already cut, I would highly suggest squeezing the lemon onto the chicken and boy was it yummy. Nicely cooked and fall off the bone tender. The rice pilaf and vegetables were tender, flavorful and succulent, a perfect side to the chicken. The pita bread was warm and fluffy. I also want to note that you get two servings of rice and two pitas which was great considering this dinner was a whole chicken so there was definitely enough food. The salad was nice and crispy, I was honestly in different to it but I loved the vinigrette dressing. It was zesty and not too spicy, complemented the meal perfectly! Overall, I really enjoyed this meal. It was a lot of great tasting food for a very reasonable price! I've eaten here quite a few times, the ambiance is nice and casual. A ton of solid items to choose from. The falafel is great and the salads are very good as well. Always greeted when we come, and a very nice "enjoy your evening, thank you very much or see you next time" when you leave. The coke machine is great because you can choose from 100s of classics. BYG, I believe, is more expensive than it needs to be. I think that's an issue of greed-flation. But the prices aren't as bad as Michael's in Highland Park. Your food seems to have taken a turn for the better, it's less greasy than it used to be, seems better made with more attention to detail and taste. They have a grinder chicken sandwich that I'm crazy about which is only $13. That sandwich is highly recommended, along with a number of other things on their menu. We enjoy their food and the service is good. I came on here to give a review of one dish I tried that wasn't as one would expect: the pesto pasta. I was expecting an herby, green sauce. Nope! It was creamy like an Alfredo. I was disappointed. They have a creamy pasta on their menu also, so I thought they gave me the wrong dish. Called there to complain and the manager told me that that's how that dish is served. Experience: The girlfriend and I were in the area and came across this gem. The staff seem to be very safe and enforced Covid Restrictions. Prior to dining in, one the workers ensured us to keep our mask on, which was not a problem! Better safe than sorry! Parking: It appears that there is plenty of parking! I was in the area on a Saturday, and I had no trouble finding a spot. It seems like they have multiple parking garages if you could not find a spot on the street levels. Was definitely easy! Worth: If you are in the area, definitely worth a try. The small little quaint town is already worth the visit. After getting stuffed with their food, you could burn it off by walking around the area. It was pretty chilly when we went, so maybe plan a trip when it s a little warmer. Food was good. We're living in a different world right now and businesses are struggling to do what they do best. We've had curbside takeout from Backyard Grill about 3-4 times now and I can't speak highly enough about them. Aside from the food which I'll get to, the customer service is as good as it gets. The owners are incredible during this pandemic and the curbside runners are always friendly and fast! While we've ordered just about everything on the menu, which is vast, but I've been partial to the Cheesy Beef. It's huge. It's delicious. It's cheesy! I'm definitely addicted to the sandwich. The cheeseburger was great and filling and the salads compliment every meal. It'll be great to get back to normal and have a nice sit down meal but until then, we'll be supporting our local restaurants! read more

Winner winner chicken dinner! Dinner was soooo good last night, that I woke up wanting chicken leftovers for breakfast. I resisted my late night chicken craving. And, I can now officially tell you I'm so excited for linner (cuz...leftover Grecian chicken)! After our recent amazing experience with pulled pork sandwiches, we couldn't wait to order again from BYG. Last night we ordered the $25 family feast for 4, plus some additional rice and a pita for my hubby. Turns out we didn't need the extra. In fact our family of four, including two hungry teenage boys, left the dinner table so full and with leftovers! Here's what the Tuesday family feast included: 12 pieces of Roasted Chicken, Rice Pilaf, Oven Roasted Potatoes, Greek Salad, & Brioche rolls. We ordered curbside pickup, and the moment our food entered the car, the aroma was enough to make me want to rip the bag open right then and there and have my very own picnic. Once home, the smell of freshly grilled chicken permeated everything, and I felt like I had just made the best home cooked meal...ever (I don't really cook). The chicken fell off the bone. Two potato chunks per person was plenty. Salad was more than enough for everyone, and the rice pilaf was light and fluffy and flavorful. We barely touched the rolls. Here's why BYG is smart. Unlike some of the other restaurants in the area offering family meals, BYG is affordable. We are trying to spend our dinner dollars supporting local, but some restaurants are not within our budget. I am sure the family meal prices will eventually go back up, but for now, we're taking full advantage. It's a win for everyone! Next up...we're trying the ribs! read more

But Jake at the front has been A++ as far as customer service, so much to the fact that now more often than not, I'll have him choose lunch for me.
