If I could give negative stars it would be at least negative 10. Stay away from this service provider and from Peter. He charged me $1500 for a shower tile cleaning and regrouting. No words needed, just take a look at the pictures. In addition to that, I have not been provided with a written estimate. We agreed on $540 for tile cleaning, repairs, recaulking for a shower + $125 for bathtub recaulking. When he started the work he suggested to redo grouting for the whole shower: I'll do it for one fifty" he said. I repeated to make sure "one fifty"? Yes. So I assumed he'll charge me an additional $150 for regrouting. It turned out he meant $1500. This business should not be on a market at all. I was not provided with any receipt as well. Update. The answer from Peter is just a joke. The pictures he provided as "before" are actually pictures "after" so nothing changed accept for the neat unsanded grout that I had was removed and replaced with rough sanded grout, the excess of which was not removed properly, so my whole shower has a rough surface now. Very hard to clean surface. One more time - pictures Peter provided in his reply are pictures "after" not "before", so he didn't even clean the tile in corners! (I paid him for tile cleaning and regrouting. (I didn't pay you $550 for four corners- are you insane?! The estimate included thorough cleaning!!! Which you did do as well. My shower actually looked better before, I regret that I ever hired you. I doubt that any of 4-5 starts reviews are true customers' reviews. I regret that I didn't check all of them before hiring. The only true and honest review is from Charley. This business is a scam and they don't have any experience working with tile cleaning and regrouting. P.M. I called this service because the tiled shower in my guesthouse needed a re-grouting and new tenants were moving in shortly. Peter came out and gave me a very fair quote for the work. He mentioned that they could also refinish the engineered hardwood floors, which had started to look pretty worn from the last tenants. And, he said they could also clean and seal the Saltillo tile at the outdoor patio. He explained exactly what they would do to clean up the finishes, which products they would use to refinish and seal them, and how long each endeavor would take. The next day, Peter and his crew were out in force, they did what they said they would and everything looked spectacular. Peter even came out the next day to make final touches on the shower. I called Mirage Tile and Grout Restoration at 12:45 PM on January 17th, 2017. A young lady by the name of Laila answered the phone. Per the Yelp reviews, I asked for Shaun. She told me that Shaun no longer owned the business as of this past summer. She stated that Peter owned and operated the business now but that he was currently on a job and would call me back. Laila took my name and phone number, and then we verified the information she wrote down. I never received a call back. I was pretty disappointed after reading the positive reviews about Mirage Tile. Anyway, after waiting for three days without a call back from "Peter," I made an appointment with another company (which I reviewed on YELP today) and had the work done. As I write this, I still haven't received a call back from "Peter." Peter, I understand that there are issues running a business, but when potential customers call you, you need to return their calls even if you are unable to do the work, which is both the courteous thing to do and the business-like thing to do, unless you don't care if your business is successful and/or you just don't have the wherewithal to be courteous. read more

Upstairs master shower grout had been cracking for some time. Eventually it started to leak down to the first floor ceiling. Had to get it fixed so search Yelp and found Mirage Tile. Peter responded quickly and came out within a week. He did an expert job of removing the old broken up grout and replace with a strong fortified grout. Job turned out excellent and they did a great job of cleaning up when done. He worked hard and his price was very fair. I highly recommend Peter and his company for grout repair. read more

Sean did a fantastic job for us at a very reasonable price. We had 7 year old grout in our bathroom, 11 year old in our kitchen and he both cleaned and repaired everything. We had a lot of cleaning but also needed a fair amount of re-caulking, all of it looked at least as good as the day we'd first gotten the work done. I had gotten another quote which was massively more expensive (triple+). Not only are these guys efficient and pleasant but they're trustworthy, I wasn't home the entire day, in fact I had a friend pay Sean because I couldn't get back, no worries, everything was properly done. I spoke to Peter last Friday and he was very interested in working with me, we spoke on the phone a few different times that day as we sorted out details for a job happening either last weekend or this weekend. A woman who I've never spoken to or heard of calls me later that evening saying she's from the same company and that they're not available for my job, but Peter already told me that they were. She said she wanted to schedule a new time and would call me back. She never did. I even reached out to Peter twice and he hasn't returned my texts. I don't understand businesses like this. A pretty small job, but they came out nonetheless when most said it was too small of a job. Not only did they get the job done, they went above and beyond. My kitchen tiles were very dirty and nothing we did got it cleaned. VOLUNTARILY they began cleaning the tiles and made them look brand new. Keep looking. These are not the guys you want. Shawn came over and gave me a quote that was a lot cheaper than the other Tile and Grout restoration place I used. However, when the day came for actually doing the work, the price mysteriously went up. He told me to show him the original quote, but I did not have it on hand so I reluctantly paid the higher price. I had them come over to do two things: Clean and reseal the kitchen floor tile and bathroom floor tile, and then re-grout the bathroom shower tile that has grown moldy over 1 year from lack proper sealing when it was installed initially as well as lack of cleaning. Let's start with the re-grouting. He had a guy come and partially re-grout my shower. I say partially because the guy only redid the top layer of the floor, and maybe 1 feet up the wall, but did not do the whole shower. For $280 for the regrouting, I would have thought there would be a little more work than that. The guy spent a total of less than 2 hours for the shower job, for $280. Let's assume the small amount of grout and sealer he used cost $40, so I'm getting charged $120 per hour? Pretty high price for labor, without the use of any sort of high end cleaning tools. This was for all hand work. To top off this job, he did not even clean the tile. I mean, wasn't this TILE and grout restoration? They seemed to forget about the tile portion. Now for the tile and grout cleaning and resealing in the kitchen and bathroom. Shawn charged me $1 per square foot. Which would have been fine if he had done a good job. The kitchen tile was about 4 years old, and the grout was stained. He said that he did not need to use his high powered machine, and that a hand acid wash would suffice. I trusted him. After about 45 minutes of work on the kitchen, the grout was "cleaned" and very wet looking, and I asked him if it would look clean and he assured me that after everything dries, it would. Well the next day, it still looked like crap. In fact, it didn't look like he had done anything at all. Where is this high powered machine that they show in the yelp photos? The lower quote he gave me was based on a smaller square footage of the kitchen that he measured, then amazingly my kitchen floor grew in a week. How is that even possible? Oh one of my tiles had this weird black stain that wouldn't come off. I've tried to get it off in the past and was not able to. But shouldn't a "Professional" Tile and Grout cleaner be able to do it? He tried for a couple of minutes, but then said he can't do it. C'mon. What am I even paying you for? Oh one other thing. I asked him how often I need to have the shower tile re-grouted since he is actually sealing it this time. He said once a year. Really? I need to pay him $280 per year just to have the shower tile grout in good shape? Or maybe he did a bad job on purpose so I would to keep calling him. Well the joke is on him. I've been meaning to wrote this review for a little while now. I moved into a new home just over a month ago. I did some research on tile cleaning and found Mirage Tile & Grout Restoration on Yelp. I contacted them and set up an appointment for an estimate with Sean. Sean showed up on time, was polite, knew what he was talking about, & explained everything clearly to me. I had a couple other companies come in and give me estimates. Prices were pretty competitive, but what separated Sean from the others was his professionals and attention to detail. I set the appointment with him. Sean came in and worked tirelessly for over 5 hours. He took his time and did the job right. The tiles really came back to life. I couldn't be happier. The only thing you should keep in mind is that they do not re-grout. They clean the grout, but you can't restore the grout to original condition without re-grouting. Thank you Sean! read more

I was so impressed by Sean. He arrived on time for both visits, he quoted an incredibly fair price - so reasonable, and performed excellent work. Sean cleaned up my master bathroom shower floor that was never installed correctly and as such the water would remain on the white tile, over time staining it a dark grey. He was amazing as he cleaned the entire surface changing the grey back to white -- couldn't believe how outstanding the outcome was, plus he pressure washed the tiled walls of the shower to a shiny white. Sean also took a rather sad looking garage floor covered with many oil stains (very old) and black paint that had spilled over 4 months ago. In a short amount of time, he renewed the look of the garage which now looks almost like it did 7 years ago. Sean is the best!! I have no idea what that guy Charles was smoking, but I can't believe he gave 1 star to Shawn. Shawn is 5 star all the way. I needed some work done in two showers. I called, Shawn picked up on the 2nd ring. We set an appointment for the following week that worked for both of us. He texted me the day before to confirm and showed up on time. This alone puts him way above most other contractors out there. Then the work he did was great. He was fast, clean and he charged a reasonable price based on the work that he did. What more can you ask??? Well, this. I had a nice conversation with him while he was doing some of the work. I consider myself a good judge of character, and Shawn is a genuinely nice guy. He seems like an honest, hard-working man who take pride in what he does, and believes in a fair days work for a fair days pay. My advice is to use Shawn's services with complete confidence. I have some ceramic tiles on my kitchen floor that haven't been cleaned since they were installed 9 years ago. The 1 inch grout in between the tiles was filthy. Needless to say I contacted Sean @ Mirage and he was able to come over on a Saturday. He did a demonstration of how clean the tiles would get using his non-toxic solution, and gave me a great estimate. They cleaned the tIle in the kitchen and both bathrooms in around 3 hours. Honestly, the tiles and grout are cleaner than when I bought this house! Now they are sealed, and I'll be calling Sean again next year just to keep them in tip-top shape. Couldn't be happier. Wow! I believe in family run business's as my family all run their own mom and pop companies. I was so disheartened at first not finding a price and company I felt comfortable with, I was going to give up and use Stanley Steamers. I don't remember how but I stumbled upon Shawn and hoped for the best. His service turned out to be more than exceptional! I am not very good at following up and Shawn not only gave me a wonderful deal he was determined on making this cleaning occur for me! When I moved into my apartment, the shower looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in years. Sean and Chrys made my shower look brand-spanking new!
