The owner was a bigger disgrace than the manager. I came here for brunch on a Sunday and ordered the Greek omelet which supposedly had feta. Once it arrived, I forked through it and noticed it only had the veggies, so I confronted the manager about it who unapologetically tried to justify it by saying, "they put a little bit of cheese" and stood there arguing with me about whether or not this omelet was acceptable. I was shocked to the point where I didn't even want them to redo it. I just wanted it off my bill so that I could leave this ridiculous establishment. Upon receiving the bill, I notice he charged me for half the omelet, which was the cherry on top. His explanation: "I ate half." This manager is definitely in lala land because no normal manager would come to such a conclusion and outright lie to your face. At that point, I sought out the owner who argued with me for 10 mins and didn't want to believe me that I had to argue with the manager for so long just to get reimbursed for something I didn't eat. Absolutely disgusting service. But what can you expect from the staff if the owner is so cheap, unaccommodating, and rude? Never returning. read more

One of my new favorite diners. I used to come here 10 years ago and I remember not liking it that much, however they do not give toys or happy meals so why would I have liked it??? I recently started going here as its not too far from me, and I am a big fan. Their lunch specials are great, for 13 bucks I got a big chunk of salmon, over rice, with chicken noodle soup, and a big slice of cheesecake. Now that is what I call a deal! I tried their prime rib for 18, and it was very good although slightly over salted, but hey for the price it was fantastic. Again, I prefer Vegas diner, but for the price and quality I love mirage. read more

More food than you can reasonably expect. The relish tray is extensive. Garlic Bread complimentary. Bread sticks too. Very acceptable prices. Quality is good and food is well prepared. The waiters are seasoned pros. No bull. The owner Billy makes himself visible and makes everyone happy. I hope the dying trend of diners in Brooklyn allows the Mirage to survive. Please!!!! read more

I came to their diner many moons ago with a friend of mine. I vaguely remember what I ordered but I remember it to be on the average side. Today I stumbled upon back here again because I had a busy day and I was craving a salad and everywhere else that sold salad was closed. I ordered their summer salad and it was very disappointing. Super disappointing. For $16.95, I was expecting a much larger portion but instead what I got was a tiny salad. I should've gone to McDonald's for a salad and pay $5. This was not worth it and there was barely any toppings in the salad. I gave this place 2 stars because the waiter that handed me the food was polite. I don't think I will be coming back here. read more

Burnt food ordered twice via Uber mad and my food looks like they scrapped the fucking grill and threw my food in a plate I come inside with my husband every Sunday no problem it's like they hate Uber deliveries and I pay more when I order via Uber for corned beef hash and eggs and I pay a delivery fee I live right around he corner and the food comes cold even when driver only takes 3-4 mins to arrive it's a .....so I went back to the Mirage in person since I was contacted by rep from the diner stating why didn't I just come in and let them know about the issue I had previously .... well that's because I'm injured in an auto accident and I'm recovering which is still not the point because why is anyone serving burnt food anyway I took my friend from Philly 04/24/19 at about 5:30pm my friend loves milk shake he orders one and he taste after seeing it looked as pink pepto bismo he asked if it was actually strawberry ice cream in his cup waitress said it was he told her tasted like it was vanilla ice cream with strawberry syrup she said no it's cream we called and the person who answered it's strawberry sauce mixed in see lies I never understand why people can't be honest about what they feed you. People are allergic to a lot of things and way my friend is nice so he didn't send it back cuz he did want our. Food to be tampered for revenge he got a garden inlet with green pepper nothing else I know this because I tasted myself he honed came the same as the previous pictures I posted the same exact way so no my burnt ass food that previously mention was not the only two times I was served it it's not an isolated incident mirage truly serves people burnt food and expect them to eat it read more

Ordered delivery from here - the delivery person is great, sweet guy. The cooks, can't seem to get their marbles in order. Second time I've ordered from Mirage - same exact order and they always miss items I've paid for in advance. The first time - cheese, I let it go. The second time - avocado, lettuce, onions, fries, and cheese. Very disappointing. Called to replace the order, the host said it'll take 30mins...an hour and a half later, still waiting. Terrible experience. Do yourself a favor and never order delivery from this place. Seems delivery is too complicated to master even though the grubhub order has a list of everything you've asked for, clear as day. read more

I would have to agree with Inna K. My experiences have been inconsistent. The wait staff is nice and attentive, but the food can be blah to ok - which is pretty much all that matters when you come to a diner. I grew up in Staten Island, which I consider the "Land of Diners," so I like to think I know my stuff. I should be able to order scrambled eggs and well done home fries no prob. It was a simple meal, but it was pretty tasteless and the serving size was on the small side. I wish I liked this place more because of the convenience factor, but I think I'm done. No biggie, they are a bunch of other diners not too far. read more

An okay spot, burger was good and hit the spot. I had also purchased fried calamari chewy and tough to eat, wouldn't recommend. Other then that try the burger or anything else on the menu read more

Nothing would make me happier than to agree with the other reviewers, but nah. Mirage is the fast food of diners. Their actual FOOD sucks. I ordered a feta cheese and spinach omelet that was soooooooooo bad I couldn't get close enough to actually put it in my mouth. It stank. Now to their credit they watched in amusement as I tried and tried again but yo, even they gave me back half the price (amusement tax perhaps?). The appetizer tray is typical of GOOD quality Greek diners but you want to know something? I'm old fashioned in that I want my entree to be EDIBLE. The waitstaff is way above par so I can't totally diss this diner, polite, aware, friendly and hell, if you ever tell your name that waiter remembers (so tip good you cheapskates) but as for the food, maybe you should resign yourself to a meal of appetizers and toss the real deal. read more

Everytime I order from this dinner I find my self disappointed. Twice I've ordered just in this past week and have gotten their obscure definition of my order. I ordered a medium rare double cheeseburger with bacon. I received 2 bacon cheeseburgers side by side and it was medium well. Later that week I ordered a grilled salmon steak. I received a mashed up clump of salmon bits. Everytime I had myself scratching my head. Please get better! read more

seriously your only hope of getting good in area, just order already. great staff as well.

I love this diner. It's my go-to-place for generous portion for a good price. I love their burger deluxe. It comes with fries, pickles, and also lettuce and tomato. I like their friendly staff and quick service. I also am glad that their open until late around 1 am. Other times, I come here to grab a soup of the day or a souvlaki on pita. I just love diners. It's always delightful to visit one. read more

I came here around 10am on a weekday, it had quite a few diners in there. The diner itself is nice but a little outdated. We sat at a booth and our waiter came over to us and brought us some coffees and water. We both ordered our meals a few minutes later. The food came out quick and tasted good, but nothing spectacular. The prices were kind of expensive and our server could of been friendlier. read more

How do you make a buffalo burger drip with fat? not juice, FAT. We came here a little while ago (under 3 months) but I forgot to write this up. Since my favorite diner recently closed I came to yelp to search up a replacement and remembered this experience. The service was even close to what I would expect from a diner while there were only about 5 tables occupied. read more

Totally great service and good food. Last time I was here I overheard a russian lady and a guy on a very awkward first date. The guy still lived with his mom and talked a lil too much about his mom to his date. Enjoyable food, smiley service, and a great place to people watch! read more

Not good. At here last night. Our waiter was great. He was attentive and did his job, plain and simple, although my water was never re-filled (not even a big deal, honestly). Every other staff member was observed texting throughout the overwhelming majority of our meal. There should be a 'must wash your hands' rule after playing with your phone. It was happening in such abundance that I could almost taste Brooklyn in my food, swimming off their fingers and into my soup and salad. I asked for extra feta cheese in my Greek salad, because I love feta cheese. This diner has made me question that love, as their feta cheese tasted more like an expired jar of Play-Doh (not even the tasty colors you loved as a kid). The stuffed grape leaves tasted fresh out of a cool, crisp tin can. The "mixed greens" were almost entirely romaine, and kind of wilted. Very wilted, actually. My New England clam chowder was marginally tasty, but it was really just the cream. There were maybe 3 slivers of clam in it, each chewier than the last. My co-diner ordered sweet potato fries and a matzo ball soup. I ate a lot of her fries, because she couldn't stomach the just-fried-from-a-frozen-bag variety. Not particularly good. I think I've made the same ones at home before. I had acid reflux the rest of the night, something I've never been documented to have. She had a bad stomach the rest of the night, and an even worse stomach this morning. She's probably the healthiest person I've ever known in my life, so this comes as quite a disappointment. Fair to say we'll never come here again. A real shame that Greco on Emmons closed down. Sadness. read more

I live a few blocks away from this place, so it's generally where I go when I want to get out of the house for a bit. My experiences there have ranged from terrible (a fly in my food once!) to excellent. It really depends on the day. The chicken caesar wrap is very good, the chicken parmigiana is generous, and the tuna salad sandwich is yummy. Stay away from their seafood plates; they're pricey and rarely fresh, sadly. This place has also bumped up their prices, and last time I got a cup of tea, they charged me for honey! Who charges for honey with tea? I didn't appreciate how the waiter neglected to tell me that they now charge for honey. They also get a little stingy with sauces; if you ask for extra dressing on the side, they always make a big mess about it. It's very irritating. Their burgers are always a safe bet and always delicious. Their fries range from decent to excellent, again, it depends on the day, and the twin burger special they have is a great deal. $12 for two big burgers and fries, good to split with a friend, which brings the meal down to $6 a person. All-in-all, when the fridge is empty and I don't have much time, this is a decent place to go to. But if I have time on my hands to go somewhere else, I always will. read more

I love going to diners. I have been to many locations but this is by far the worst spot. Firstly, I walked in and was not greeted and waited until the man finished talking to his friend. Secondly, he shot me a disgusted face in a judgemental way. I was sat down at a table and no service for 20 minutes. Not a single waiter brought me water or asked if I was ready to order. Several waiters that passed by my table multiple times didn't even bother recognizing my presence. I even called the waiter over several times but was ignored every time. At this point I was very frustrated. When the waiter finally came over it was with a rude attitude and a judgemental face. The food itself wasn't all that good, so that didn't help. It was like they just threw everything on the plate and it was way too salty so I ended up not even eating any of it. But that's not end of my terrible experience, I went to pay the bill, the cashier himself was very rude and shot me a disgusted look as if I had three heads. I've never been here and this whole experience was a total let down. I felt out-casted, uncomfortable and frustrated the entire time Bottom line is terrible service and mediocre food. First and last time I will ever come here. read more

The Mirage is a great, classic old school BKLYN diner exactly as it should be. It's a terrible shame that we have lost Del Rio and Vegas Diners but that correct, reliable diner perfection is still rocking at the Mirage. I used to go to the Caraville when these guys managed it and it was one of my favorites, and that greatness carries over to the Mirage. A perfect omelette, amazing home fries and what is probably the best rice pudding around. I can't recommend this place more! read more

I ordered a Breakfast platter for delivery which was really good. The complaint is more about the delivery guy than the Restaurant itself. I left specific instructions to ring my bell gently but of course it was the opposite. I enjoy dining at the Mirage Diner. It appears that they do their best while we are dining there. The deliveries for us are quick and timely. Most of the employees are cordial. It would be amazing to see the glass that separates some of the booths, stained with a pretty blue stain. This would allow for additional privacy. All I can say is wow... My family and I came in at night so there were only a few groups of people in the whole diner. Out of all the places we could be seated, we were directed to a table right next to the handicapped entrance. Mind you, it's around 34 degrees outside and the door of the entrance was opening and closing by itself from the wind. The whole experience felt like we were having dinner in a freezer. But it doesn't stop there. The waiter kept telling me "wait" when I slowly and clearly gave him our orders for dinner that night. Gave him all the time in the world to write down each dish (we didn't have any special instructions either) and he still needed to tell me to wait somehow. What also turned all of us off were the dirty plates and utensils. And they only give us one napkin each... there are no napkin dispensers on any table! Waiter kept checking in asking how our food was, which I thought was nice. But he then asked to drop off the check while we were IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR FOOD. His reason was he needed to do some other stuff on the job so we were like "fine" and told him we wanted some things to be packaged as leftovers. We asked him to just give us containers so we could do it ourselves since he seemed busy. But he pushed us to let him do that himself... even though he claimed before that he was busy... The food came pretty quickly and was okay. Felt super unwelcomed while we were here though. Never going back. read more

Let me tell you about our delivery order. We ordered a Caesar salad and the dressing came warm and it was not tangy like a proper Caesar dressing. It was very mayonnaise-centric. I did not bother to eat the dressing after smelling it. The Caesar salad did not even have Parmesan cheese on it or anything besides the romaine lettuce it came with. The salmon that I ordered on top was very over cooked and dry on at least half of the salmon. The croutons got soft in the salad and were even softer that the salmon. I had to use lemon juice that came with the calamari and some of my own seasoning to make a home made dressing for the salad. The calamari was sticking together and was not seasoned at all. Not even a dash of salt. The breading was falling off and it was not crispy at all. The Marinara sauce that came with the Calamari tasted very watered down as if it was from a jar. Desert was not right either. The strawberry shortcake tasted very artificial in the filling. The cake was wet and spongy. The whipped cream was not very creamy but tasted more of an icing or marshmallow. The chocolate mousse cake .... oh lord. The mousse was very heavy and had an artificial taste as well. The cake was very spongy and wet in texture too. As if it did not thaw out properly. We have a piece of chocolate pie that has over whipped whipped cream. It is the texture of butter. The chocolate "cream" that was in the pie tastes and looks like artificial chocolate syrup. The crust of the pie was very soggy and moist. Not to mention there is a layer of chocolate cake in the PIE that is supposed to be a PIE. We were sent two pieces of bread for our order. One of them was so hard it cracked when we put the bag down on the counter. We decided to test the hardness of the bread by slamming it on the counter. It literally crusted off onto the counter without even breaking. The bread would not even move when we squeezed it with our hands. The only thing that was mediocre in our order was the Americano panini that still needed seasoning and a lot less onion. We never ate here in person but ordered delivery. We will not be ordering again. Hope this review was helpful to someone. read more

This review is not about the Quality of the food but of the lateness they provided in delivering dinner to an elderly couple who put an order for a Thanksgiving dinner early in the morning for 4 o'clock delivery and didn't get it until 7:30 tonight, waiting all day for for this food, calling, been put on hold and telling them if you ordered you'll get it. No apologies of the lateness and when it will arrive or looking for the delivery. At 6:45 will have to send out a duplicate and will have it to you in half hour, meaning what! The first order is out they wandering around, ridiculous. They received their order at 7:30, what a time to be eating a Thanksgiving dinner. I hope they also wrote a bad review. read more
