i've been coming to this place for a while now and it never disappoints. every time i go, the vibe is the same super welcoming, chill, and just a really good spot to sit down and enjoy some amazing seafood. it's one of those places you can keep going back to and it still hits every single time. the seafood boil 4 is always my go-to and it's consistently so good. it comes out hot, loaded with flavor, and perfectly seasoned every time. the seafood is always fresh, and the sauce is honestly addictive. they don't skimp on portions either, which is a big plus. i also get the fried calamari pretty often and it never misses. it's crispy, light, and not rubbery at all. you can tell they actually know what they're doing in the kitchen because everything is cooked just right. the service is a big reason i keep coming back too. the staff is always friendly, quick, and make you feel taken care of. the owner is super nice and always checking in, which makes the whole place feel more personal and welcoming. overall, this is easily one of my favorite spots. i come here all the time and i'm definitely not stopping anytime soon read more

I dined with a friend for lunch. You can take out or eat in. The ambiance is simple with cafe style tables, and backyard dining which is delightful. I had shrimp and fries and my friend had seafood tacos. You can choose the fish you like for the tacos. Both were tastefully seasoned and more than adequate in size portions. The pricing was also adequate, at approximately $15-16.00. per meal. The service was excellent! Mohammed was eager to please you with any type of fish you decided on and would prepare it any way you liked. The young lady that waited the table was very pleasant and also eager to please you. I drove over an hour in traffic to come here. The people are very friendly and helpful in ordering your food. The place is small inside so we decided to sit outside because it was a beautiful day. We had to tell them it wasn't a good look to have large garbage cans and a motor bike where we have to eat. They removed the garbage cans. We had the grilled octopus and it was perfectly seasoned and tender. The grilled Bronzini was a nice size and it was really good but I had to ask if they would grill the other side. The fried snapper needed more seasoning for my taste but overall the food was good. read more

I finally took the plunge and decided to try them. I remember speaking with the previous owner when the first opened. I did not know they had a new owner. I can tell that the owner is trying to make this place work. What we ordered was good, o would not call it great. We had the salmon burger and fries priced around twenty dollars. Also the tuna poke bowl around the same price. You have to order at the counter and then if you are staying, they will bring the food to your table. One issue I ran into is that when you order your food, it brought out to you as they are ready. If you are eating with someone else they may get their food before yours. Then you are waiting 5 minutes or more for your food. It's a little uncomfortable as most people would like to eat together. They can definitely do better job in this area. There are some challenges as there is not really enough seating to accommodate customers during colder months. Right now there are two small tables on the street and three small tables inside. The garden area can seat more and probably is only good for about four or five months if the weather is dry. I would tend to recommend them more for take out and not sit down unless you are ok with the things I mentioned. read more

Have ordered from Bay Ridge Fish Bar a few times. The best dish I have had is the Mussels. They serve them in this intensely garlicky and flavorful sauce that you can literally drink! Ask for extra bread for dipping. When they had the buy 1 get 1 special on it I saved one order and it was incredible over pasta the next day. Other dishes I have tried are the build your own poke which was very fresh but the dressing and rice weren't as flavorful as a sushi spot, the fish and chips was really good with nicely battered fresh fish and plenty of fries, the salt and vinegar fries really didn't have much vinegar flavor and weren't worth the upcharge and the crab cake sandwich was good with a large well seasoned crab cake. I like that they have specials and the delivery is always fast. The actual menu is much larger than the menus on GH and UE so it may be best to check those out and order direct. read more

Came here with my husband and my 3 year old. The backyard patio is really cute, and a great spot on a warm, sunny day. We had mac n cheese (huge hit with my toddler) and Lobster Bisque soup, along with fish n chips. The bisque was really yummy, but my only complaint is that there was barely any lobster in it! Just one small piece and another even smaller piece. The previous owner would give a more generous portion of lobster when serving the soup. The service was super friendly, but they do take long. Not necessarily a bad thing, but good to know if you're in a rush. All in all, it was enjoyable and I'd def be back! read more

Let me start off by saying parking in this area is horrid, you'll circle around but will find something eventually. It's a real fish market where you order the fresh fish off the cold display and they cook it to order. There was so many varieties of crustaceans and fish you don't know what to choose from. I went during mother's days weekend and it had a special surf and turf which was lobster and steak. The steak was amazing and cooked well . The cole slaw although a little too creamy is very tasty. I've also had their linguini with white clam sauce and that was excellent as well. We ordered a large order for my office today and it was a hit! The seafood is fresh and delicious. It was a pretty large order but everything was in order and perfectly packaged. The lobster bisque was BOMB with huge clumps of lobster meat in it. Delivery was smooth and the delivery guy was very nice! Only one small suggestion I would make is to add two tortillas to the tacos because with one it became a little soggy causing the tacos to fall apart - all good though we used a spoon and scooped up the DELICIOUS fish inside! read more

Right as you walk in there's fresh seafood waiting for you. I was greeted immediately with a friendly face. Because I follow them on Instagram I ordered their special they highlighted for that Sunday: a shrimp burrito. Hubs got the lobster roll and we grabbed a seat outside in the back. We regretted the decision only because it was colder than we thought and my sweater was not doing its job. My guy kept us updated on our food and apologized for the wait but it was so understandable cuz there was a cute (birthday?) party and the kitchen was hustling to get their orders in. It's a small-ish space; party table in the back for about 6, table in front for 2, bar stools by the register for 4, and outdoor seating could be for about 10. But when we wanted to move, they made sure to clear the table and have it ready. Service is so attentive and kind that it felt rare. Okay, the FOOD: that lobster roll was at capacity and the fries were perfect. The shrimp burrito had shrimp in nearly every bite. The size was enough where I could finish but also feel stuffed but also could walk. We couldn't stop there. We had to take home some appetizers that they have prepared in the fridge. While their homemade hummus looked gorgeous, we opted for mac and cheese and the crab empanadas. I also had some pieces of salmon broiled. Ordered the boil 3, which was advertised as 2 lobster tails 1/2lb of dungeness crab, 1/2 snow crab (since the dungeness crap was not available, I was promised 1lb of snow crab) -- instead got 1 overcooked lobster tail (cut in half) and maybe half a pound of crab. The sauce was watery and bland. Tried the seafood linguine too --linguine was undercooked, and all the seafood (shrimp, clams, mussels, squid) was overcooked and chewy. Only highlight? We ordered the pot of mussels, calamari, French fries, and corn on the cob. The mussels was supposed to be cooked in a white sauce but accidentally came in a red sauce. I'm not picky so it was still delish! I can't wait to try the white sauce. The portion was good enough for me and I felt full. The mussels were meaty. The calamari was my son's favorite. Another good portion and the breading was seasoned nicely. The French fries were crisp and tasty and the corn had a nice char and delish summer bbq taste. We will def be back! I had the seafood boil and it was meh.... Lobster was overcooked. The sauce is tasty but it is super watery! I have had seafood boils at other places and the sauce is not supposed to be watery. The sauce is supposed to coat the seafood. Usually, I would taste butter in seafood boils and that's not what it tastes like here. Immediately upon walking in I was greeted by the owner with the upmost respect and care. I had never been here and was curious as to what to get, the staff were more than accommodating in helping me choose, I felt part of the family soon enough. I loved the family owned restaurant and the hospitality provided but if I just provide constructive criticism: This family owned restaurant needs to establish a structured system for holidays . My experience took place on Mother's Day . I noticed that there was struggle with managing " in person" customers, grub orders, and phone orders . Assistance of organization and setting boundaries caused a two hour wait on my food order and came to dine in . In person customers should be a priority . I was not the only person(s) that experienced a lengthy wait . To attempt to make up for it, I received several complimentary items such salad, bread and butter, and a shot of Hennessy . Although this was nice it didn't provide a greater experience . Once I received my main course, I ate two bites and asked for a to go box to eat for the next day . Pasta is better the next day anyway however I wanted to enjoy my main dish at the family restaurant . Initially, I was pleasantly surprised to see this spot turned into a fast-casual restaurant giving the neighborhood a little more variety than your typical takeout menu (pizza, Chinese, Mexican, etc.). However, the prices are ridiculous. A small fish sandwich with fries will set you back $14 without including tax. So it's definitely in the "treat" column and no where near the "value" column. But the 1 star is because of the service by the owner. The owner's demeanor made us feel like he was doing us a favor by taking our order, accepting payment by credit card, etc. I get it, credit card fees cut into profits, but you're already overcharging by a lot. The most egregious thing though - when my wife came back into the shop with our infant without me, he asked her if she was breastfeeding? When she told me the story I thought it was weird at first obviously (and my wife was not herself the rest of the day), but every time I pass by the store I think of that stupid question. Rather than ring his collar, I figured I would make it known publicly and other people can judge for themselves whether they want to frequent this place.
