Came in for restaurant week for a weekday dinner. The place was pretty packed, but we were able to get a seat pretty immediately. My friend and I ordered the restaurant week menu which was a pretty good deal. With Caesar salad, any two pizzas, and tiramisu. Caesar salad was very saucy and the sauce was quite tart and lemony. I enjoyed it but I could see it being too tart for some. For pizza, we ordered the seasonal La contadina and La Calabria. The contadina was savory, I liked the bits of garlic and sausage. I did think it was missing just one thing for an extra flavor dimension but it was yummy regardless. The calabria had this subtle sweetness from the honey that was so addicting. The crusts of the pizza were perfectly chewy too. There were some burnt spots which I avoided, but overall really good. And then the tiramisu. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I do enjoy a tiramisu. This one however was super soaked in coffee and 0 rum. But the punchy amount of coffee flavor was balanced out pretty well with the cream. Service throughout our meal wasn't bad. I ordered a glass of wine, but I wasn't told they didn't serve glasses for the wine until ~15 min later. And when I reordered a different glass, I had to wait an additional ~10 mins. So I didn't get my glass until I had the pizza sitting in front of me. Overall, the food is pretty solid. Very interesting pizzas and the restaurant week gave a pretty good deal. read more

Came here to see a friend for happy hour/dinner. We started off with some whiskey drinks which came with bourbon soaked cherries. We had the Manila clam appetizer and it was delicious! It came with bread and the broth was amazing. I also ordered meatballs-the appetizer version which came with 3 meatballs. The dinner portion comes with 5 meatballs. It was so delicious and tender. We came in for coffee and dessert mid-day. Our waiter was exceptional with a fantastic personality. We ordered affogato and drip coffee. Each was quite good, noting the amount of espresso in the affogato was sufficient and an additional cup if coffee was not necessary. Food is always great and drinks are excellent. We always enjoy the Lamb pizza and meatballs. They say Chicago has the best pizza but I'd say I still haven't found pizza in Chicago as good as Mioposto! We've been coming here for about 2.5 years and unfortunately the bartenders and the lead host who were all so welcoming and friendly are no longer there. The bartender on the day we came was inattentive and spent most of his time talking to locals instead paying attention to our needs and getting our order. Had such a great experience at Mioposto for their Valentine's Day special! My kids were thrilled with their heart-shaped pizza, which was both adorable and delicious. They also had some Italian sodas, which were a huge hit super refreshing and flavorful. I ordered the lasagna, and it was fantastic--rich, comforting, and perfectly baked. But the real surprise was the beer salad that came with it--I absolutely loved it! Such a great balance of flavors and a perfect complement to the meal. Beyond the food, the service was outstanding. Even on a busy Valentine's Day evening, the staff took the time to engage with my kids and make them feel welcome, which I really appreciated. It has established itself as consistently the best family restaurant on the Island for a reasonably priced family meal with great food and good selection of dishes and Pizza's. Nice little lunch spot in Mercer Island. Came in for a quick bite last Friday and was pleasantly surprised. Good looking interior, friendly staff, not too loud. I had to toss a coin to pick between 3 and 4 stars for this review. I've wanted to try their pizza, and we decided to try happy hour The ceasar salad was great. The dressing had a lot of flavor, and I could taste the anchovy. Beautiful. It was the highlight of the meal. The flavors on the ceci were exciting, but I expected crispy, and instead, they were mealy. They were also very oily and you had to eat them with your fingers. Really messy. We both ordered a happy hour personal pizza. Great value for $10 each. Placed on the table, they looked promising. First issue, they looked cut into pieces, but turns out there was only a dent where a cut should have been - on both pizzas. If the pizza cutter in the kitchen couldn't cut through the pizzas, how do they expect the butter knife we had was going to do the job? The pepperoni pizza may have been undercooked. The middle portion was a wet, soupy mess. The Pinocchio pizza has a great flavor profile with very flavorful sausage, salami, pepperoni, olives, tomatoes, and herbs. Wet in the center, but not soupy. First things first, they have Happy Hour! The location looks small from the road, but once inside it's warm, inviting and holds many more people than you'd think just by driving by. The service was quick and after reviewing the entire menu, I realized there was HH of exactly the items I considered. I ended up going with the beet salad which was paired nicely with arugula and a light vinaigrette. I also chose the margherita pizza from HH, which was the perfect size! At 8" it's still a good size and filling when paired with the salad. The gals next to me both had the house red/white and mentioned it was good. My friend got the pizza with goat cheese, sausage, and red peppers and it was a bit heavy but good. The pizza was reminiscent of Italian wood fire cooked and the ingredients were definitely good quality and fresh. The salad was also fresh and tasty though the beets were chopped in all different sizes-not bad but could've been a bit more uniform, no big deal. I can't wait to come back or check out another location because I'm literally drooling thinking of that smokey thin crust! read more

I haven't been to Mioposto for brunch before, only pizza, so this is a review only on the brunch I had the other day. The service was good, and dessert was yummy but for $19 for the morning hash with a side of arugula I expected more food & at least some olive oil/lemon juice/shaved parm on the arugula instead of what looked like someone just opened a bag and threw some arugula on the plate & called it good. The hash was pretty crispy/over cooked and the portion size was tiny. There was as much arugula on the plate as hash, maybe more. It was disappointing for how much they charge. Luckily my drink and the tiramisu saved the brunch because those were yummy! The interior is nicely decorated and it was quiet enough for convo so the ambiance was as expected. read more

I visited this restaurant a few times. A friend of mine used to live nearby, so we tried it initially. Since then I've brought in a couple work accomplices with me, they enjoy it as well. The pizza, the olives, the beverages, the buzz of energy running around the place as people are working. Their tails off is amazing. We really enjoy the mushroom pizza, it is one of our favorites. Now that I'm writing this, I'm looking forward to coming back and having it again. The team here, is amazing, working hard, like a well oiled machine. Beautiful day, beautiful experience at Mio Posto. Our mysterious server was enchanting. She seemed familiar and yet, I couldn't say from where. Regardless, she answered my many questions about the salads with cheer. You could tell she had a passion for her craft. The mocktails: top notch. The appetizers: out of this world. Melanzane and Ceci. Bestow them upon yourself, please. My knees are shaking as I type this. I got some kinda vegan version of a squash pizza...I was pretty tight. Loved it. Will return. Our first time at Mioposto, after we decided to extend our "coverage" of dining choices. What we noticed was their "Clam Bake" -- a pizza with clam meat. Have not dined in Mercer Island in, oh, couple of decades. Mioposto was easy to find. However, the nearby street parking was extremely limited. Just as we were about ready to bag it, a spot opened -- a divination. The restaurant was nicely decorated. Mostly dark and gold. Staff seated us quickly (this was about 12:30.). Of course we ordered the Clam Bake Pizza and couple of GINGER beer (very tasty). Our pizza was wonderful. Both my wife and I had this smile on our face after our first bite. Don't ask us how it tasted. It just tasted great. Thin crust with nice crunch. The prices were reasonable. The restaurant was full of, apparently, locals, enjoying their choices. Of course we will return, despite the fact that they are on Mercer Island. We'll come bit later to ensure, I hope, parking availability. read more

A solid brunch place on Mercer Island. I liked that there was street parking nearby (downtown Mercer Island is fairly walkable). I came right when it opened and was the first one there but even after an hour or so, there was no line. I got The Baker and it felt like I was basically eating a pizza since it came with a side of bread - not necessarily bad, but I feel like other than a more liquid texture (because of the tomatoes), it's pretty much pizza in a bow. My only complaint is that the portions are on the smaller side.
