Coming here was a BIG MISTAKE. Utter disappointment. Charging an arm and leg for suboptimal food and service is simply unacceptable. Please just don't waste your money! Go to a family owned business where they actually care about customers and what they put on your plate. I have had their breakfast buffets almost a decade ago. It used to be one of the best ones in town. I don't believe they hold that title anymore. This place is severely understaffed but also what you get in the buffet doesn't even warrant the price. We decided to switch to their à la carte menu. The pluses: They seated us without a reservation on a weekend, sweet staff, the Tiramisu pancakes. The negative: 1 star for the service. I waited for plant based milk the entire time for my coffee-- it never came. My veggie hash had 0 salt and there was no salt on the table. Nor could I get anyone's attention. It was because of our table placement. I finally got someone else to get me salt after I had finished 75% of my meal. It also tasted of cast iron. The BLTA sandwich was good though. Our waitress didn't check on us until 5 minutes prior to getting the check. This place is completely off my list. My son and I ordered the full American, he ordered his with scrambled eggs, I ordered mine with eggs over medium; what I got was hard and over cooked. Don't you just hate it when all you can eat buffets are just not that appetizing? Well me too, that's why I LOVE Eques, Their buffet is not overly packed with items but still plentiful and continuously refreshed (well except the chocolate croissant, come on guys do better) The service is always friendly and we were promptly seated (reservations are best guys) it did take a moment for our server to come back to us but soon we had coffee and juice and hit the buffet. There was scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, potato medley, pancakes, and a bunch of other warm items. I will say the make your own omelette is no longer part of their buffet and I do wish waffles were but alas. There is only valet parking for the hotel, but you a can park at the Lincoln Square parking garage, which they will validate. You gotta get the Duck, Duck Waffle. Had a daddy children day and decided to take the kids out to breakfast before the festivities. Eques had photos of specialty French toast etc so decided to take them here. Swing and a miss. Took twenty minutes to get our orders in. Apparently the good stuff is in their buffet but I didn't want to pay almost twenty bucks for a 6yr old that would barely touch her food so we went a la carte. Son got like two silver dollar pancakes and my daughter ended up with half an eggo waffle. 10 bucks each and both kids were unhappy with their food. When I came in I looked at the buffet table and didn't think much of it so I went with tiramisu pancakes. I got 4 small pancakes and that was it. Over twenty bucks for four pancakes and nothing else. I guess I should expect these kind of prices from the Hyatts hotel. 4 star hotel, 4 star restaurant right? With 4 star prices! And 4 star service! Oh no my friends you are sadly mistaken.... Waited over twenty minutes to get our order taken. Waited OVER AN HOUR to get a check and even then three other tables around me complained and I had to walk over to the manager and raise hell. Over an hour! It wasnt even abnormally busy. Had to wait another 10-15 minutes for them to run my card. All in all we spent over two hours there waiting with bored children with only 5-10 minutes of it spent eating. And that's a conservative estimate considering their small serving sizes. This has been a favorite of mine ever since I was younger. I just doesn't get better than perfect bacon and unlimited pastries! For a buffet style restaurant eques manages to be clean and classy. The service is always kind and friendly! And although it's gotten much pricier over the years I'd still say it's worth it if you and a breakfast loving buddy want to meet for brunch! Eques is the main breakfast/brunch restaurant inside the Hyatt Regency Bellevue, located on the second floor. Large, welcoming restaurant with upscale vibe, stone statues of horses, and plenty of seating. They do offer a breakfast buffet but it was Eques' ala carte menu that was really intriguing. You'll see inclusion of salmon and crab in their offerings, but also really unique items like Tiramisu pancakes and duck duck waffles! I wanted to try their Tiramisu Pancakes but on the day we went they reported issues with the pancake maker. I got the duck duck waffles instead which were pretty good. You get an entire roasted duck leg on top of a waffle. A French version of Chicken and Waffles, I suppose. (4 stars) Smoked Salmon Egg White Omelet was also good, though I found the combination of smoked salmon and all that cheese to be on the saltier side for sure. (4 stars) I don recommend getting their yogurt granola (5 stars) to share. The fresh berries and granola play well with the larger, crunchy hazelnuts. The oatmeal is also decent. It has berries and candied almonds, and you can always add some honey for more sweetness. Definitely an excellent breakfast/brunch option in Bellevue. Maybe this place was just too upscale for me. I don't eat salmon for breakfast kind of girl. The wait staff was amazing. The score is simply because I didn't like the food. Eques is my favorite weekday breakfast spot in Bellevue. I go once a week after dropping my son off at school. If it's just me, I always get the buffet so I can immediately dish up and start eating. The buffet area isn't huge and only varies slightly day to day, but the quality is excellent. It's very clean, well-stocked, and the other guests tend to have good buffet manners. It has a bit of a fresh/healthy food bent, which I appreciate. I usually get some combination of scrambled eggs, bacon, salmon salad, salmon bagles, steel-cut oats, pastries, fruits, and yogurts. Each station is small but has the key fixings. Today's rotating buffet items included chorizo quesadillas and chicken sausages. I wish they had offered guacamole with the quesadillas. The servers have always been exceedingly polite and efficient with me. The buffet is $31.96 after tax, so I end up paying about $39 after tix. Yes that's a lot, but it's worth it for me since the food is much better than nearby weekday breakfast buffets I've tried. The price includes coffee and juice. You can pay extra for a cooked-to-order omelet, but I haven't done that. I might if it was free. They make great scrambled eggs, and the buffet includes all sorts of things you can mix in (bacon, salmon, Beecher's cheese, sausage, tomatoes, etc.) I've also gone here with my family where we ordered off the menu. It all came out great! If I get bored by the buffet, I might start doing this more. Parking in the underground garage is free on weekdays with validation, and always free on weekends. Their hours are longer for weekends to accommodate brunch, but I don't think the buffet or menu really change. Eques is just as good on those days, but it doesn't stand out as much because there are tons of other great weekend brunch options. I've had many meals and many stays with Hyatt and this experience has confirmed to me that despite being top tier in regard to accommodations, you don't get what you pay for in Hyatt restaurants. A small group of us came in for breakfast and were disappointed with the offerings. The buffet was $30, but it was an extra $7 for an Omelet. They had fruits, grains pastries, bacon sausage potato, pancakes, yogurt, smoked salmon and breads. What really rubbed me the wrong way was I stood in front of the Omelet Bar for 5 minutes with people staring at me. Finally, an employee asked me if I wanted an omelet, which I found to be a really bad question since I was standing in front of the omelet bar looking anxious. They told me that our server had a ticket that needed to be filled out for an omelet bar serving. I was then further frustrated because when we told the server we were doing the buffet, he didn't ask if we wanted omelets. The woman told me to have a seat, and she would send our server over. After another 5 minutes, she came back, said she couldn't find our server and she would complete the ticket on his behalf. She took my ticket, and it was 10 minutes before my omelet came. It was also over cooked and burnt despite me not choosing that option, they had well done as well as a lighter option. My omelet was completely brown, and I find that gross. This is also where I clue in those not counting minutes, It was 20 minutes since I got my plate with bacon and potatoes. So it was now cold and my omelet was overcooked. I pushed that to the side and just got a bowl of fruit. $30 is a fair price if the omelet is included and have a fully manned omelet bar. I've stayed at many properties and be it Hilton, Embassy, Red Lion, etc, the breakfast is always top shelf, everything is included and the buffet is warm without a wait. This was an amateur production, with limited choices and service far slower than the crowd mandated. I regret coming here, and hope Hyatt ensures there are providing a better overall dining experience. 13 coins is next door and I can get a much better omelet for $15 less and not leave hungry. We are local and came into the Hyatt Hotel Eques Restaurant on a Sunday for breakfast. The valet was prompt and greeted us by last name upon our return, offered us bottled water, WOW!!! Upon arrival to the restaurant we were greeted and seated promptly with a smile. No wait. Crystal our server showed up immediately to get our beverages started and continued to be at our table whenever needed. I have to say her professional service, lovely smile, gracious manners and impeccable grooming was truly appreciated. While the Eggs Benedict, white linen tablecloth and restaurant ambiance was truly enjoyable it was the attentive and friendly service that transformed this meal into a 5 star experience. We had to talk to another waitress who called our waitress here. - After ordering, we waited 30 minutes before checking when the meals would be ready. I was surprised by the lack of windows, as I feel most places in Bellevue accentuate the views. Food was yummy. They have a buffet style breakfast and there's a good amount of options, but more importantly they picked quality over quantity. I heard that some things precovid changed (like they used to have honey from the honeycomb or something). You can fill out a form to pick what kinds of egg you want. I was only offered coffee or water once when I sat down and I didn't get another chance to get a refill the entire time I was there. It's just a standard buffet. Maybe people rate this higher because it's the only proper buffet in town or for bringing their kids or something.
