I visited for the first time last week, and I loved how spacious and clean the space is! There is plenty of seating, and a great place to work/study. I got two pastries to go, the raspberry slice and spanakopita. I wished I had asked for the spanakopita to be warmed, but it was otherwise a really good pastry! I've never had spanakopita before, but I loved the salty, herbal flavor, and it didn't taste too heavy. The raspberry bar, however, was disappointing. It tasted more like a sugary shortbread with a hint of raspberry. The icing topping is thicker than the raspberry jam itself! I love sweets, but for the price and experience I would not get this one again. Overall, the cafe has a great ambiance, and a large selection of foods and drinks. It's a little pricey, but given the great spanakopita, I can see myself coming back once in a while to try more food and work! read more

I've passed by this swanky spot enough times that I got curious and had to try it for myself! The first thing off the bat is that this is a stylish place: floor to ceiling windows, modern interior, very cool vibe. It seems to be a Scandinavian style cafe and brunch spot, but they also branch out to other flavors as well! When my friend and I went on a Sunday afternoon it was packed! They have a counter service rather than sit-down and you have the option of finding your own seats. My friend and I shared a huge breakfast platter (the portion was so big!), a cardamom twist (a new fave pastry of mine) and a sakura matcha (okay, much too sweet for my taste tho.) Gorgeous cafe, one of the most aesthetic cafes I've been to in Washington. The brunch food was overall just ok, not bad but not impressive. Overpriced I think for what it was. It came out really fast which was great though! We will say we LOVED the chocolate croissant was delicious, and the best we have ever tasted. The coffee was also delicious. The barista was kind to talk us through the flight coffee options too which was great. I think where this cafe shines is its aesthetic, pastries, & drinks. One of my favorite Cafe Hagen locations! Located in the lobby of an office building in downtown Bellevue, this is a great place to get work done. Ample seating arrangements from tables to counter tops to booths. The menu is similar to other locations, serving pastries from Freya Bakery as well as other savory dishes like their healthy skillet that I usually get. I do like Cafe Hagen roasted beans that come from a variety of single origin sources. I like trying them pour over style. There's plenty of seating: dining height, bar height, loungey chairs, booths etc. to choose from. The space is well lit, inviting and clean. I came for pastries after having lunch, it was around 1:00 and they were almost out of pastries! My friends snatched the last 2 cruffin (croissant muffin) and I had the blueberry danish. We enjoyed the brunch board and the waffles especially. The croissant had good flavor but needed more cream and bananas. You can see just a few thin slivers of banana which is a cheap ingredient. A modern cafe that's inside the first floor of a corporate office. There's a parking garage and it's free on the weekends, the gates were opened. I came Saturday at 12pm, and there were a ton of opened parking spots. This cafe is Scandinavian inspired and it's reflected with their menu and flavors. The cafe is pretty minimalist with plenty of seatings. You seat yourself and order at the front. There's coffee drinks as well as alcoholic drinks too. I saw people working on their laptop, families having lunch, and friends meeting up. Prices are overpriced for the type of food/light lunch. The pastries were quite stale, as they were sitting out behind glass with a few flies having a family gathering over them. I will say, the coffee is wonderful--rich and robust, with unique syrups and milk alternatives available. What really knocks them down is how overpriced everything is. $13 avocado toast plus $3 for a single egg? $6.50 for a 12oz latte? $3 extra for a side of chips? Madness. You're paying for the "Instagram worthiness" of their food and drinks. Overall, the space is great for studying or hanging with friends, but even then it gets extremely busy and LOUD during peak hours and weekends (you will have to hunt for seating). I came here twice in the span of a week, once with my best friend for coffee and a chat, and once with my sister to grab a bite for lunch, and both times I was blown away by the relaxed ambiance and chill vibes. This area is definitely lacking a large coffee shop with lots of place to study and I think this space is perfect for collaborating over a drink. I love how large the tables are and the inviting atmosphere makes it so comfortable to spend hours here. (But they only validate parking for one hour.) Both visits I ordered a 16 oz iced oat milk mokka and the drink was consistently good with perfectly dispersed flavour and a deliciously creamy texture. When my bestie and I came here together she ordered an iced Scandinavian latte which she says tastes good both hot and cold. My sister decided on a regular vanilla latte and she liked it. No further notes from her. My sister and I decided to split the new Urban Pesto and it surpassed my expectations. I'm usually a picky eater and while I did remove the tomatoes and bacon, I enjoyed how flavourful the panini was. The pesto paired perfectly with the turkey and I loved the texture of the bread. My sister, who ate the sandwich without taking anything off, thought it was fresh and delicious. She also loved that the bread was that perfect balance of soft and crispy without tearing up the roof of your mouth. After loving the bite of blueberry danish I stole from my bestie last visit, I knew I needed to get one for myself. It's disappointing that they can't heat it up in the cafe, but I took it home and heated it up and I loved it. The blueberries were fresh and I loved the texture of the flaky pastry. My only confusion is whether or not you're supposed to bus your own tables. When I was here with my bestie, the staff told us where we could put our dishes when we were done and we cleared our own table. When I came with my sister, however, a barista bussed our table for us, which we really appreciated. I can't wait to come back to Cafe Hagen! So, I've been to Café Hagen a bunch of time so I'll spill the tea, if you want a little less noisy get tables closer to the elevators. If you prefer quieter times (less people), come on a weekday after 6 (they, as of now, close at 8pm). They are still the only branch that has their Café Hagen Deluxe that has the smoked salmon (the Kirkland branch does not include smoked salmon). Coffee is on the citrusy side but if you like a latte, I'd suggest that. They changed their seating arrangements so that there is so much more seating!! Yes! I did notice that their super soft fluffy eggs were cooked alittle harder, so watch for that. Their sandwiches are so yummy, I had a chicken pesto that was the bomb 5/5. read more

The whole lobby is bright and modern. Went there on a weeknight and there's a decent number of people sitting around but still plenty of seating left. You order at the counter, and get your drinks there. For hot food they give you a number and bring it to your table. This location has more food items compared to other Cafe Hagen locations, particularly some Japanese skewers. They also have cocktails but we didn't try them. We got their chicken meatball and seafood skewer combos, which were served over rice. Each serving is two skewers with a bit of rice. Tasted alright, although portions not that big. Also got their signature heart waffle and a slice of chocolate cake. The waffle was okay with the seasonal jam. The cake was good, and not too sweet. Overall bill was $60+ with tax. Ordered the salmon mousse toast- good flavors, nothing overwhelming but bread was pretty thick and hard to cut through, salmon wasn't soft/mousse like, it was more like chopped up. Tried the raspberry bar and it was dry and didn't have enough jam. The almond orange cake was more orange and sweet than almond. The cinnamon social was good, tons of cinnamon. All in all, solid experience, good food, prices are a little high but this is downtown Bellevue. Service was friendly. I'm very disappointed with Café Hagen in Bellevue. On Saturday, September 6th, I ordered the Nordic Breakfast Deluxe, which costs $33-$40, and asked for my eggs over easy. The staff had no problem accommodating the request. When I returned the very next day, Sunday, September 7th, I ordered the exact same dish and again asked for my eggs over easy. This time, the cashier dismissively told me, "we don't do that". I explained that I had literally been served the same modification the day before, she then said "well we are too busy to do that today." The attitude came across as snooty and dismissive. It's hard to justify paying $33-$40 for a breakfast dish where you can't even choose how your eggs are cooked. For that price point, I expected consistency, flexibility, and good service -- instead I left feeling brushed off and snubbed. If they can't be bothered to accommodate customers, they don't deserve the business. Unfortunately, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend Café Hagen Bellevue to others. read more

I'm already a fan of Cafe Hagen, having been to the original location several times. It's one of my favorite cafes. I stopped in here to grab a quick bite before a movie. I noticed it had a little less of the "higge" and a little more of that eastside "class." Beautiful and clean, but a loss of what makes Cafe Hagen what it is. It is an enormous space, though, with what seems like very inviting outdoor seating for nicer weather. It was slow for Sunday during the heart of brunch hours, but I was assured that was unusual. The service was fantastic, extremely friendly and very fast (again, a little slow). I ordered the avocado toast with soft boil egg. It was a beautiful presentation, just overloaded with avocado, perfectly cooked egg, some sprouts and mint. Walking and eating was impossible. This is better for sitting and maybe using some silverware. It tasted extremely fresh and delicious. While I'd be less inclined to hang out here and feel maybe a little less happy than I would in the original location, I still would recommend for anyone who gets a chance to drink coffee and eat here to do so! read more

The raspberry dome like dessert had a full form custard inside, with a shortbread cookie base and little raspberry filling in between the layers. The Kobenhavn latte tasted heavily of cinnamon and cardamom, which didn't suit my taste, so I wouldn't order it again. The waffles were soft, and while the whipped cream and jam were pleasant, they weren't particularly memorable. The market club sandwich was average and tasted like any typical turkey club; I had to add a lot of hot sauce to make it more flavorful. The healthy skillet was the best item out of everything I tried. However, the accompanying toasted bread was so hard that I didn't bother finishing it after the first bite.
