This was no longer available. The pancakes that were served weren't fluffy or yummy. Even the smoked salmon didn't taste as good as it used to. The rest of the buffet was mediocre and felt like the kind of breakfast you'd get complimentary at a Holiday Inn. For $35/person, I really expected more. Well, now I know. The good? Delicious!!!! I've stayed at Hyatt for thanksgiving last week and this brunch was the highlight of our stay. I mean the suite on the 24th floor was not too shabby either. But rolling down to breakfast here was great too. It's also one of the rare places I've dined in lately! Been here when they first opened a few years back for brunch. I remember mimosa bar and Bloody Mary bar. But that was about it. It was a huge event that I came for and I didn't care for the buffet.And returning was hard too since they only serve breakfast. But hotel stay was the best way to dine in. I skipped the buffet and went straight for their menu! And I'm so glad! Duck duck waffle! Crispy duck & waffle! It's like chicken and waffle but better. So delicious, I can use a second plate. Dungeness crab Benedict: good! Crab cake Benedict. Tiramisu pancakes! I got a short stack and I so regret it. Should've got a full stack. That sauce isn't waistline friendly but it was AHMAZING!!! I could have ate the whole full stack. Yumm yumm! I came the day after thanksgiving and they were slammed! Super busy, super packed. Sorry about late review of a egg shell filled eggs benedict breakfast. My over calcified fingers just got to typing it today after wiping the split butter from the hollandaise sauce. I ordered the benedict and my partner did too...stupid stupid me..! Like I said hollandaise was split a little bit...I let that slide (split butter helped the cause...!) I cut into egg and alas!! it was over medium to well done with firm golden yolk. I called the waitress who CHECKED with chef and maybe looked at my foreign brown skin and told me "yes we serve eggs over medium for a benedict...did you want it otherwise?" I was stunned after knowing that the whole world and all my life I was lied to by other good places that served me good poached easy eggs that flowed on to my benedict. But the chef and waiter were confident that is how they are done. I continued to eat with my shattered beliefs and then came another shattering experience. Egg shells with poached eggs. Thankfully the waiter/chef conceded that is not in the recipe and got us another poached egg with just a tiny shell instead of the crunchy big one. In case you like this dish please go for this brunch and order off the menu. Came here to celebrate a very special birthday on a Tuesday evening! The restaurant was almost empty and the ambiance was so nice. We sat by the window and had a beautiful view over the sunset in Seattle. The chef was so nice about dietary restrictions and even swapped out pasta for rice for a main course of seared scallops. For someone who is not a fan of salads, I found the salad quite palatable! The lotus and beet were such unique flavors. A friend and I wanted to catch up over some weekend brunch and a quick search led us to Eques. I actually didn't even know this place was inside a hotel but it's in the Hyatt on the second floor directly above Suite. I made a reservation on their website which was very smooth and we were seated right away even though it was packed. Guests have the option to eat their breakfast buffet but by the time we got there it was mostly scraps and the pieces that people skip over so we just stuck with the regular brunch. I ordered the crab benedict ($20) which was pretty dang solid! The base of the benedict was not your typical thick biscuit but it was a thinner biscuit with a bed of crab which was so unique. The pepper jam turned the entire thing 180 degrees though and that was mindblowing to me. Everything tasted heavy but the jam on top just brightened the entire thing up. I do wish that the side was maybe a side of breakfast potatoes rather than a tomato and avocado salad but they are just watching out for my health I guess... Overall I thought the dish was good but it was a little on the pricey side for brunch. At the end of the meal we were each given a coupon for 15% off our next meal so I might have to come back for their crab benedict again. read more

I don't know how or why I've never left a review despite having come here for years...the buffet is definitely a good option, especially if you factor in how much regular entrees are. And I think it's worth it if you are interested in lots of things. That being said, I've done the buffet a few times and prefer the entrees only because I don't particularly like a lot of the options but I will say the omelette bar and waffle options are good (but really, the best part is the potatoes)! Imagine, soft, perfectly seasoned potatoes. Literally, my favorite thing. My other favorite used to be the specialty pancakes, if you love sweet and decadent, this is the place! The Duck, Duck, Waffle is one of the most interesting and unique brunch dishes I've had in a long time. You've heard of chicken and waffles I'm guessing. The Duck, Duck, Waffle is a play on that dish with the fried chicken replaced by a confit of duck leg as well as a poached duck egg. To top it all off, you have candied almonds, a whisky syrup, and some greens. I found myself enjoying then Duck, Duck, Waffle even though I don't particularly enjoy duck and usually would rather have an egg benny than chicken and waffles. The duck meat was tender, the waffle was fluffy, and I don't remember the whiskey in the syrup being very noticeable - a plus in my book. A note on the service - our waiter offered to give us free drinks on the go (coffee/tea/OJ) and one of my friends took them on that which I thought was pretty neat. Despite the raving reviews my friend heard about this place, we ended up not being super impressed by the food or the service. My friend and I came here on a Sunday morning, it wasn't too busy and we ordered off the menu. The buffet was an option, but most of the food was what you would have in a classic breakfast- pancakes, eggs, bacon, and omelettes so we opted for the menu. I got the corned beef hash and she got the golden waffles. Both of us thought our food was lukewarm when it came out, so that made us sad. I was looking for a place downtown to have brunch and this place popped up in my yelp search. My search criteria was mimosa btw, I prioritize the importance things. I was able to get a table for one and seated as soon as I arrived even though it was peak brunch hour on a Sunday. The restaurant is in the Hyatt and pretty standard hotel-restaurant-like. The ambiance was a bit basic b but there was a promise of mimosas in my future so I was willing to overlook this lack of character. The server was great about helping to point me in the right direction for gluten free options and there were indeed several. Obviously first thing I ordered was a mimosa mostly because I'd just worked out so I had to replenish the calories stat. The server rocked my world by telling me they not only had gluten free bread, but also a dedicated toaster..so I responded with- bring me all of that millennial gf avocado toast. And so she did. The poached eggs and micro greens were awesome and the chicken sausage made life happy. It came out pretty quickly which put a damper on some very interesting people watching I was engaged in since I was chowing solo..what else is there to do aside from look at cat photos on my phone. Disappointing and not at all what I expected compared to the previous reviews and photos shared. Props to the sous chef cranking out made to order omelettes and to the hostess for her friendliness. Eques offered cold pancakes and runny scrambled eggs. The muffin was dry. The cost of brunch at $30 includes an omelette and a waffle, juice and coffee. I ordered a swiss and mushroom omelette with sour cream which was pretty good. The waffles they offered were all sugar city: ice cream cone (????), pina colada and others. My friend got the pina colada waffle, which was supposed to be a Belgian waffle but it was half of one, overcooked. She said it was all right. I ordered a glass of milk and pineapple juice. The milk never materialized, even asking another server who walked by for it. The waitress had to be asked multiple times for the cream for my friend's coffee and to bring her a refill. We were done eating for 20 minutes before she wandered by again and asked how we were and I could ask for the check. The feel is very much a hotel lobby. Had an early Easter brunch with my sons this past Sunday. Usually they are better with service and food. However, they openly admit to customers that they are understaffed. Once they did prepare the food, it was tasty. Hopefully they can address their staffing issues as food items kept running out and not being refilled quickly. Let's talk about the foods. There were quite a variety of foods. To our surprise, there's a carving station serving prime rib! I like the rib but my picky husband said the taste was just okay. It even had the decorative seafood stand with ice bunny! Their rack of lambs were tasty. My favorite is the strawberry white chocolate pancakes! It literally melts in my mouth and not too sweet. I met a friend for brunch here while I was in town, and they were wonderful about catering to the adults as well as the 1 year old. The corned beef was big chunks of flavorful meat. Multiple kinds of potatoes. The eggs were perfectly cooked to my request. The buffet, though we didn't order it, had a great selection of items. It's an annual tradition for my team to visit this place (but it was my first time ever), and they keep coming back every year (for the past six years), so from that alone I think shows that they enjoy this place. Turns out he was the manager. After waiting 20 minutes for our check, I went to the host station to request our bill and asked to speak with the manager. He ended up taking 20% off of our bill, hence the two stars instead of one. I was hosting brunch for people who were staying in downtown Bellevue so Equus worked well logistically. I had never been there so I did my normal online reconnaissance to check out the menu and reviews. Seemed appropriate so I booked reservations. It wasn't needed when we ate but if a restaurant offers reservations I typically book it. We were seated immediately. Next to the window - nice. The service was fantastic!! Our server was very attentive without being on top of us. I hate that I have forgotten her name. We decided to order off the menu instead of head to the buffet. I'm not a big fan of breakfast buffets. I feel like I am always disappointed. The food was very good. Our orders arrived in a timely manner. There was a mistake with one order and it was taken care of right away. Mistakes happen. We felt comfortable enough to sit for well over an hour to talk. There were no "walk bys" or anything that encouraged us to move along. The restaurant wasn't full so we didn't feel that we were holding other diners up. In fact our server encouraged us to stay as long as we wanted. Nothing but good things to say about Equus. I don't eat in downtown Bellevue very often but I will definitely be back to Equus the next time I'm looking for breakfast downtown. read more
