This is a solid brunch spot! I've been here twice now and each time have had a hard time deciding if I want the buffet or to order off the menu! There are so many good options! The buffet has standard run-of-the-mill breakfast items like eggs, pancakes, bacon, pastries, waffles, and an omelette bar. These are pretty much the standards at a hotel. The first time I was here I had the buffet. Most recently I ordered off the menu. Both times I had the bloody Mary bar option. The most tempting item in the brunch buffet this time was the guava pancakes. This was a unique item in the lineup and was the one thing that almost made me choose the buffet option again. My friend ordered the eggs in toast, with avocado and a side frisee salad. I had the crab benedict with small fingerling-type potatoes. My crab benedict was everything I had hoped for and more. I came in there hungry and left fully satisfied. My recommendation is to skip the tempting buffet, where you will fill yourself up with typical breakfast fare, and go for the menu options! read more

I usually don't go to this restaurant without a reservation because the wait time is usually long. However, I gave it a try last weekend without a reservation. It was surprisingly quick. Only 15-min wait versus 30-45 min wait! I ordered a Crab Benedict and iced americano and they were amazing! There were a few issues, which were quickly addressed by the server. 1) The table was not properly clean. After I asked them to fix it, it took them about 5-10 mins to re-clean my table 2) Foods came out somewhat slow. It was a busy Saturday so I didn't take it seriously. In the end, the restaurant waived drink fees and gave me a 20% discount. I appreciate the fact that they care enough to give the discount and apologize to me several times. I always wanted to try this place and I finally had a chance on my day off. The parking was free on Sundays at the Hyatt and the restaurant was on the second floor. When we got there, it was like 20 minutes wait. Not too bad! There were two options of brunch buffet, one was continental brunch for $ 20 per person, the other one was the full breakfast experience for $23. Obviously, we picked the latter. The server came to fill your orange juice and coffee if you wanted. A omelet station, hot food, fruits, oatmeal, cold cereal and baked pastries etc. and my friend told me that you can order waffles too. It's all included in the full breakfast experience brunch buffet. We ordered whiskey syrup waffle and blueberry cheesecake one. They were delicious! I absolutely loved the food here but not too much about the service. At first, our server was very attentive. About half way of our meal, he quietly dropped the check while we were taking a break. Then we ordered the waffles, he kept on walking a circle to see if I put the credit card in. Right after I put the credit card, he immediately grabbed the check. After he dropped the check, within 3 minutes, he came to check and kindly reminded us not to forget our credit card because I hadn't sighed it. We were in and out for about 45 minutes so I didn't understand why he tried to rush us for. It's not like we were sitting there for 2 hours and he had to turn a table. I waited on a table for many years so I was aware all the moves he made. Compared to the table next to us whose server was efficient but not impatient. This would be my second visit to Eques since two years ago. On all occasions it was for the Sunday Buffet Brunch. This would be American style and they have unlimited pancakes and eggs to order. Fresh fruits and bagels. I only gave it 3 stars because the variety was limited and their eggs to order was inconsistent. Some came over cooked and come was just too runny and that was the same for the omelette's as well. It's worth it when you stay at the Hyatt because you would have the breakfast complimentary. The Bloody Mary bar was interesting but it was not part of the brunch. It was an additional $8 per order but you get to be creative with your Bloody Mary's. It's fun for a try but I'm not really a Bloody Mary fan and honestly had no idea what I was doing. Would be fun if they had a little recipe on how an actual Bloody Mary recipe is and then you can add and mix according to how you please. read more

This is one of my favorite brunch places in Bellevue. I usually do the all you can eat, they have a pretty decent selection of usual brunch items: scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, French toast, pancake, smoked salmon, salad bar, and fresh fruits. There is also some asian items such as fried rice and depending on which day, miso soup as their soup of the day. I also enjoy their variety of jam and honey with the bread and bagels. When you sit down they give you a menu and you can order some waffles. I also like to go to the omelette bar and get a custom eggs white omelette. I think the variety at Eques isn't as vast as I would've liked, but the quality of food is good. As someone who is well traveled, I've been to a lot of hotel breakfast buffets. This one is definitely among the top 10. Here are the highlights: - Made to order omelettes or eggs: They have a variety of options to choose from from spinach, bacon, apple sausage, turkey, etc. You can even have your omelettes made with egg whites instead! You don't even have to wait- they bring the omelette to you. I've never seen that service before. - Made to order stuffed french toast: We didn't see this on the buffet line (we must have missed the menu card for), but we are grateful to our waitress for informing us. I've heard of made to order omelettes, but made to order french toast is a rarity to me among hotel buffets. There are options to choose from, like balsamic strawberry, blueberry cheesecake, maple bacon, apple pear crisp, etc. We were a bit overwhelmed so we split a balsamic strawberry... it was heaven. The sauce was sweet and tangy, and the stawberries were plentiful. The French Toast itself reminded me of a funnel cake, though it reminded my boyfriend of a doughnut. It was still really good! - Huckleberry Pancakes, Chorizo Polenta, Chicken Apple Sausage: These were some "unique" items on the buffet line... though I am pretty sure the choices rotate daily. The Huckleberry pancakes had a lot of huckleberries in it and were light and fluffy. The Chorizo polenta tasted great for someone who's never really had polenta, good texture... like a savory/cheesey oatmeal? Haha. As for the chicken apple sausage, I do not like regular sausage but these are a good substitute! - Drinks are included in the buffet option. We aren't coffee drinkers, but you can have lattes, coffee, etc. I thought that was a nice addition. - Good variety of fruit: It's always good to eat fruit during a heavy brunch... helps your stomach settle for the digestive period that's yet to come. They had lots of berries and melon slices. I also thought it was nice they had whole apples AND peaches for taking. I like peaches, so it was nice to eat one during a heavy meal. - Recently they started doing a Happy Hour Brunch - on weekdays after 8:30 am you can get $3 off buffet options or menu items (I believe on weekends, it's after noon). Since the American buffet is $19, during Happy Hour it is $16. It must be pretty recent, because when we got there at 8:30 am, they weren't sure if it started at 8 am or 9 am or if the buffet option was included. Sure enough when I showed the waitress the menu on their website, she honored the deal with no questions. Being a solo traveler is sometimes risky. I didn't think breakfast at Eques would be too risky. It's in large hotel, with people waiting to get in and have breakfast. My wait was about 10 minutes, not bad for a Sunday at around 10:00 am. But then I was shown to a two top table in the corner and became a forgotten customer of sorts. My server comes over with a bottle water and asks the usual questions - do you want coffee, do you need cream? Got my coffee but my server was delayed with the cream - got stopped by another table. Ordered my breakfast and waited. Had to flag a server down for additional coffee. My breakfast arrived via an expediter without the biscuit. I mentioned I ordered a biscuit and the response was this is what you ordered. I insisted I ordered a biscuit and what I eventually got was a slightly microwaved frozen biscuit. Flagged down another server and asked if I could get some jelly or jam and he responded right away and apologized for it not being served with the biscuit. Didn't eat the biscuit and paid my check. Oatmeal, bagels, croissants, muffins, scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, bacon, pancakes, berry pancakes, Beecher Cheeses, smoked salmon, salami, yogurt, granola, berries: blueberry, raspberry. This is my second visit and it's like most mid-high end hotel breakfast restaurants. I like that this is a good place to have a breakfast meeting. The chairs are comfy and it is quiet. The buffet at $24 has a lot of the usual hotel breakfast options. The oatmeal is average. The poached egg on smashed avocado toast is pretty good and eggs poached just right. Absolutely insanely amazing. You have to go here if you love good food. I got the corned beef hash and my husband got the chorizo hash and we shared sourdough toast. The corned beef hash was chunks of tender brisket that were melt in your mouth glorious, cooked to perfection, mixed with sautéed onions and diced tender potatoes, drizzled with house-made hollandaise and two eggs nestled on top. Usually we like to enjoy their Sunday brunch buffet. There are 2 options of buffet: American $19.95 and Continental $15.95 Coffee and OJ are included. The fruit smoothies are not included with the buffet, but those are really good ($7 each) Their omelette bar is a highlight for sure. The service is friendly and definitely family friendly. On an early Saturday morning, the restaurant was close to its full capacity. Of all, I love the honeycomb, so tasty to add to my oatmeal and yogurt. She explained the option of the breakfast buffet vs the regular a la carte menu. I went with her recommendation for the Crab Benedict, and I was not disappointed. I loved the pepper jelly and the citrus cream rather than a traditional hollandaise -- definitely set this dish apart! My husband enjoyed his Eggs Benedict, for which he sub'ed the buttermilk biscuit in place of the english muffin. The meal came quickly as well! Their OJ was good, their drip coffee was decent (no espresso here). The restroom is outside of the restaurant, around the corner, near the ballrooms. They also had waffles included that you can order and drinks. You could also order off the menu. My honey went right for the Crab Benedict. The waitress said the sauce is made with orange and lemon juice as well as champagne. I ordered just the basic egg benedict and we ordered a side of fresh fruit. The coffee was good. Our order came. My honey always lets me try his first. At the first bite I knew I ordered wrong. OH MY GOSH...IT WAS SO GOOD. My main question to the waitress was...why doesn't anyone know about this dish around here?! Mine was good. My only complaint was the ham was really thick cut. I wish it was a little thinner, not much, but it just didn't go with the English muffin it was on. That is a minor complaint. The sauce was good, it wasn't as spectacular as my husbands. Mine was a little thicker than ones I had at other restaurants. This restaurant just does breakfast/brunch. Do yourself a favor...go. When you go get the Crab Benedict. SERIOUSLY! When you call, Eques asserts they are the best game in town for breakfast and they are very busy. So a poor attitude over the phone. The service was extraordinarily poor and slow: left coffee cups 10 minutes after asking for coffee but did not bother to fill them until we asked for it 5-10 minutes later. The server was generally nowhere to be found, did not ask how things were, did not check the accuracy or quality of our orders, and overall did less than the bare minimum. The buffet was very poor in selection and quality. The omelette was small was not cooked to order and tasted average. Overall not worth the time, the money, the experience. I am a resident of Bellevue and used to frequent the place and highly recommend it: no more, Eques has lost my business, and the business of everyone I know.
