We have dined at this restaurant three times in the last two years and placed to-go orders 3-4 times. Overall the quality of the food has been good. This review is for the last take out order. We ordered four rolls. They were crammed into two containers so tight that we could not remove them without tearing most of them apart. Most of the rolls were contaminated from the adjacent rolls which really ruined the appearance and taste. After spending over $70 we were very disappointed in the lack of care taken to ensure our food arrived at home in good order. read more

Was SO beyond pleased to find this Sushi Restaurant today. After a few failed Sushi attempts in Vancouver so far since our move here, this was a total gem find for us! We came in today around 1. The mango iced tea is amazing! Refills included and has real chunks of mango! We ordered the Coco roll, and the Mt. Rainer ( or Mt.Hood, whichever has the cooked salmon on top ) they were both absolutely fantastic! So delicious, perfectly cooked salmon. We also got a 3 item bento - spicy chicken, beef, chicken teriyaki- the portions were on the smaller side, but the meats were SO flavorful, definitely worth it! Good sushi and a huge selection of it, as well as an extensive menu of other items. Rolls are really nicely sized - I feel like they are bigger than some other places. What really impressed me here was the kids' bento box! For $9 you get to choose 2 items - my 7 year old choose a CA roll and gyoza (2 pieces). Plus it comes with edamame, white rice, and miso soup, all in a cute little partitioned box. She was so excited when it came out! A little bit spendy...2 premium rolls, a glass of wine, the bento box and a scoop of ice cream (not included with the kids' meal, which for $9 I think it should be) came to over $40. Absolutely friendly staff and the sushi was so delicious and fresh tasting. I believe we got the bubble bubble, the joy joy and another roll with mussels on top. Can't remember the name. Along with the rolls my sister and I ordered two nigiri orders. One order of seared salmon and one ikura. Did not disappoint. I'd say this place has potential to be a 4/5 stars but after my first visit I'd go with a 3/5 based on what I ordered. The jalapeño roll was fine and the tempura on it helped but it would had been way better if it had cream cheese in it. The sumo crunch roll was solid as well but I've had better deep fried rolls at conveyor belt sushi places. I put in an order for delivery. The easiest order ever: one rainbow roll, one California roll, one Philadelphia roll. What I received was a pack of edemame, a Rainer roll, and a Philadelphia roll. The driver didn't mess up because my name was written on this sealed order in big black sharpie. This wasn't cheap. $40 for a wrong order. I couldn't eat the other roll because it was spicy so I threw it away. Love this place...close to home; reasonably priced, especially during happy hour and great rolls like the Double Crunch Roll. Fish always tastes good and seems fresh and love their seaweed salad. I started my meal with a bowl of the miso soup, and it is hands down the best miso soup I've ever had at a restaurant. I feel that the soup is usually pretty watered down at the restaurants I've been to before, but this one is full of flavor! I ordered a bento box with chicken teriyaki and a California roll. I got full after eating half (which is a good problem to have). The dressing on the salad was very refreshing, the gyoza was served with a semi sweet sauce on it, and the teriyaki sauce was perfect. The only reason I'm not raving about the California roll is because it's just that, a California roll. Next time I come, I will try their specialty sushi :) read more

Yum! I was very happy with Mio. We got the bubble bubble and volcano rolls which were both good; though I preferred the bubble bubble. I also had a sake flight. Kurosawa and Mirror of Truth were my favorites of the three. Our waitress was attentive and courteous, and the restaurant was clean and well lit. I'm looking forward to coming again. Watch out though as they are closed between 3-5pm. We made it just in time, but I did see a few people get greeted with a locked door. read more

My son and I at at the last minute late on a Friday night decided we wanted Sushi. We found Mio Sushi was open until 10pm and it was already 9:25pm and 5 minutes away. My expectations were that they would see us walking in, basically roll their eyes and try to throw something down for us to eat and hurry us out. AMAZING people, AMAZING service and AMAZINGLY fresh food even at that time of night. I couldn't have asked for more with regard to the hospitality we received and the quality of the dishes we had, not to mention nicely portioned dishes. I recommend it to anyone that loves Sushi. The rolls were decent, but the sashimi, which is already the most expensive thing we got, was not great at all. Cheap fish you can tell is either just straight bad quality or frozen. This place is pretty alright. I've enjoyed every roll I've ordered here. It's my most frequented sushi joint in the 'couve. The service always seems a little slow. More then once, we've had to remind the wait staff to bring us water, or flag them down for the check. That said, they ALWAYS seem busy. The wait staff is always really friendly, I just think they might be a bit understaffed. It's also pretty loud. Either way, I know when I go here that I will get good sushi. So I'll be back. Been here 3 times now and it's average. I mostly come over here out of convenience due to its location. There is a sushi track near by, but this is nice for the sit down preference. They even have teriyaki bentos for those who don't care for sushi. Everything I get here is good. I do like the fact that they offer some rolls with real crab. The prices are average, but I never came here for happy hour. I should probably try that. Service is also okay. We requested a fork for that guy who doesn't eat sushi and although she acknowledged it and agreed, we didn't see her again till the bill came. At the previous outing I came with a friend and we had a question about the sushi and we literally had to flag her down. We could have done the same for the fork but it wasn't worth our time.
