Upon entering we were seated promptly with our choice of booth or chair at the bar. Our drink order was taken right away but it seems they may have gotten distracted as we had to ask again for the drinks, despite them only having two other booths occupied. The sushi quality was fine. Had some seared salmon, calamari, spicy salmon rolls and mussels. The calamari was a little oily and bland but everything else was as expected, just ok. Everything I tried besides the spicy salmon roll was ordered from their menu and not from the conveyor belt. Unfortunately the raw salmon going around on the conveyor belt looked a little sad and old. I passed on that. I wouldn't totally avoid this place but I've had better sushi in town and wouldn't be making this my regular go to spot. read more

Weekend lunch with the minis. As far as conveyor belt sushi goes, this place is decent. The asparagus roll is one of my favorites. The nigiri is pretty good, fresh fish (salmon is my go to) which is surprising. I like the variety and honestly, the prices are decent. No, it's not top grade stuff, it's belt sushi, so don't come here trynna judge against somewhere like Oishi or Mt Fuji lol. I thought the indifference I was greeted with during my first experience here was a one off, maybe the staff was stressed. The food was good so I decided to come back once more. This time around they were worse. The lady who I presume is the owner waved me off signaling that they were busy prepping other people's food and 5 minutes later, not so much as a hello. They just continued their discussion in their own language while I stood there waiting for my order to be taken. The staff here are really nice and the miso soup was surprisingly good! But the place could definitely use a deep clean. A lot of the lids and plates looked dirty, some were chipped or had black residue inside, and you can tell some of the sushi on the belt has been sitting out longer than it should. I love the idea of conveyor belt sushi, but the lack of freshness and cleanliness made it hard to enjoy. With better upkeep, this place could be so much better. read more

My new favorite place. I don't eat out often, I just don't have the money for it. But this place is affordable and I think the sushi tastes great! I've never eaten here, but I've ordered sushi to go and I 100% recommend it if you want to get your sushi fix and stay under $25 (I get a lot for about $21 every time I order) If you are looking for a nice place to go with friends or family when they visit, probably wouldn't pick this place. I hate leaving bad reviews but I've given them a try time and time again and it just keeps disappointing. I've been ordering take out sushi ever since Covid every other week so I have no issue with take out. Also, keep in mind the location by the mall I've been too and it's at least a 3 or 4 so I keep my expectations reasonable. What I like - online portion size options - can order "half" a typical roll size so I can try multiple ones. Has several types of hand rolls. Open on Sunday's. What I dislike - the food itself. The avocado wasn't fresh and was very brown. The size of the rolls were tiny. The crab salad tasted almost as if there was too much lemon or they added sour cream. All in all it was very disappointing. I recommend Mio Sushi or Sachi Sushi instead. read more

As far as value is concerned, five stars. We ordered from the menu (the belt had very limited options at the time). We tried half a dozen different items and all were good (nothing fancy, but not sloppy either), at a great price. Service was more ready than we were, and attentive when needed. Whenever I go here, it's always during a lunch break or after work just because it's nearby, but I wouldn't say that it's great sushi. I mean for a conveyor belt sushi, it's alright and it's very affordable, so I guess it really is a "you get what you pay for". I typically eat around $12 worth of sushi because the pieces are very filling and not expensive at all. Service is also okay and hygiene in the place is alright. However, I know there are a couple better sushi places that are not too far, so if you have time then I would recommend checking a different place out. However, if you're just craving sushi and short on time, then this place is not too bad. read more

I totally believe all of the reviews here. I bet the overall stars are legit. BUT as a vegetarian living in an expensive part of an expensive country in an expensive world... $3 for kappa maki or jalapeño cream cheese rolls is wonderful. I've only ordered delivery from Sushi Mioga, and it is the only place in 2022 where it's hard for me to hit the delivery $ minimum. I know I'm going to face an onslaught of food just to hit $12 or whatever. So if you didn't like the actual resto or didn't like the seafood, I totally get it. But people in PDX have so much good veg food, so I have only love for a cheap, reliable spot for vegetables in the Couv. Also, with prices this low, I hope they pay fairly. If I need to pay an extra $1 for the workers here to get settled up, I'd be down. Add a tip menu item to delivery service to start at least. read more

I've both dined at and ordered takeout from Sushi Mioga, and the food has been delicious each time. I have yet to order something other than sushi, but I know my boyfriend ordered a dish (though I can't recall what it was exactly) and enjoyed it. Fresh food, nicely set up belt of food.. I like signs with pictures detailing what is in the sushi. I have enjoyed all the sushi here and the hot food options. I have had the teriyaki chicken and yakisoba, fried rice, etc. between my spouse and I ordering we have both sides of the menu covered. This is affordable good solid sushi options along with familiar entrees so if you are not partial to Sushi, don't fret . other foods here are delicious! this is a newer place and it is my hope that they will be here a very long time because This food is good!! Don't take my word, see for yourself. I've read the other reviews, Sushi is an acquired taste for some, and there is more than just good sushi here. Afraid I have to take it down by a star. Basically, the level of cleanliness now leaves something to be desired. The conveyer belt needs a good cleaning. Lots of crumbs. Several of the clear plastic covers are cracked. Other than that, they haven't really changed their basic selection since I first started going there. Actually, there are less choices these days. Lots of blank spots and they should take the little signs down if they have no intention of filling them. Kudos for being the first place to turn the conveyer belt back on after the pandemic. Walked out quickly due to poor service: upon entering, there was a blackboard outside of the door of meal options of which we chose to have & perhaps some sushi as well- however, when inside, none of the (3 of) guys knew what was on the blackboard! This is my regular go to sushi whenever I'm in the couve. The people are very nice to us and are quick to serve. Sometimes they get busy, but the staff work fast. It's a very cute atmosphere. There's TVs, cute decorations, and the conveyer belt. Good for dates or just dinner with the family! My sibling had a seizure here, but we still go because the food and service is that good. Even if your family doesn't want to go with you, takeout is always an easy choice. They don't make quality sushi anywhere else in Vancouver. It's so fresh and the flavors are perfect. We came in a little later and it was slim Pickens on the belt and me being a vegetarian, I usually have to order my sushi regardless. I loved their spicy mayo, probably the best I've had anywhere. There were two guys working and the waiter was terrific, brought us extra sauce and waters. When it came to the rolls, they were not very good. Small plates and you could tell that they were made in a rush. I had avocado rolls, veggie rolls (which were missing the asparagus) and ordered the asparagus rolls. I'm usually not picky but the asparagus roll I received was one that was on the conveyor belt for hours and was so gross. I asked for a fresh one from the sushi maker and he said okay. I never got a new one. I was disappointed in this place. I'm not a picky person but it didn't live up to my sushi standards. I was with two others who didn't like all of their rolls either. Absolutely horrible. Worst possible service. Avoid this place!! I ordered my food online 35 minutes before I showed up. I walk in and there are about 5 people all standing around the register. None of the employees are even acknowledging our presence. No one is manning the cash register. I asked the customers standing there and we were all waiting to pick up our online order. After waiting about 15 minutes (which defeats the entire purpose of ordering online so you don't have to be around people during a worldwide pandemic), none of the employees had talked to any of us. The entire time, they were taking the orders of the people dining in and making their food, but completely ignoring all of us waiting to pick up our orders. All I wanted to do was pick up my order. After 20 minutes, I gave up and walked out. I'll never go back. read more

4 stars, not for being the best sushi restaurant in the world but for being good at what they do and still being an above average option in the west Vancouver area. Mioga opened not too long ago and I have been 3 times now. Relatively good prices, so far no issues sitting in a booth and overall the service has been nice. It's a fairly average looking conveyor belt sushi restaurant but I have enjoyed the food and have yet to leave disatisfied or unhappy with any aspect. My favorites are the shrimp and veggie tempura (highly recommend for vegetarians too minus the shrimp), spice salmon and tuna roll, and several others were tasty. Nigiri is not their strength which is one of the reasons why they dropped a star but it's on par with most conveyor belt places I have been. The only few areas of opportunity for this new location is the following: 1. Double check on customers a little more often. I went 10 plus minutes needing more water. The main guy offers fantastic service but it does get busy at times checking out other customers and the other lady working was not very attentive. They had her wiping out all of the lids when they had at least 100 plus clean lids ready and she sacrificed high quality service for the customers. 2. Small issue but the 2 tvs had very strange channels on. If a place has televisions on there should at least be something interesting and not the shopping network. 3. If I order something directly I expect it to be made for me after I order. The sushi maker tried to grab one off the belt instead of making it fresh and that I DO NOT like. Should never happen. Would most certainly recommend though for quick and easy sushi dinner. read more

My wife was sweet enough to pick up some sushi to go on her way home today. We've never been here before, so let's give it the good ol' try! Let me preface my review, by saying that we love sushi. Opened up the container and literally started laughing out loud. What is this? It definitely did not look fresh, it definitely was extremely tiny roles, and just plain not appetizing looking. 1) Taste: I will say, it wasn't the worst I've ever had, but not at all worth uping the star rating of this review. 2) Price: WAAAAAYYYYY Overpriced for what you get. We easily can go to our other favorites in town and pay similar or even less and get much more value. Value being: better quality rice, fresher larger fish portions, larger rolls, better execution of making the roll, and will not skimp on the sauces or chopsticks. (really?) 3) Will we return: That is a big fat no. So disappointed... We like supporting during this entire COVID thing, but sorry... This place will not be a repeat. Based on the other google reviews, it appears it may be a good place, but those are from months, if not years ago. They do NOT use fresh seafood & if they do they need a new supplier. The spicy tuna nor mussels were fresh at all. The only thing that were ok were their pot stickers. Egg rolls and yakisoba noodles with shrimp were awful also. They guy totally messed up our order. He forgot 3 things and got 2 things we didn't even order. Bad food, bad service! I'm on vacation visiting a friend, she remarked she had no intentions of going back: Waiter gets your order based off you circling on a menu. Since the waiter only came around to give us our drinks, we weren't offered refills or any additional sushi. We weren't even told how the end of the experience goes so we sat there forever until we flagged down someone and asked how we were supposed to leave. Why go to conveyor belt sushi if you don't use the conveyor belt? Wouldn't recommend unless you were trying to be cheap. The only dish I didn't like was the tuna salad. On the menu it looked like chunks of tuna, avocado, and cucumber. What I got was the "tuna paste" that looks like cat food dolloped on rice with sauce on top. Didn't see avocado or cucumber in it at all. The bottles of Kikoman soy sauce are being refilled with soy sauce that is substantially worse in quality. This place would be better if they used better soy sauce. read more
