This sushi and Ramen restaurant is inside the Vancouver mall upstairs near the food court AMC Theater

Sushi with all the bells and whistles. It was entertaining to see the robot trolley ride the rails to a special order guest. The dim lighting and glass walls helps take you out of the hustle and bustle of the mallitToday I ordered take out, it was delicious. The staff were smiling and seemed to enjoy their job. I will definitely dine and take out again.

We kept meaning to stop by, so we finally made the trip purposefully for lunch. They were not very busy when we went in and we were promptly seated. I ordered a hand roll and a beef bowl, my partner ordered the yakisoba. We also got a couple things off the sushi train. The beef bowl was flavorful and a good portion. The yakisoba was...honestly nothing special. It was very good court in terms of quality. The hand roll was amazing (pic below). The sushi on the train looked very nice, but their prices are odd. It's not that it's over priced, it's that the cheaper items arnt cheaper by much despite being basic (for example, on the cheapest plates you have things like edamame and miso soup) but those are 3 dollars each, while the sushi plates go up to 5.95 each. I'm also not used to sushi restaurants that charge you for the green tea and charge you for the miso soup. Not a huge complaint, just unusual to me. Overall the fish quality is pretty good, but the cooked entrees are not on the same level. I'd stick to the sushi if we returned. One weird thing is the tipping system when you pay. It doesn't appear that you can add custom tips so they start at 18% and go up. That's not a problem if the service you are getting is 18% worthy, but keep in mind that no food is being brought/served to you. So that's a little high for a train bringing me my food, and the only thing I can get a free refill on that would require a waiter is the water.

Hokkaido Sushi & Ramen comes in to replace a previous Conveyor Sushi place that did not meet customer needs. This new restaurant boasts cute decorations on the walls, a stronger Japanese decorum, and a cute delivery robot the delivers food with a Japanese accent ( "special delivery"!). Reminds me of when I was in Tokyo. The prices for the food is comparable to what's in the area for Japanese, which is pricier than the fast food in the food court across the way. The service here is very friendly. The front and end staff were all Japanese from what I could tell and they were passionate about making sure they provided good service and experiences. Again, much like my time in Tokyo! I ordered a variety of items including hand rolls, sushi, Ramen, and a Poke Bowl ( not really Japanese). Everything was fresh, presentable, delicious, and made with care! I have to again compare it to my experiences in Japan. When you request Wasabi, it's freshly grated! It's not the low quality paste you'd normally get. Just because it's in the mall does not diminish its quality, they are definitely worth a try if you're craving Japanese! They're amongst the better options in the Vancouver area. I'll definitely be back. The decor, service, cuteness and my frequent visits to the mall make it an excellent choice!

I did not enjoy my food at all, the ingredients were mushy and old. The service was also weird and passive aggressive. Didn't love overall.

First time here... and staff was great. Very good service…read more I ordered the Tom Kha Ramen soup (takeout) as I wanted to try it. I then went next and did some quick shopping... and picked up the soup when I was done. It was waiting for me even though I was not gone long. Got home, put everything in a bowl... and tried to make it pretty! Chashu pork portion was small, but it tasted fine. The three shrimp included were yummy and large. The soft eggs were ok, as were the bean sprouts and herbs. The broth was sort of like a cross between Tom Kha and Tom Yum.... tasty though. The ramen noodles were basically one solidified block by the time I got home, so I just cut them up a bit before eating. I will have to try some of their other dishes too....

We popped in here for lunch. It was pretty quiet but had lovely staff…read more We tried the steamed dumplings, pineapple fried rice, and the kahri noodles. The dumplings were very good. Looks can be deceiving but they were perfectly cooked, filled with meat and the sauce they came in was savory and sweet. The pineapple fried rice was lacking in a bit of seasoning/flavor. Texturally it was very good, cooked well. Adding in some sambal helped. The kahri noodles were very good, reminded me of drunken noodles. It states it's spicy, but there wasn't much, even with asking for extra spice. Overall I would definitely try again, but it wasn't spectacular.
