I'm just adding to the list of customer service complaints. I've been there three times, due to convenience, cost and speedy delivery but there is no customer service! Male employee establishment possibly why the name has man in it but they act like rejected elves and they're rude to put it plainly. No greetings, smile, care or small talk. They behave as if they're doing you a favor. I've learned my lesson. I will not support chauvinist or caveman behavior. Just staring at a monitor and walking about like robots. You can earn degrees, build a business, be intelligent but you must learn customer service. I'll go back to the library and find another printing company. The staff need a course in people skills. The place is dull, the staff is poor, the energy is off and I'm not going back anymore! read more

Initially, we only needed slip covers printed, but their work was so impressive that we decided to also request extra copies of the book for our launch party. They did an outstanding job. The 140-page book, with perfect binding, displayed vibrant colors and precise cutting, all at a very reasonable price. Despite their website lacking in sophistication, do not underestimate them; the final outcome will exceed your expectations. Minuteman Press is rude and lacks professional courtesy. Customer service is non existent. I've tried to overlook their unprofessional behavior over the years, but they are constantly dismissive and unwavering in their harsh and abrasive delivery. On a number of occasions, our conversations went like this: Them: Hello, Minuteman Press Me: Hello, this is...how are you? Them: What do you want? Me: Wow! Their printing products are average at best. Other printing companies can do the same or better work but with kindness and care. I submitted something to be printed a couple days ago, and firstly, the online website is terrible. I had to submit one file at a time, and needless to say, they ended up with three request. I called yesterday to follow up, and they were going to charge me to draw up a draft, and they were supposed to get back in touch with me, and I have not heard anything. Minuteman rocks. Whatever your printing needs, they can handle them. The guys here were quick to respond to me via both e-mail and phone. They quickly quoted me a price that was not just competitive, but blew the online spot I was checking out of the water. They told me my print job would be done by a certain time later that day, and had it ready two hours earlier. And unlike my friends, family and other print shops I spoke with, they actually seemed happy to speak with me. I called two other print joints that had similar prices, but I went with Minuteman because Wayne didn't act like I was annoying him by trying to pay him to print things for me. Being a small and cozy establishment, there is a small nook to print out pdf files, jump-drive documents, and also internet materials. There is one printer available to print directly from what I see. A high number of brilliant accolades of the wall line the wall indicating that they are legit. Alongside these plaques are samples of take out menus, business cards, and court documents. I have to say that this was not a bad experience. Calling beforehand, I knew the cost of the copy per page of a black and white copy. Ready with warm greetings and a bright smile, I came in ready to copy by myself, and then noticed that someone does it all for you. As I came in, I saw there men at work in this company. Right after I entered, a gentleman approached me immediately at the counter to help me. After I told him that I called earlier and am ready to photocopy my b & w copies, he let me know that the cost of a copy is actually 15 cents a page. I commend him for being a direct and straightforward, New Yorker in the making, and I could tell he wanted to save time and energy by being aboveboard about the pricing(although it did not match the price over the phone). Armed with workbooks in hand, I was able to photocopy about 30 pages for about $4 and some change. Bear in mind, I was expecting to spend only $3 due to the price told to me over the phone, and soon realizing there was a slight discrepancy in the cost of b & w copies printed from single sheets and those that are photocopied out of a book. This disparity made me apprehensive, since I wanted to be sure if I brought enough with me to match this. I am glad that he provided an explanation for the reason for the difference in pricing: for manual copying from the printers, an individual is needed in order to flip each book to have it printed opposed to automatically scanning by detached sheets. That was fair. I do appreciate the assistance from a worker named Daniel. He was professional, friendly and understanding. In addition, he did an splendid and efficient job of my photocopies, without an errors or missing pages. He offered me paper clips to attach my sheets so they do not end up missing or out of place. I believe he is the reason why I will come back here. Well, to say the least, the price cost difference bothered me(minus half a star). I just wish I knew the price difference before I came so I would not be caught off-guard. Yes, that is not a good feeling. Thankfully and graciously, they accept change in coins! I will be back, and next time, I will bring more money. Lol. ARTISTS BEWARE! (This is not a review of their quality of work because I never got that far.) If you are an artist looking to have prints and/or copies made of original work, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Here's why: I brought in a small original drawing (made of white colored pencil on black paper) to have copies made. When I told the guy behind the counter that I just wanted wanted to make copies, he took the drawing and began running his fingers over the surface with a puzzled look on his face. Just before that puzzled look turned to pure annoyance, he started RUBBING the drawing with his thumb then asked "uhh...what IS this?" I told him it was "just colored pencil...it doesn't really come off." His reply? "Yeah, I can't do this. I don't want it rubbing off on my machine." Surprised, I said "Oh! Okay, thanks anyway...have a good day!" and turned to leave. His response of "uh-huh," accompanied by an eye roll, was my last experience as I walked out the door. None of the colored pencil actually came off, but I WAS left with a big, fat thumb-print smudge on the paper itself, which now needs to be fixed before I take my business to a more professional establishment. If nothing else, the poor customer service is reason enough to find another printer. read more

I usually am a very happy reviewer, but as every single person I know who has used this Minuteman location has said the exact same thing, I feel like it needs to be said that I have never received such "blah" customer service from any business ever. It was like the people who worked there had no interest in you, your project, and could care less if they had my (or anyone else's) business. Honestly, the best word to use is "blah." I have used them 4 times now (3 business, 1 personal) and I keep thinking "next time will be different", but I think I'll look elsewhere. read more

Poor quality printing, and they don't carry high-quality paper. Not recommended for anyone who needs headshots or portfolio prints. when I expressed concern at the quality of my prints instead of trying to ameliorate the issue and keep a customer, they were rude seemed put-out. I had some postcards printed here recently. Their customer service was solid by email & phone, the pricing was quite low compared to other printers I contacted, they allowed me to look at a proof first, AND they did same day printing. Regarding the supposedly rude service from their male staff, I'd agree they weren't the warmest/cuddliest bunch when I went to pick the postcards up, but is that really the end of the world? I'd rather save $30 than have the designer smile at me! read more

6 booklets printed, saddle-stapled and trimmed in less than 20 minutes. The young man who handled the job was precise, helpful, and generous: for example, he suggested to have the printer do the saddle-stapling, as I was not aware of this option and am used to having to do it myself. The final price was very affordable as well. I will definitely return, and I highly recommend this place if you are looking for fast, easy, painless and great quality of a print. read more

I had to print out a 330 page manuscript to edit, but my office is currently being moved, so I don't have access to free printing. My home printer is a crap inkjet, and therefore not up to such a huge job. I called all the printing places within a 2mile radius and Minuteman had the best rates, hands down. The whole job was under $20, and they were super quick and friendly. I can't speak to their other services, but I was very pleased. They even triple hole punched. Highly recommended! read more

I'm new to Brooklyn, and didn't have a clue where to go to have new pages for my graphic design portfolio printed up. On my first attempt, I ended up going to a very pleasant mail-and-copy place in Brooklyn heights, but it just wasn't what I needed: the paper was too thin and flimsy, and 11"x17" was the largest size available, so I couldn't get the full-bleed effect of my designs. Just today, I looked up Minuteman Press. I called Wayne this morning and and told him my situation. He advised me to bring in my portfolio's old pages and the documents to be printed (they prefer PDF files), and see if we could get a close match. I have an interview tomorrow morning, so I asked if I could get same day service, and Wayne said I should be able to. When I went in, I spoke with Sean and reiterated my situation. He opened up the files and took a look. He showed me a paper stock which was a closer match, and said he could print on 12x20 and cut to trim, so that the full artwork was represented. The job was done right away while I stood there and waited (it took all of ten minutes, maximum), and was reasonably priced. I'm only withholding that 5th star because no one was particularly warm and friendly, but they certainly weren't rude, either: just efficient and businesslike, and really, that's exactly what I needed. I'll definitely be using Minuteman Press for any future full-service printing needs I have. Tomorrow I can go into my interview feeling more confident about my portfolio, now that the new pages match the old ones! I'm extremely grateful to Wayne and Sean for saving my neck on this one, in such an expedient and laid-back manner. I definitely recommend them. read more

They are on the yelp list for best inkjet printing but when I called, I was told they don't use inkjet printers.

Very helpful and I haven't been able to find better prices for color laser printing. I came in just a few minutes before closing with an urgent job and they were happy to help me in my pinch. Definitely recommend checking them out before going to the big brand name shops -- I find prices and service better here. Thanks guys! read more

D.M.A. I had to have some legal documents scanned for me, and it was over a 1,000 pages that had to be saved onto a flash drive. I had thought of doing it myself, but knew it would take a long time; I began searching around for a professional place that can help me. I did lots of research, could not find any place that wasn't going to charge me a lot, to my surprise I thought such places as Copy Cottage and Staples would be just the fit, but I was so wrong, they we're way to expensive. I happen to come across Minuteman Press, and I am so happy that I did, it was so worth it!! Sean and Wayne were so courteous, professional, and respectful, they explained everything to me and wasn't looking to take advantage of me in anyway. They did an excellent job on the paperwork, put everything back in order, and did not charge extra to have my scanned documents saved on to 2 flash drives, the results upon my review were outstanding!! I came in less than two hours before closing on a Saturday needing 450 booklets printed, folded, and stapled, and they delivered with time to spare. This place is worst. Or they have the worst employee. I went to FedEx office down the block but their copier was down, so they sent me to this terrible business. This guy with tattoo on his arms (looks like 40 yr old hipster) practically flipped out on me since he was "swamped". First he said he is too busy to do my job. Then I asked when how soon he can work on it. He said "tomorrow". I agreed with it and was going to leave my job for tomorrow pick up. Then he changed his mind and he is "too busy to take any jobs that he needs to take "directions""???? WTF? What kind of job doesn't need directions from clients. What D-bags. I went around the corner to Atlantic Press. This place is hole in the wall but they happily took care of my job with "Direction" in 5 min and charged me $6. Stay away from this place. Places like Minuteman Press need to up their game and know how to do proper customer service. read more

Minuteman press are life savers!!! My wedding invitations arrived late and the calligrapher we had booked said that she was so backed up, it could take her two weeks before she could finish addressing them. In a bind, as the invitations should have gone out a couple of weeks prior, I turned to minuteman press to see what they could do! I went in and spoke to Sean who told me that for $1.50+tax/envelope he could use a pretty script that looks just like calligraphy(mind you, my calligrapher was going to charge $5/envelope)-- when I came back the next day, after organizing all of my addresses into an excel spread street that I then uploaded using their website(couldn't get easier!), I came armed with all of my envelopes. I had anticipated being bombarded with a long list of font types/colors as I had been when working with the calligrapher, however, Sean just asked to see the invitation and told me he would design something to match it and then send me a proof via email which if I didn't like, he would revise. Less than an hour later, I was emailed a proof that exactly matched the font from the invitation. I replied saying that it looks great and 30 min later, he emailed to tell me my envelopes were done! When I arrived to pick them up, they were beautiful and the color/font perfectly matched our invitations. I also had worried that the printer would have a difficult time with my envelopes as they had liners, however, there wasn't a single problem. I credit Minuteman press to saving me from a bridal meltdown- I loved that I didn't have to make any decisions at all(at this point in the game of wedding planning- I'm tired of all of the details) Sean asked no questions and just knew what to do making it such a stress free and easy process. I not only saved an additional $3.50/envelope, but I also was able to have my invitations mailed later that day with another item crossed off my "to-do" list! I will definitely be using minuteman press in the future!! read more

I'm sorry, but keeping up with the 'You had one thing' meme - you have one thing to do... make copies. Sorry guys, but you didn't quite get that one thing today. Most people coming to print something are usually on a deadline, and stressed. I come in before a job interview to print up something, and ask if this was the only computer. Gruff reply: yeah. Never mind that the whole network with printers attached thing isn't set up either - so you have to email them a file to send it to a colour printer. No, what gets my ire is that after asking about the computer, I spend a good 15 minutes trying to get it to work (Chrome and IE repeatedly crashing, and your computer is slow as molasses in February in the Arctic Circle). Now I'm a fairly easy going customer - if something doesn't go properly, I usually drop subtle hints, like "hmm, Chrome keeps on crashing..." - a smart employee would pick up on that and come over and help. Nope, not this place. After restarting their Slow Hand Luke computer, I gave it another 5 minutes and gave up, put on my coat and walked out of the store. As I walked out I wondered for a nanosecond if the guy behind the counter would come after me to yell "hey, you own me for the $5 dollar fee to rent the computer." That, of course, would assume that there's some acknowledgement of the customer. I know people hate Kinkos, but at least they acknowledge me and ask if I need any help when I'm in their store. One star because I try to support local businesses, but some of them don't make it easy, and know they have a captive audience because of their location. Guess I'm trying to be generous. One other star for the printed examples up on their walls of brochures, biz cards, etc. etc. I guess if you had examples of large print jobs you need done they'd probably be fine with those. The simple 5 minute job? Not so much. I hate having to write a negative review for a local business, but no excuse guys. read more

I went about a month ago with a friend. The men working were extremely mean, acted extremely busy and important despite the fact we were the only ones in the shop, and tried to charge us for samples. We left thinking we were crazy, but immediately found a different copy shop on Smith Street where people were actually kind (copy cottage). Their communication is confusing and they seem to care less about fixing it.
