We ordered takeout for mint Asian kitchen for the first time last night and we were super impressed and happy with our meal! Our one tip of feedback would be that they make an online order option to give people the choice to do that versus having to call in. We got their chicken pad Thai with a medium spice, you can order, mild, medium, or hot. The medium was a perfect kick of heat that didn't burn your mouth off, you never quite know what you're going to get from a new place and how their spice levels are. We also ordered some of their Asian wings, and those were super tasty as well, I would say they actually were a little bit spicier than the medium pad Thai . Overall, we were super satisfied and excited to have another good Asian food option to order takeout from that is nearby on the North Shore :). We did not dine in so I don't have anything to say about the ambience as my husband picked the food up, but it seems like a pretty bare-bones restaurant and I'm not sure if they even do dine in. read more

The food was excellent. I ordered veggie pho, veggie egg rolls, and crab Rangoon to go. The crab Rangoon was homemade and it may be some of the best I've ever had. The reason for 3 stars is because it was impossibly slow. There were three people in the restaurant so it was not busy. My food took almost half an hour. I reached a point where I told one of the employees that I would just take whatever food was ready because I was going to be late picking up my son. My food arrived about a minute later. read more

Very clean, refreshing decor with no hint of the old Pho place that used to be here before (with the hand painted mural walls). The owners are Thai Chinese wife and Vietnamese husband, hence the multi-national menu. SUGGESTIONS: - they take your order at the counter in the back, and then bring the food out to you and provide service. It's confusing because I thought since we're ordering at the counter, it would be self service. But except for the ordering part, nothing was self service. I don't like to tip before the meal on principle, so had to go to the car to grab some cash to leave on the table after the meal. -Please let us select 2 or 3 meats for the pho. My own customized cuts make me so much happier. SERVICE: Super awesomely friendly service. On the dot. FOOD: we just had the pho. The menu boats 24 hour brewed. I'm not sure about that, but it was good. I could taste genuine broth, but I could also feel the MSG (that allergic reaction I have...). Of course that made it taste all the much better. A meh experience leaving me full but not satisfied. Mint is located in a small strip mall off Mequon road, illuminated by neon lettering and a bowl of Pho. Inside, it is clean and, in a way, clinical. At 12:30pm on a Sunday, only a handful of customers were inside. One family eating lunch, another couple waiting for take out. The instructions at the door were impersonal: Choose a table, then go to the register to order. Fine. Except that it took a moment for staff to appear. We ordered chicken satay, pho with vegetables, and port-and-shrimp bun. Service was a tad slow. When the satay arrived first, the staff placed it at the opposite end of the table from us. This was not an isolated instance, as he repeated this for the pho and bun. Odd. The satay was cooked well, but was under seasoned. The medium order of bun was sizable for two people, except that it was mostly noodles. The price difference between the pork bun and pork-and-shrimp bun was $4. The latter option only included four shrimp. So, each shrimp was a $1...great value... The pho was similar: Lots of noodles, little else. The taste of both noodle dishes was ok. I found myself repeatedly adding fish sauce and sriracha. Overall, the restaurant is fine. I didn't feel satisfied with my choices, and everything seemed over-priced for what you get. Not something to make a trek for, but a good option if you can't find another Asian restaurant on Mequon. The staff wasn't very helpful or that friendly. Just business. On a Tuesday evening we decided to give this place a try after browsing through yelp and saw the good reviews. Here's how my experience went: Upon entering the restaurant, we essentially sat ourselves because they don't really have waitress that would seat the guest. Also one thing to note is they don't take your orders, they'll bring you the menu but you will need to go order at the front desk. That was a bit different but acceptable. Is this a to go order or sit down restaurant? Good question to think about. Upon reviewing the menu, dish are higher priced than what you would expect at a Vietnamese/thai restaurant, possibly because of the location but do expect to pay more than what you would compared to other restaurants. We decided on 3 dishes. Chicken Pad Thai Overall: Very tasty dish, great flavors, I think this to me is second to Ape Thais version. Don't get me wrong, it's a delicious dish and had all the essential flavors that is needed to create a beautiful and delicious pad Thai dish. A must get! Recommendations: A tad bit more tamarind sauce or pad Thai sauce, it slightly missing that sour sweetness. Massaman Chicken Curry Overall: Great curry flavors, love the use of potatoes. Nice aroma and paired very well with a side of fresh Jasmine rice. The basil and onions also went well with the dish. Recommendation: For the price of this dish, I would expect the use of another veggie such as bamboo shoots, mushroom, baby corn etc. giving this dish another texture. I think this would have made the dish perfect. Also one thing that can also be changed is the way the onion is cut, long ways which at times was hard to eat. Suggesting dice or smaller pieces. The rice can also be served in a small bowl and not plate. Little changes. Overall a great dish with minor improvements. Banh mi bbq pork and Vietnamese ham Overall: The sand which was near perfect, I couldn't find anything wrong. The flavors were all there, the use of veggies and meats all worked very well together. The bread was okay probably could be a bit more fluffy but it worked just fine. Overall this is ranked as my #2 banh mi in wisconsin. Great sandwhich. Overall great food. Staff was okay, probably need to spend more time understanding customer service and also be a bit more talkative providing great service is not only the food but the communication and how well guest are treated. This new location is now home to Vietnamese food, I used to go to a pho place, and they seem to switch to a different owner, a different menu, and a refreshed interior that brightens up the restaurant. The service is fast and attentive, I like them to come to check on us and see if we need anything. I tried the green curry, pho, and sandwich, and found the green curry to be the standout dish. STAY AWAY!!! So I went there for lunch today and was very disappointed. The guy sitting at the front was completely clueless. This is kind of a self service place because you seat yourself and you grab your own menu and you pay at the front...yet they still has for 17% tip or more as you pay first. They don't really have a lunch special other than the orange chicken dish and the rest of regular dinner size portions it seems that come with a about a $20 price tag. No real lunch specials here. Then after we paid, the guy who took our order brought out two plates of rice. After he brought out the red curry dish and left it on the table without even giving us a spoon to take it out. Because he left two plates of rice next to me and my father, we felt that was the rice was the curry dish. So I used the curry to put on my rice. Any my father was going to do the same thing. Then when he brought out the orange chicken dish we ordered, he took back the rice that he gave to my dad. He didn't say anything just took it back after it was sitting on our table for 10 minutes! We were like we need the rice because I used the first place of rice for the pad thai. The guy said well the orange chicken comes with rice so I took this other one back. We were like well had we known, I would not have used the rice dish he gave me to use for my pad thai if I had to share the rice. Then this foolish kid who is taking the order and is completely clueless asks me if I want to pay for the rice (the same one he had put on our table)! What a complete idiot he is. We told him to bring back the rice and he said he threw it out! Can you imagine how foolish this person is to take away food given and not even say anything, then throw it away and then try to charge us. I tried to explain things to him but he didn't get it. I asked for a manager which he said was not there and someone might call me the next day. I was like forget it, I want the world to know to STAY AWAY from this place. If the management is this clueless to have a kid like this watching the restaurant, then they have no idea how to run a restaurant. STAY AWAY!!!!! Oh and their orange chicken sucks...they give you 5 big pieces of chicken with sauce...it's definitely not the orange chicken you normally get at a restaurant. STAY AWAY! My response to the business owners response: First they ask for tip upon paying and you pay first before they make any food. So nobody goes back up to the register to tip. And do you see how he doesn't even apologize for his working taking away food he gave us, not even saying anything and throwing it away!!! No apology at all. He doesn't say let me make it up to you or anything. This shows he cannot and will not take responsibility for what that kid did. He brought out a whole dish with no way to serve it!!! Clueless. This place is the most authentic Thai/'Asian' restaurant in the Milwaukee area. I came from Chicago, so my wife and I know diverse and seasoned foods. We've been here a handful of times, and we're blown away by how good it is every time. Pho broth alone is worth it. The appetizers are all great and priced accordingly. Regarding the entrees, we haven't had a bad meal ever. The one-star review: kitchens have off days, and it's a small family-owned business (I'm not sure if the reviewer had an attitude or not, but most small food businesses won't give refunds in our experience). The in-house specials are superb. The in-house Thai tea is ridiculously good. The desserts are good; the Ube Cheesecake is phenomenal. The only thing that tends to stink is the wait time. Unless you have small kids or are super super hungry, it is worth it. It's a small family-owned restaurant; everyone is so nice and friendly, but they need more help. I've visited Mint Asian many times now and have enjoyed it each time. Everything I've ordered has been pretty flavorful and delicious. I tried the pad Thai today and there was a lot of flavor. I wasn't sure if it would be good because this is a Vietnamese place, but the pad Thai was actually amazing, and comparable to Appe Thai. Next time I will order with extra noodles because I just love lots of noodles. The decor is very nice and modern. You order at the registers and they'll bring the food out, so not like a traditional sit down place where they come to the table to take your order. Great place to replace Mequon Noodles. read more

This is the best Thai restaurant in all of Milwaukee. I have been coming here since it opened and I love everything I have eaten here.
