First time here AND first time have pho! That said, I wasn't sure what to expect. But I was pleased with the staff being informative and serving me something yummy! I got chicken spring rolls and chicken pho. Spring rolls tasted fresh and the sauce it came with made it 10x better. The pho was a big serving with plenty of garnish's on the side to add. I really enjoy bamboo bistro! My absolute favorite thing from the restaurant that I've gone to some times just for it, is the TOM KHA - it's SOOOOO good! I recently tried the Red Curry and honestly, it may be my new favorite. I've never eaten at the restaurant before, always do take out when with friends so I can't speak much on the ambiance. The services when picking up food is efficient but not super welcoming. Which I don't mind since I'm usually only there for a few minutes. Overall, I really recommend this place!! My BF and I came to Bamboo Bistro on the 4th of July weekend. The former Pizza Hut is charming and well repurposed, with a comfortable vibe. Service was extremely polite and quick. We started with the Basil Tofu which was superb - perfectly light and crispy on the outside and perfectly fluffy on the interior with great flavor. It ranks among the best fried tofu I've had anywhere. I tried Pad Thai, which is good barometer dish for me. It was excellent and there was enough food for two meals. What a delightful little spot right in my own backyard! My friend and I had lunch here today because we were craving something from the Asian palate. This was our first time at the Bamboo Bistro. We chose it because so many of my neighbors had told me this unassuming little spot was wonderful. We decided to give it a try and were NOT disappointed. It's clean and the service was wonderful. It's a quiet little spot sitting back off the road near Walgreens on the main road leading to downtown Grafton. Now, that's not saying too much because if you blink, you miss downtown Grafton! I'd lived here almost a year and didn't know where downtown was located. Needless to say, stop blinking and get over to this wonderful eatery! It's Thai food done well. Nothing too fancy but good food. The portions are right and it's prepared well. The food was fresh and tasty and served correctly. The hot food was hot the cold food was cold. The server was friendly. The place was clean. I had absolutely nothing to say but, "thank you and can I take the rest of this wonderful meal home with me?" I've been eating at home because of a special diet that requires me to eat 80% of each meal in veggies. The meal here easily met that requirement and the veggies tasted fresh. They were well prepared and very enjoyable. That's rare! Usually, when you ask for lots of veggies they are overcooked or weirdly prepared. This meal was seasoned well and a nice change alternative to cooking at home or being stuck with junk food like burgers and fries. We ate the spring rolls so fast that we forgot take pictures. They were divine and HUGE! We enjoyed the crab rangoon because they were NOT as huge as our heads and over-fried. They were nice little bites. Just enough to share between the two of us before our main meal. We both ordered noodles with proteins and veggies. I got chicken and my friend got beef. Neither of us could finish so we had take homes! We will definitely go back. Next time, we'll probably stick to the spring rolls. We now know we're both light weights at this restaurant! Perhaps, a better idea, is to take a whole bunch of friends next time to help us eat the wonderful food they serve! I love that this restaurant is right here in Grafton. I love ordering food from here. It's been cold and rainy, so I ordered pho to go and wow it hit the spot. The broth was full of flavor, vegetables were fresh. I can't wait to come back here again. First time stopping in here and it was overall, at great experience. The only downside was there wasn't enough staff so while the restaurant wasn't full, there was a 45 minute wait. We chose to go do some shopping and come back later. When we returned, we were able to be seated right away. We ordered spring rolls for an appetizer and they were amazing. I had the chicken Pad Thai. I asked for it to be mild and there was no spice/heat. I was hoping for a little something. Otherwise, I enjoyed it. My boyfriend had the Red Curry and loved it. Being a long time Grafton citizen I am always in the market for new restaurants and as a lover of ethnic cuisine, this was high on my list when it popped up. Being the former Pizza Hut they've done a good job of renovating the inside. It's not too hard to identify its roots, but the ambiance is such that it doesn't FEEL like you're in an old pizza hut. Parking is easy, access is easy, all in all it's a very accessible location. The menu has gone through many iterations, and has moved from a non-targeted Asian food idea to anymore specific Thai/Vietnamese type feel. I liked the initial menu, but it has absolutely leveled up now. Pictured is the Thai red curry. It's a favorite of mine wherever I go and this was a very solid dish. The other diners had Thai Basil delight and the Bamboo Bistro stir fry. Everyone tried everyone else's but due to loving our selections we decided to limit the amount allowed for each person to sample! This brings me to portion sizes. Very generous, enough for a retread the next day provided you can resist not eating them later that night! Our service was really excellent as well. It was not busy but our server was very responsive, quick to get drinks, food and was not pushy at all. To put a proverbial cherry on top the service sundae the manager asked about our dinner, brought to go containers and even volunteered drink cups for the rest of our drinks. I was so excited to hear that there was a Thai/Lao restaurant in Ozaukee county and Bamboo Bistro did not disappoint. The food is delicious and super authentic, similar to what my Laotian mom cooked for the family while growing up. I've ordered pad Thai to go on our first visit and it was exactly what I've been looking for! Our 2nd visit we dined in. We ordered the shrimp spring rolls, my sons ordered the beef Pad Udon and kids beef pho. This place got new owners at the beginning of 2023. We tried it once in 2022, we liked it, and decided to come back after the new owners had some time to get things in order. OVerall....we were disappointed! We got plenty of different things to share - crab rangoons, tom yum soup, tom kha soup, satay spring rolls, pad see ew, and red curry. Almost every dish was a bit lacking in flavor. The crab rangoons were fine, but the dipping sauce was literally water? The soup was just ok, seemed watered down. The spring rolls barely had any chicken in them, and the peanut sauce was watery. The pad see ew noodles were a bit overcooked. The flavor was just ok, but again the sauce was very watery. Hubs said the curry was also watery and lacking in that punch that thai food normally has. Can you see a theme? Everything was so watery, it was really weird! We probably won't be back here again, which is super disappointing since it could have been a frequent place for us had the food been better. read more

I stopped here for a late lunch after hearing they had good food. Grafton certainly does not have a very large selection of ethnic restaurants and I was happy to hear of this new restaurant. We were the only customers in the restaurant almost the entirety of the visit. It was certainly a relaxing atmosphere, with soft music playing and calming decor. I ordered the Pad Thai - a rice noodle dish with egg, bean sprouts, green onions, and crushed peanuts in a tamarind sauce. It was made-to-order and fresh! The sauce was amazing, it had great flavor and was not spicy. Chili pepper was available at the table to add to food to make it spicier than prepared. The server was polite and attentive. He ensured my water glass was never empty (I was somewhat dehydrated from working outside that day and was drinking A LOT of water). **Update - Under new ownership** i was really bummed when I found out the other owners sold as I had previously given this restaurant a 5, but if I could give the new place 6 stars I would. **Chef's kiss** it's phenomenal! I can't believe Asian food this great is in my home town! I tried the beef mazeman, chicken pad thai and egg rolls and all were flavorful and just plain old enjoyable to eat. Just the way food should be! I did have them add some heat to the entrees so if you traditionally expect some heat make sure you request it.
