I paid for 1 item on 1 order to get the coupon and I was able to get that 10% coupon emailed and I used it on the rest of my items which was $100+ that I had to pay for. However, based on the cleanliness, selection, and overall customer service, the Rancho Cordova location only earns an average 3-star rating from me. Located at the Zinfandel Plaza and tucked in between Olson Dr/Folsom Blvd in the heart of Rancho Cordova, this particular Marshalls neighbors their main competitor, Ross as well as a Target store amongst many other retailers and eateries. As many of you know, Marshalls specializes in a variety of department store items; mens/womens/kids apparel, home furnishings, bath & body products, luggage, jewelry, purses, bedding, housewares, and quite a bit of food/coffee. I see them as a slightly more affordable option than their sister store TJ Maxx. If your focus is more towards items for the home (excluding clothing), HomeGoods has much of the same items (but in a much larger variety) while all being part of the same ownership. Out of the few times I have been here (which is mainly during the weekends), I've noticed quite an abundance of customers at any given time. However, their store isn't quite the cleanest as I've seen several articles of clothing on the floor, fitting rooms that look messy, and as much as this pains me to say this, lack of customer service. Retail brick-and-mortar stores like this don't staff a lot of employees which leads to more complaints about a business than actual compliments. Finally, for the majority of their merchandise being new "name-brand" items, there is only a small handful of brands I am familiar with; mostly Calvin Klein, Nike, Ralph Lauren, and Michael Kors. As of 2025, you can get a complete outfit for under $50 which is a nice shirt/sweater, pants/shorts, flip flops/shoes as well as a pack of tees and socks. I am very happy with their towels, bedding, and bathroom items as their quality holds up quite well. All in all, "Marshalls" is a decent place to save a few bucks but nothing special. Therefore, I am rating their (one and only) Rancho Cordova an average 3-stars.

It's located behind the Target Shopping Center off of Zinfandel. So conveniently located off the freeway which is so good for people on the go. They are located in a strip mall, with lots of parking. It's a private lot for the entire strip mall. We got a space right up front which was nice. I was wearing heels and I didn't want to walk farther than I needed to. Soon as we walked in we were greeted by a sales associate. We asked where the yarn and needles were and she gave us the isle numbers and pointed us in the right direction. We quickly found the yarn section and there were so many variety. We picked some brown variegated, a small skein. It was the cheapest variety that they sold. We were tying a quilt so didn't need any of the fancy stuff and boy did they sell fancy. All different materials and weights and sizes of skeins. Next we looked for needles and they were exactly at the isle the sales associate told us it would be. We first saw only one variety, the ones for generic sewing. Then we kept looking and found the curved ones for quilting and the straight ones with the big eyes for quilting. We bought a pack of both just to make sure we had the right ones. I didn't want to get one and wish I had gotten the other and then have to trek back. We don't have a Michael's where I live so it would have been a trek. We ended up using the curved ones. I've never used them before and they were magical. So much easier then the straight ones. They did the work for you. Check out was smooth. We were second in line and the guy in front of us was quick. The price was pricy and we didn't use a coupon. I didn't think till now to google their 40% off one item coupon that they always have. Oh well we got what we needed and the project was a success.

Folks were parking on the side streets. That's when I figured if the lot was this crowded, I dare not go inside. I trucked on over to Rancho Cordova. It was not nearly as crowded as Folsom. But the customer service was off in the strangely irritating way. It started with the man standing at the membership scan machine. I didn't pay attention to notice if the card was scanned, so I went to do it again. He ejected his hand inches from my face and shouted Good. No he didn't, but yes he did. Then the woman folding clothes came next to me to refold clothes. Like right next to me. Elbow to elbow. Odd. Then an another staff person came charging at me with a pallet cart. And stopped in a screeching halt less than a foot away from me. Ugh. The redeeming customer service came from the cashier. She salvaged my experience to bump up the overall rating to 3. Anyways this Costco has the similar items as others. It has a gas station, optical center, pharmacy, tire center, heating aid center,, and food court. Staff is always helpful. Parking is probably the biggest challenge to no fault of B&N. Books are at msrp unless you pay for the b&n annual club membership which can save you a discount if you buy enough books here to offset. People will always ask why not just get it on amazon for cheaper but I still like to go and support these bookstores and find stories and books vs look online..maybe it's the old fashion treasure hunting and flipping through book summaries and covers that we find intriguing ...to past time by...but it's something I enjoy doing with my sons and that in itself as rare as it is...is worth it to me!
