I will say that "Marshalls" has been my go-to store for the past 10+ years as I have always found some decent items at their vast number of locations. However, based on the cleanliness, selection, and overall customer service, the Rancho Cordova location only earns an average 3-star rating from me. Located at the Zinfandel Plaza and tucked in between Olson Dr/Folsom Blvd in the heart of Rancho Cordova, this particular Marshalls neighbors their main competitor, Ross as well as a Target store amongst many other retailers and eateries. As many of you know, Marshalls specializes in a variety of department store items; mens/womens/kids apparel, home furnishings, bath & body products, luggage, jewelry, purses, bedding, housewares, and quite a bit of food/coffee. I see them as a slightly more affordable option than their sister store TJ Maxx. If your focus is more towards items for the home (excluding clothing), HomeGoods has much of the same items (but in a much larger variety) while all being part of the same ownership. Out of the few times I have been here (which is mainly during the weekends), I've noticed quite an abundance of customers at any given time. However, their store isn't quite the cleanest as I've seen several articles of clothing on the floor, fitting rooms that look messy, and as much as this pains me to say this, lack of customer service. Retail brick-and-mortar stores like this don't staff a lot of employees which leads to more complaints about a business than actual compliments. Finally, for the majority of their merchandise being new "name-brand" items, there is only a small handful of brands I am familiar with; mostly Calvin Klein, Nike, Ralph Lauren, and Michael Kors. As of 2025, you can get a complete outfit for under $50 which is a nice shirt/sweater, pants/shorts, flip flops/shoes as well as a pack of tees and socks. I am very happy with their towels, bedding, and bathroom items as their quality holds up quite well. All in all, "Marshalls" is a decent place to save a few bucks but nothing special. Therefore, I am rating their (one and only) Rancho Cordova an average 3-stars. read more

Store is a mess. Long wait time. Understaffed in cashier department. Cashiers are very slow and in no rush, worsening the wait time and making this experience suck. Gedi was our cashier finally after taking almost 15 min chatting with people, likely her friends, as the line is building and customers are getting frustrated. 6.24.23 - Wow! This store is bright, fully supplied & attractive layout inside. It's clean, I feel its much bigger than Ross next door. I wish I took a pic of how the store looks on the inside but I wasn't expecting much prior to walking in, plus I wasn't even aware there was Marshall's here, just right next door from Ross. I can definitely recommend that customers should shop here instead. I was just looking for face wash, truthfully. I use specific korean brands and was shocked they actually had some on the shelf. Marshalls is usually pretty good. But it seems like the merchandise they carry keeps getting worse! I have been less and less interested in shopping in Marshalls recently! This Marshalls in Rancho Cordova is next to Ross in the Target shopping center. I'm here a few times when I'm in the area. Marshalls are supposed to have a wide selection of clothing and household items at a higher discounted price. But it appears their clothing section is not intended to carry the better labels as a few years ago! The quality of clothing they have is no good anymore. The household items are still pretty good. Of course, not as good as their sister store - The HomeGoods store. But it is still more interesting than the clothes they carry. I would rate this store just a notch above the other store beside it. It's a little more organized than the other store, and the store arrangement is a little more pleasing to the eye. The other store is just painful! If you are looking for items to buy in this store, patience is the key. Like if you were looking for clothes, you must have the patience to scour the racks for an item you would like...and most of all, see if it fits! The price is very reasonable for the items in store. If you have this habit of perusing the store, you might end up with an item you actually don't need, but picked up because it was reasonably priced. The employees here seem to love their work a lot more than the store next door. They are willing to help you out with queries you may have, or an item you were hunting for. They are quite knowledgeable with the products and their location in the store. The check-out operators are more than friendly. And they give out smiles very easily. Unsure of who worked December 24 , 2025 , front door but she didn't give the vibe that she normally works the front , came in around 6:01 I was told that the store was close witch is beyond fine , as I leave the store a coworker said sorry referring to what she said about the store being close , " found that to be good customer service, as I'm half way out the door the lady said " I don't feel sorry actually " at this point I'm already out the door so I found that to be beyond rude and uncalled for , I walked back In and asked for her name , of course she didn't want to give it to me cause she knows what she said was rude. I feel as if she was a hire up but Marshall's just lost a loyal customer due to her ignorance. I just love coming to Marshall's! OK here's the truth I usually come here for one Thing and I end up walking out with a bag full of stuff, sometimes it's great stuff too I love orthat I would have been found been holding around through the whole store as I shopped and waited up until the last minute at the register to decide to buy it. If you're shopping for household items comm a baby shower or holiday items this is definitely My Go to place to find unusual unique items . This is an OK location and the lines are very long but that is expected during this time of year when people can finally get out of The house and go shopping. They only have two registers open for check out which is why the line is going very slow. It would cost make more sense to have my registers open. read more

This location really is the trifecta of shopping.... Ross, Marshalls right next to each other and Target in the same shopping lot! My sister and I thought to get some Christmas shopping out of the way and hit up Marshalls with my little niece so I can find her some toys for Christmas. I prefer Marshalls over Ross just because the store is more organized and doesn't look like my closet exploded! I like shopping at Ross too, but really need to be in the mindset of rummaging and digging for stuff. At Marshalls, you don't have to worry about that. Everything is in sections which really helps! This shopping trip I found a few My first Christmas outfits for my nephew, super cute! These are really hard to find if you don't get them right after Thanksgiving. Every baby needs a My first Christmas outfit for pictures! My sweet little Santa's helper picked out a few gifts she wanted for Christmas. Being 4, she is quite a character! Love her to pieces!!! I had the weirdest experience today at this Marshall's. I came in to return a pair of Cole Haan tennis shoes that I had recently purchased. When I went to the cashier and handed her the box she asked for the receipt and I pulled it from my wallet. She asked me if this was the price tag that was on the shoes when I bought them. I was confused, yes of course it's the price tag. She went over and started whispering with a woman behind the counter. They came back together and said "you'll need to return these to the Folsom store". I told them I had no intention of driving to the Folsom store and I wanted my refund. I'm standing there with the shoes with price tags on them and receipt in hand and they refused to refund me. Kept saying these aren't in our system you need to go to Folsom. It was so outrageous and almost antagonistic. I shop at Marshall's all the time, but this exchange was so negative and bizarre that I won't be back for a LONG TIME. Rotten service. Good location and this location is very clean and organized. The aisles are very organized and there is nothing on the floor.... They have a nice variety of name brand clothing and I love Nike and they actually had a nice collection of Nike gear.... Mostly t shirts and long sleeve t shirts. Then when I went into the store the next day the acting manager still refused to give me her name. Called about a viral TikTok item, the girls were rude and irritated because I called to ask about it. If you don't like your job, get a new one. News flash Marshall's employees you work at a department store open to the public, people WILL call and ask about inventory ALOT and it's actually a part of your job to assist them and Just because you are miserable, over worked and under payed that doesn't give you the right to be rude to people and hang up on them. After going to Ross, I came here since it's my favorite store. Very nicely lit and good selection of everything. I got a toy tree branch for my puppy, some socks and a wallet and cute Steve Madden purple bag all for 55 bucks. In a nice big shopping plaza with a Target included. Very fast check out lines, and great customer service. I will for sure come again when staying in the area for business. Way nicer than most locations. read more

I went to this location 2 days in a row... I went with my boyfriend for both times and on the first day as we checked out two employees were pointing at us as if they were talking about us which was uncomfortable. we went back the next dah and purchased more items and one of the employees that was pointing the previous day was checking us out and as me and my boyfriend walked up to the register she said you don't come up here unless i call you over here and i didn't call you .. i proceeded to grab my stuff and i was going to go back in like until she said to put in on the other side. she didn't give me any time of hello or how are u just straight silence when she finished checking us out she handed me the receipt and i told her she could have better customer service and she said ok with a mug and attitude i asked for her name and her name is LILIAN she is a terrible with customer service and i will not be returning because of her stank ass attitude. read more

This Marshall's is NOT closed. (It is marked that way as of today.) I was just there. It is a somewhat busy store in the Target shopping area off Olsen in Rancho Cordova next to the Ross. Their selection for beauty and fragrances is vast and their home section had terrific finds. It is clean and bright. New merchandise is always being put out every time I go to take a peek. Well this is one of the must stop store when i am in the area. Also this store is inside a nearby plaza with ross, target, Michaels and etc. This is a clean and organized store. I mainly come here to look at the kitchen and mens section. For the kitchen area i like looking at the different cups, mugs, tea pots, and little miscellaneous clearance items. Sometimes i find a great item and It just makes my day. Love the clearance section because the prices are marked down so cheap. Just fyi double check the item first because it is marked down with a reason maybe a little damage to the product. The little damage could be a scratch, ding, or chipped. Mens Section I like looking at the accessories section the most because sometimes they got some cool knickknacks. I know i don't need it but the price is so irresistible sometimes. I like to check on the backpacks, bags, and random stuff. For clothes section i like to check the clearance items and see if they have anything cool or high end products that might have pushed into this store. This time i did spot a north face jackets for 60 bucks which is a great deal because macy or anywhere else don't get any lower than that for a good quality and warm one. Service well the last few times i purchase stuff the sales associates were nice and friendly. They always ask if you found everything ok or if you need any help. Also lines are not too long each time i come here. Their line system is single file system with multiple open cashiers. Overall i have a great experience each time. Literally the worst management at this Marshall's. Every time I need to return an item they make the biggest deal. I got a spread sheet set as a gift and it had the Marshall's sticker on it and I told them I got it as a gift. The girl asked me where they got it from when it clearly has a Marshall's price tag. They said they couldn't find it in their system. I went to Folsom, returned it no questions asked and they gave me cash. I came to return a swimsuit all tags still attached, never worn with a receipt and they wouldn't return it because it didn't have the liner (which it never came with one). When I saw the "COMING SOON" sign for this Marshalls, I was already excited! Finally, I had more choices for shopping instead of Target and Ross! Marshalls still has great prices, but it's about one step up from Ross. It has designer labels, but for much cheaper, and they have an array of things for you to choose from including home, fashion, shoes, and more. I went yesterday, which was their grand opening, so you can imagine that it was a ZOO. The lines were forever long, and the clothes were all over the place. I have to give props to all the workers on the floor, because they tried their best to restock and organize the floor, so it did not look like a disheveled mess! Also, KUDOS to all the cashiers, because no matter how crazy it got, they still managed to have a big smile on their face. Like any Marshalls or branch of Marshalls (TJ Maxx, Home Goods), this place is always a hit or miss. You might find a LOT of things you may like, and there are days when you wonder why you went in the first place. But I think this particular Marshalls has potential because it's close, and gives us Rancho Cordovians more variety of shops. I will definitely come back during a more calmer day, and spend more time browsing. read more

I feel like Marshalls and Ross being next to each other is just a disaster waiting to happen. You would think because they are right next to each other, management would try to spruce up their stores to outdo the other but I have to say, both these stores at this location are horrible! The Marshalls on Olson has a crappy selection. When I walk into the one on Howe or Arden, I'm amazed at their wide selection of designer shoes and purses. There's always something there that I find and like. But, this location? Their selection of shoes are SO outdated and ugly! I mean, seriously, who wears stuff like that? Their selection of household and kitchen items are a little better but still, nothing to go over the top for. Their bedding selection leaves something to be desired and their clothes? Well, it's better than Ross and you may be able to occasionally find something you can pull off wearing but the selection is nowhere near good. Walked in at 9:23pm on 1/17/2015. As soon as I walked in, I was told by an associate: "Ummmm, we close in like 2 minutes." I said, "oh you do?" And he looked at the time and then said "Well, close to it." I had every intention to walk in and spend well over $300 that evening. So I walked out and walked right into ROSS where I spent $286.44. Ok, so I was a bit skeptical coming into a Marshalls. Sure, that sounds snooty, but I'm snooty when it comes to digging through racks and bins for deals - not my scene. But hey, this was recently opened store, so I knew that everything would be organized, new and the deals wouldn't be hard to find. I was happy to see that my assumptions were affirmed when I walked through the doors. I understand that a lot of people don't like to go to these types of stores because you have to search through a bunch of crap before finding your gem, but DIG BABY DIG! What my strategy consisted of was to feel the fabric. If a shirt felt like a Forever 21 cheap-o thin textile, I moved on. If there was substance, there was quality and I headed to the fitting room. Only 1 star off for the service. The staff here is truly dizzy and cares more about customer drama happening on a register then actually checking me out in a timely fashion. The styles and items carried here looked like it hasn't sold for a couple decades and have been stocked since the 80s. C'mon, at least rotate the items with the other stores, I don't want freakin' leg warmers and waist high jeans.
