Spencer's I have visited them from coast to coast in my life and they all have the same stuff which is good. From gimic stuff to themed T-shirts, stickers, novelty gag gifts and even a adult fun area as well. Even if you're a kid at heart or an adult with a chip on your shoulder they will have something for you to wear or show it some other way. You will understand when you see them massive amounts of themed T-shirts. Service has always been helpful grabbing me something from the top areas or even looking online they will help you if you ask inky experiences. Definitely worth looking around. It is a bit tight in the store for moving around in some spots especially when busy. But that doesn't stop us from time to time checking it out. I'm so used to seeing Spencer's in malls that I initially walked past it but a Tshirt caught my eye and I decided to pop in. Overall it's a typical Spencer store, a Tshirt lovers paradise with other fun gadgets. They looked well stocked and the customer service was good. They even had a few racks with Tshits for $5! I ended up buying a shirt for my cousin. I think it's a good addition to the strip mall and hopefully it lasts in this economy. read more

While the merchandise changes, the experience has not. Now that I'm an adult it's nostalgic to stop by and browse the store. They mostly have pop culture items including backpacks, hats, shirts, accessories and mugs/drinkware. You'll also find more novelty items and specialty items in the back that are for adult customers. If you're looking for bachelorette party supplies or gag gifts it's a great stop, you'll find a good variety of items as a good price all in one place. Also by shopping in person you'll know exactly what you're buying and the quality. The front of the store is great for gifts or knick knacks. They often run sales so you can get a good deal if you find something you like. I tend to gravitate towards the mugs, but have only made a purchase a few times because the quality of the items doesn't always seem the best. Keep an eye out for hand wash only items. We got some really cute shot glasses here once, but we learned the hard way that they were not dishwasher safe after the colorful designs melted off after being cleaned. Between Spencers, Hot Topic and BoxLunch, which are all next to one another, you'll be able to find most of your pop culture items. read more

I visited Spencer's today a little before 4pm and had a terrible experience. The employees (2 female, 1 male) were talking loudly and laughing over a recent celebrity death. They pulled up the video of the fatal accident and continued laughing. I was nauseated by their insensitive behavior regarding the loss of a human life and left. read more

That staff are inadequately trained in customer service. The browsing experience was awkward and uncomfortable.

Rude employees. Messy store. The store has soo much stuff it looks like their storage room.

Jewel is an absolute doll and she helped me hide the fact that I was buying a gift for my boyfriend while he was in the store with me. She was so helpful and let me know of a BOGO sale that was going on for the item I was purchasing. I was looking for comic book-themed accessories for an upcoming Con, so my friend and I checked Hot Topic, then walked next door to Spencer's to see what they had in the same category. After walking through Spencer's my friend said "Wow... minus the goth stuff, it's practically the same store." And that pretty much sums it up. Take Hot Topic (pop culture clothing and accessories, graphic tees, jewelry/body jewelry, goth stuff) - goth stuff (what little H.T. has left these days, between Disney and cartoon merch) + shot glasses, party supplies, gag gifts, and a lot of stuff with a marjiuana leaf on it = Spencer's. read more

This used to be a great fun clean organized store. Sometime over the summer it changed. The workers, if you want to call them that, are rude, lazy, poor sales skills and the store is a mess every time Ive been in. I was told that they sacked the experienced staff to hire cheap labor- you certainly get what you pay for. Fortunately, Hot Topic is next door. They recycle staff but, at least, they're friendly and helpful. I'm done with Spencer's. read more

I had terrible experience in Spencer's Arden mall today; originally I went in to buy some cool Tune squad pajamas but there was a young sales guy on the floor that was such a nuisance! I literally couldn't browse anything without him standing within two inches of me or making some corny joke to go along with the items I was looking at. At first he was just annoying and it was no big deal but then he proceeded to ask me if I wanted to buy some weed and dropped the n word twice in my presence ...I'm more annoyed at myself for not immediately getting his manager none the less I won't be returning to that store if those are the type of employees they have. read more

I came in with my girlfriend to buy an adult toy feeling a little anxious. Usually, my interactions are a little hit and miss with people making unnecessary comments or just making me uncomfortable but the guy who rang me up was so sweet and informative. He gave a quick course on what products would ruin the toy, how to clean it and made sure we had everything we needed for it without batting an eye and without seeming like he was reading from a script. I walked away feeling positive and like we had made the right choice and I have no problem going back. read more

Thank you Spencer's for providing amazing costumer service and not discriminating me the way Hot Topic did! I went into Spencer's with a $100 bill to purchase some awesome things, and the guy who made my transaction happen, didn't even look twice at my bill because he looked once to see if it was real and it was real. I had previously gone to Hot Topic to buy some stuff but two white women looked at my bill and told me they didn't trust me, and didn't trust the bill because it had a red line of a marker on top of it, which is ridiculous because money goes around everywhere and sometimes bills come with ink from marker or pencils, I get a $5 with a mark on it at times, and I don't go thinking it's fake because I know money travels everywhere. The women saw me as a Latina and didn't let me pay with the $100. Because of the red mark, and the $100 was real, I work hard for my money and I went into the bank and had pulled out money, so it was real. Thanks to Spencer's though, for not discriminating and making sure I didn't feel like crap in front of people, the way hot topic did. read more
