I work 9-6 so it'd be impossible for me to come but I had a doctor's appointment and made a detour afterwards. I was not disappointed. I came on Wednesday, or $4 day around noon. It was busy but not overwhelming. I am a bargain hunter so digging is not an issue for me although I started with The items on the shelf first. They had tons of snack bag potato chips and hot tamale candies. I thought what a steal for $4 and was surprised there were so many left but then discovered they are expiring within the next month but still a good deal if you're going to be eating them soon. We left with 4 items and that was in the short 30 mins I had to look. There are multiples of many items with random onesies of others. You can see the Amazon labels that have a description so that is helpful but some boxes do not and they ask you not to open them. If you are debating on something, do not put it down. I did this and a lady swooped in and grabbed it. Maybe because I went on day two, it was a relatively clean place. Its not like the Goodwill Outlet where craps is broken, dirty, and stinky. I didn't feel the need to go take a shower afterwards. If you understand what you are getting and not getting, You will have a better experience. You will not be getting customer service. You will have to dig and rummage. You may encounter rude people. You may find something, you may not. For me, it was worth the effort and I am anxious to go back. As a matter of fact, I am going to leave work early today and use a few vacation hours to see what $2 is like!

Adj: a newer GO in a busy part of Sac…read more This is a pretty new store that just opened about a year ago. This Grocery Outlet is on Fulton Ave, at the intersection of Hurley. It used to be a Rite Aid, so it's been vacant for quite awhile and I'm glad they put in a GO here now as I think there's a need for a bigger grocery store in this part of town and this neighborhood especially so locals who don't drive can walk here for fresh food as this is kind of a low income food desert from what I can tell. It's a franchise so it's good that like all other GO's, it's locally owned and operated. Inside, it looks about the same as other GO's, except it's very new still. The layout is per usual, it's got the fresh produce on one end of the store and health/beauty items on another, with pantry items, snacks, drinks, and NOSH (natural organic specialty health, iirc), etc. in the middle of the store. There's a lot going for this store and I found a bunch of good items, but do watch the expiration (best by is not as much a concern to me, usually can stretch about 1-3 months out beyond best by depending on what the item is). In particular, good snack section with a large variety of chips, sweet, granola bars, candies, and the milk section had a good assortment of dairy and non-dairy milk and cheeses. I liked finding pantry items like broths/soups and canned foods like tuna and beans were plentiful which are perfect for quick meals and chilis as the weather cools down. Overall, a good store, clean, bright, wide aisles, organized, and lots of quickly rotating and changing stock, so like other GO's you can check in often to find new items and stock up or at least get enough of any item you like bc it'll probably not be there next time. The GO staff are friendly and helpful, and while they might be busy with shelving and stocking, they're always happy to answer questions and point the direction to what I'm looking for.

I realize stores stock based on the demographics around, there just wasn't a lot of stand out things. Either way I'm glad they're a part of the community.

I will say that "Marshalls" has been my go-to store for the past 10+ years as I have always found…read moresome decent items at their vast number of locations. However, based on the cleanliness, selection, and overall customer service, the Rancho Cordova location only earns an average 3-star rating from me. Located at the Zinfandel Plaza and tucked in between Olson Dr/Folsom Blvd in the heart of Rancho Cordova, this particular Marshalls neighbors their main competitor, Ross as well as a Target store amongst many other retailers and eateries. As many of you know, Marshalls specializes in a variety of department store items; mens/womens/kids apparel, home furnishings, bath & body products, luggage, jewelry, purses, bedding, housewares, and quite a bit of food/coffee. I see them as a slightly more affordable option than their sister store TJ Maxx. If your focus is more towards items for the home (excluding clothing), HomeGoods has much of the same items (but in a much larger variety) while all being part of the same ownership. Out of the few times I have been here (which is mainly during the weekends), I've noticed quite an abundance of customers at any given time. However, their store isn't quite the cleanest as I've seen several articles of clothing on the floor, fitting rooms that look messy, and as much as this pains me to say this, lack of customer service. Retail brick-and-mortar stores like this don't staff a lot of employees which leads to more complaints about a business than actual compliments. Finally, for the majority of their merchandise being new "name-brand" items, there is only a small handful of brands I am familiar with; mostly Calvin Klein, Nike, Ralph Lauren, and Michael Kors. As of 2025, you can get a complete outfit for under $50 which is a nice shirt/sweater, pants/shorts, flip flops/shoes as well as a pack of tees and socks. I am very happy with their towels, bedding, and bathroom items as their quality holds up quite well. All in all, "Marshalls" is a decent place to save a few bucks but nothing special. Therefore, I am rating their (one and only) Rancho Cordova an average 3-stars.

For folks unfamiliar with Daiso, it is the Japanese version of the American $Tree and other like discount shops. Most items sell for $1.75 and nothing more than $5. ALL PURCHASES ARE FINAL. But what sets them apart is that Daiso sells inexpensive Sanrio themed items. Last weekend, it was warm in there. The outside temp was in the 90s. It was so muggy, I needed to cut my trip short. I bought a short handle broom and sweeping pan that snap into each other. As I was checking out, I asked the cashier if something was wrong with the air conditioning. She said it was turned on. She too must be overheated. I hope that they get the AC up and running to cool at a lower temp. The summer heat is upon us.
