This is a small shop that sells fresh banh canh and banh hoi with 4 parking space. I always come for fresh banh canh, but this review is for banh tet. Customer service is always great here. They are always very friendly. This was the first time I got banh tet for Lunar New Year and it didn't disappoint. I got the banh tet man and it was delicious. I love the coconut milk in the rice. There was too much mung bean for me but overall, it was flavorful. Will definitely come back next lunar year.

Banh hoi Minh Phung is my go to spot to get fresh banh hoi. My family has been eating the banh hoi from Minh Phung for a while now and it's our go to banh hoi. The price for the banh hoi is actually cheaper than if you buy it at supermarket or at the bbq place. The price for banh hoi now as of 11/3/25 is $3.50.

Reusable bag offered with multiple banh tet/chung purchase.

I've gone here a few times to pick up traditional foods such as Banh Tet and Banh Chung for the Lunar New Year/Tet. It's a bit of a hole in the wall place, on a rather commercial/industrial street in bustling Little Saigon. Parking is extremely limited here - there are four spots in front of the bakery that is supposed to be for the bakery, but during the days leading up to Tet, this place is nothing less than a zoo getting in and out, and usually people end up grabbing those spots anyway whether or not they are actually shopping at the bakery. In any case, Minh Phung offers a selection of Banh Tet and Banh Chung - the cylinder shaped rice cake, and the square shaped rice cake. The "man" (does not refer to gender) version has mung beans and pork belly as it's filling - while the "chay" version is vegetarian. This bakery also offers the "3 mau" version - which stands for three colors - and is quite aesthetically pleasant. I don't know whether it's traditional, but I do know that the 3 mau version is more tedious to make because it requires three layers of different colors - so it might be better for gift giving. Sadly, since Tet is just a few days away, all their "chay"/vegetarian options were sold out. For Banh Tet/Banh Chung, if you buy enough, they'll give you a nifty reusable shopping bag. Friendly clerk - I was helped by the owner's son. I usually pick up enough to hand to close family/friends - and save one for myself to indulge in. The little bakery offers other traditional food items such as cha bon (dried shredded pork that you can put in rice porridge/congee), dua chua (pickled veggies). They take both cash and card.

Got their Banh Chung and Gio for Tet and they were delicious. The Banh Chung was moist, chewy, and packed with lots of stuffing! Love how they gave us a reusable bag!

Best banh tet with a perfect rice to filling ratio. It was still warm when I bought it! Location is slightly hidden, about a block behind the Asian Garden Mall, with a tiny parking lot of only a few spaces. They take credit card. Staff is friendly and fast!

Pros: -best delicious vietnamese sticky rice for the same price as everywhere else -good friendly service -homey feel -accepts credit cards -small parking lot but 5min only -sells other food items and desserts -nice workers. Can even buy and ask to hold for you for a few hours -beautiful new year sticker designs -has vegetarian options -has rainbow color options -comes with bags to hold food in Cons: -might be a line during rush hours

I love supporting family businesses. The majority of places you come across in Bolsa will be a "mom and pop" shop. However, this place stands out among the countless shops you see around here. Great prices and great quality. I pre order dozens of Banh Tet every year for Tet for my family who don't live in OC. They're located away from Bolsa Ave, so it's not too busy on their street! I buy a lot of things here, but their Fried Onions and Banh Hoi are my favorite!!

With Chinese New Year coming up, I stopped into Minh Phung to order banh tet to give as gifts. They're famous for the delicious traditional rice sticks. The most popular one is the banh tet 3 mau, which has two different flavored rices. I recommend frying the slices. My favorite one is the banh tet chuoi (banana). It's so sweet and delicious! They're super busy this time of year, so order ahead. Aside from those, I also get banh hoi and banh canh here. It's made fresh in house apparently. If you come at the right time, the noodles are all warm. I've seen their product in supermarkets too. The store itself is on an industrial looking street surrounded by auto body shops and businesses. It's also right next to Asian garden mall so it gets pretty packed.

    So delicious!

It really nails that traditional Northern-style flavor profile. Pro tip: make sure to mix in some sa tế, as it completely amplifies the broth and takes it to the next level! Also, I'm so hyped that the Cháo Sườn Quẩy is FINALLY back on the menu! It came out piping hot and is just as comforting as I remember. Food Bánh Mì Pate Que (2) - $5.99 Served as two pieces, this Hải Phòng-style bánh mì came with pate, shredded pork, and a house chili sauce. The bread was nicely toasted and served warm, making it easy to share. Bánh Ướt Đặc Biệt - $14.50 Steamed rice sheets topped with pork patties, fried tofu, and fresh vegetables, served with a house fish sauce. The sauce leaned light and slightly sweet, which may appeal to some but felt a bit mild overall. Bún Chả Hà Nội - $16.50 Rice vermicelli served with grilled pork, pork patties, fresh herbs, and house fish sauce. Similar to the other dish, the sauce was on the lighter side in terms of flavor. The protein portions also felt a bit small for the price. Service My party and I were greeted and seated promptly upon our arrival. A server brought menus and returned shortly after to take our order. However, they did not check-in throughout the dining experience. We arrived about 30 minutes before closing and the food came out quickly. Payment is processed at the register near the back by the kitchen. Ambiance The restaurant is dimly lit with plenty of seating for dine-in. Location It is located in a strip plaza with a shared parking alongside other businesses.

When I would come inside, I would see their other limited time food items, like their brussel sprouts and order that as well. I really enjoyed their brussel sprouts and now sad to see it gone. I joined the Mama Hieus App which makes ordering ahead easier for pickup. I really like the app bc its simple to plan your dinner ahead. You can pick the day and time you want to pick-up. If I could make one request, is if you can give customers (me) the option to pay like extra $1-$2 for their orders to be ONLY FLAT WINGS on small orders. The chicken is so well crispy and coated and the non flat wings are too meaty but then carry less of your delicious seasoning in my opinion. Does that request exist? Over all those years, they have never disappointed me and continue to serve really good food. I usually get the beef brisket pho and it's really good. The noodles are just the right texture, the broth is clean and flavorful, and the meat tastes fresh and tender. Their dui bo is also very good, but usually runs out after 1:00 or 2:00 pm, since they only have a limited amount of this item every day. The meat is fall off the bone tender and has a more fatty flavor to it. It usually sits in some broth that absorbs that beefy and fatty flavor from the bone. A great addition to any bowl of pho. Alternatively, I sometimes also get the bun thit nuong and it's very good. The eggrolls it comes with is wrapped with rice paper, so when it's fried up, it has such a satisfying crunch and texture to it. The thit nuong is has a nice smokey, grilled flavor to it. The shrimps are okay as well. This is a very satisfying and filling dish, so if you're looking for a high volume dish, this may be the one to get. Expect long lines during peak hours. I can confirm though that the wait is worth it! Service is always very good. The ambiance on the inside is fine, very plain and unassuming in my opinion. When I tell you this is the BEST broth I've ever had, it blew me away. I'm not one to usually order extra noodles but for this place I would order as many noodles until I ran out of broth, it is that good. Noodles were on the soggier side, I'm not picky about noodles but if you are then this is something to consider. Portions were huge for the price, very happy with that. CASH ONLY. I didn't see an ATM there but I'm sure they had one. Will always recommend and they have a new customer for whenever I'm in OC.

We started with the Vietnamese coffee ($7), which was bold, strong, and nicely balanced with the sweetness from the condensed milk. A great way to kick things off. The egg rolls ($10) were packed with beef, shrimp, wood ear mushroom, and vermicelli--crispy on the outside and paired perfectly with fresh lettuce and fish sauce. The standout for me was the flaming wagyu ($18), torched tableside. For how thick the cut was, it was incredibly tender and soft. Definitely go medium rare. The ponzu dipping sauce really enhances the richness of the beef. We also tried the shaken beef ($21), which came with plenty of caramelized onions and bell peppers that added a subtle sweetness. The beef was slightly charred, bite-sized, and super satisfying--especially with rice. The combo pho ($25) came loaded with a variety of meats, all tender and melt-in-your-mouth. The broth had a deep, beefy richness, and the noodles were perfectly soft. Add in the garnishes for some crunch and it really ties everything together.
