Always love Minellas! We go there mostly late nite and usually get breakfast. Haven't been disappointed yet.

We've been coming here for years. Always dependable, great food in huge portions, friendly staff most of whom have been there for decades. Fast service and always busy, but you'll almost always be seated immediately. Everything from eggs benedict to steaks and chops 24 hrs a day. Hands down the best diner in or out of Philly. They certainly are not inexpensive but worth every penny. Do not miss the Greek food. read more

Way way overrated! These people are getting business off of the old Minella's name - not the food. When it used to be Minella's it was great. Another reason is that there are not many choices nearby for a diner. For breakfast I would rather go to McDonald's. Eggs are blah and the pancakes are worse. Minella's Mainline Diner is a great college-student destination. Being a student in the area, it's great to have a good diner that can visited at any hour. There is a huge menu of foods, from breakfast all day to hot dinners. I'd say the food is about a 9/10, and the atmosphere and good service also add to this. I've never seen people moved through a restaurant faster. There can be a long line, but the wait is never long. Great diner for all ages, and decent prices. 1 for location A second for clean. A third for coffee. The waiter botched the order. Roasted pepper, goat cheese and bacon. I asked for the omelette soft ! It was cooked hard ! Only got peppers and cheese ! No bacon ! Of course when I said the omelette didn't have bacon, he said, you wanted bacon ? He offered to get me bacon. I said that's not how I wanted it. Forget it. When the bill arrived I was charged full price. I wrote my displeasure on the bill and my email address as well. Never heard from them ! My first and last visit for sure. Fat customers.... Minella's is an ordinary diner with uneven food and service. Sometimes, the service is friendly, efficient, and the food is quite acceptable; but this doesn't happen often. Too often, the service is indifferent or worse (especially by the guy manning the cash register in the evenings), and the food is... uninspiring or bad! The last time we went, we thought we would try something different, and the waitress suggested we try their Greek specialties, since the owners and cooks were Greek; made sense, right? Well, the Greek dishes were all drowned in feta cheese and olive oil and vinegar, for a monolithic, greasy tasting experience. The good thing about Minella is that it is convenient for those living in Wayne, PA. It is open 24 hours and has a large parking lot. If you need to go, make sure you order something very simple that is hard to mess up... you know, like, say, scrambled eggs and toast and home fries, or maybe a simple hamburger. And be prepared to not take offense at indifferent service, because it will only lead you to getting AH-JI-DA. read more

Good atmosphere, good owners, good servers but the food itself has potential to be better. My main constructive criticism would be for Minella's to improve the food taste. We have tried Minella's a few times for breakfast and found the food to be bland. There is a faint taste of a cleaning product or bad water. I know diners are not the best places to go eat but it is still a restaurant and you should be able to eat without getting very sick! That was not the case for me! I had a buffalo chicken cheese steak with fries, it was very runny, bland and made me very ill. I would watch what you get here. read more

Usually enjoy our meals at Minella's, but last night was different. We wanted to order light, so I had an American grilled cheese with bacon. Although the menu listed the price as $7.00, I was charged $10.25. The sandwich was really toasted bread with semi-melted cheese (not even a smidgen of butter on the bread) but did have plenty of bacon. My dinner partner had a Reuben sandwich, but was served just corned beef on rye. Again, the price listed on the menu was $9.95, and he was charged $10.50. We ordered a side of fries and a side of onion rings to share. The service was fine, a long wait for refills on water/coffee but okay. I still cannot believe I paid $10 for an almost grilled cheese. We felt like we did not receive $39.00 worth of food. It'll be a long time before we return. Sad to post a negative post, but this time it was earned. read more

The place is beyond clueless and insensitive. The food: *TERRIBLE.* the service: *TERRIBLE." We called in advance that we were coming with our disabled son -"no problem, we have a ton of open tables." We ordered.... WE all ordered some basic eggs done medium. Wait, and we were SOOOO hungry and SOOOO looking forward to having special meal with our son who we only get to see once a month or less. EGGS: They arrived RAW. Asked for a correction. They came back, oh, STILL RAW. Asked for a 2nd correction, and the line cook takes vengeance and sends them back charred. Complain to waiter... He could care less whether we were happy. Smugly throws his cooks under the bus saying they don't know how to cook. He doesn't take the eggs back this time or even ask if we'd like anything else instead. Remember, we're hungry, but what we got, we can't eat. Next: Need more milk for said disabled son - oh, woa is me to think they might comp us the 8oz cup pf milk at this point. Oh, no. When the bill comes, and they charge us for: 1) some sausages we ordered, waited for, but never received, 2) the eggs they couldn't get right after 3 times and still couldn't eat on the 3rd try because they were so shoe-sole hard 3) the measly milk refill The place is beyond clueless and insensitive. Driving by looking to try out a decent diner, my boyfriend and I saw a PACKED parking lot at Minella's & thought it must be good. It was so packed and loud inside and we got seated in a tiny corner area where they had about 1 1/2 feet of space in between the table. Of course we got seated next to 4 obnoxious teenage girls, which isn't anyone's fault but that little corner of two tables should not exist. Prices are a little above average for the meals, $20 for his shrimp Alfredo & $9 for my monte cristo. His meal was a sad oily & garlic attempt at an alfredo sauce with very little shrimp for the price. My sandwich was as is, just the sandwich but for some reason it was open faced. Never saw a monte cristo like that but to each their own. It was basically two slices of overly sweet French toast with a load of ham, extremely dry turkey and cheese melted on top. Never seen or tasted a monte cristo like that, I had to leave the French toast alone and attempt to eat the dry meats on top. When ordering I saw that you could sub all sandwich fries for sweet potato fries for an additional $1.50. I said "can I sub sweet potato fries instead?" And our waitress said "sure thing!". When we got the check I saw that I was charged $7.50 for a side of fries & asked the cashier why when the waitress said I could substitute it & I missed the tiny print that said "Complete" next to my one particular sandwich. I looked at the sides on the menu and regular French fries were $3.00 & nowhere on the menu (cashier couldn't find it and was rushing because they were busy) were there sweet potato fries yet alone a price for them. He still said I must pay for the sweet potato fries at full price even though he couldn't find that price in the menu... idk a bit sketchy to me. I didn't want to argue so I left it at that. Also, our waitress never even came to check on us for the 45 minutes we were there. I asked her for straws twice, never received them & didn't see her until she brought over our bill. read more

I took him to Minella's diner which I used go when I don't want to cook but don't know what I really want to eat. The waitress and a second person (no idea who that was) actually told my (polite) teen they could not be bothered to make anything safe to eat for a nut allergy. They scoffed at her. They acted like she commanded them to go through heroics to use a clean utensil. They were SO, SOOO RUDE. Tip to Minella's staff - most restaurants can get something (pasta, toast) on a plate so kids don't go hungry. Most staff are courteous. There's no call to insult anyone. Do they kick people with obvious handicaps out too? BTW, the food sucks. It's really bland and cardboardy. read more

Good food, but don't accept offers for fries. They're four dollars and not included with your meal. (And definitely not worth it.) Waitress casually asked me and my friend "fries?" with our sandwich in an offhand way like "are fries okay or should I substitute something else?" and next thing we know we owe 8 dollars for fries we didn't even really want. Best diner on the Main Line. I've only been here for breakfast or for a middle of the night outing. The wait staff deserves credit for putting up with all of the college kids on the weekends. The prices are reasonable, the menu is huge and there are a lot of choices, but like most diners, breakfast is the stand-out option here. Luckily, it is available 24/7. Too many favorites here...chicken pot pie, Greek sampler, truffle fries(warning, you will be addicted), turkey club, hot pastrami on rye (could rival katz) veal marsala, salmon on caesar salad and last but not definitely not least red velvet pancakes, YES RED VELVET!! On recommendation of a college student we met up here. Lobster ravoli, alcohol drinks is what I had. Both are something that upon pulling up in front of what is clearly a diner is not what I would expect. The menu is enormous and I don't know how they manage to make everything delicious but they do. Always packed it seems and the host and servers rush you in and out with barely any communication but despite that the product they serve up is good. I've never had a bad meal here and for that reason I keep going back whenever I'm in the area. I have never had a bad meal here! I go at least once a month. The Manhattan clam chowder is out of this world. Nice sized portions and all the food tastes fresh and well prepared. I like the cool bright atmosphere of Minella's, but it's no better than Llanerch, and sometimes I prefer that grungier atmosphere. I have friends who genuinely enjoy the menu, but I think it's generally just average diner fare. Sometimes you do just want a diner though, and for local suburbanites this won't disappoint in that department. read more

I have been coming to Minella's since the late 1990's. Typical diner food, open 24-7 which is convenient. Minella's is generally as packed as it is because there really is no other diner in the area. I come to Minella's almost every Saturday with my Grandmother. I always deal with the same host who always seems to have an attitude. Today was the last straw. My Grandmother turned 100 so I took her to lunch at her favorite place, Minella's. We were excited and told the host it was her 100th when we came in. We also mentioned it to our waitress. Nothing! No one ever bothered to congratulate her. In the past, wait staff has acted put out when she asked for a refill on her coffee or some more water. I've tolerated it because it is quick, convenient and consistent but after today I will never go back! Go if you must but if you're looking for a neighborhood diner where people will take the time to get to know their loyal customers, you'll probably have better luck at an IHOP. read more

I ate here years ago and my impression was not good... but my last two meals here have exceeded my expectations. It's the perfect diner experience, the omelettes were delicious, service was great, nice to my two little kids and food was fresh, hot and generous. I give the late hours a lot of credit. I was staying at The Radnor near Minella's and stumbled on it by accident- yum! I think I ate there every night of my vacation. They have a variety of sandwiches, cheese steaks, wraps, Greek specialty foods and a dessert case that will knock your socks off with delicious homemade baklava and cakes. The waiters are hot and will probably call you honey, but I thought that was part of the charm. :) I am particular fan of their moussaka and dolmas. If you're not sure, try the sampler. They also have higher end items and a pretty robust wine list. I will definitely put this place on my list for next time. read more

I've been going here for years with my husband and family. It has been a staple for us. We love to go for lunch and dinner. The options on their menu are great. Everybody is always satisfeid with their meal and everybody leaves feeling full. The only downside is that what it is extremely busy, you run into things such as waiting for a while for the waiter or waitress to come over to get your order. And sometimes, when you have a hungry kid with you, that doesn't always help. But, I have to say, that it is clean and the serving sizes are always plentiful. Also, the other patrongs that go into this diner are very nice and seem to have been come to Minella's for a long time. Good time, but prices are a little much for diner food. Good food, fun and clean! Right up there in my expectations for dinings out. read more

Best diner food on the Main Line and in Southeastern Pennsylvania in general. The chorizo omelette, eggs benedict, and pastitsio (and the rest of the Greek food served there) are my favorites. The burgers are good, too, and the fries are nice and crispy. And the frappé (no, not a milk shake, but a Greek-style, Nescafe-based, cold coffee drink) is refreshing. read more
