4 of us went there on Saturday, oct 22. 2 barbeque pork sandwiches,a gyro and a barbeque beef sandwich. The gyro was dry. The pork was mostly bun and fell apart when cut. The beef tasted old. Not a good experience. read more

It's a real shame the way this place has gone downhill. Disgustingly dirty, If it's not sticky it's dusty and the bathrooms look and smell like they need an enema. That was my first indication but we persevered. My kids got leather disguised as the kids cheeseburger and my pulled pork tasted like it might put me in the hospital. It all just tasted old. Overall, the worst experience from one of my childhood favorites. The only thing that didn't miss were the fries but they weren't worth the 45 dollars I paid for 3 meals. Expensive AND gross. read more

Great rack of ribs. Kids enjoyed the burgers and hot dogs. Cheese fries were delicious. Drive thru was fast and efficient for social distance. We will be back soon. Plenty of outside seating if u want to eat there. Thank u Mindy for providing a service to your community safely. God bless read more

Best thing that I can say is that they did get our online order right. It was 5:50 on a Saturday, I expected to be getting fresh barbecue. We had both bbq ribs and bbq chicken in our order. Both were extremely dry and overdone. it seemed as though they had been kept in a warmer or similar for a long time. We also had a bbq pig (pulled pork) sandwich and a breaded chicken sandwich in our order. Both of these were ok but nothing special. read more

Friday night dinner... blah! Deluxe burger was all bun- no flavor. Bbq chicken dinner was okay, nothing special & shrimp basket - more fries than mini shrimp! Very dissatisfied && still hungry! read more

This place is garbage. I've given it two chances, far apart from one another. The first time I dumped water out of my salad before eating it. The second time, I ordered the grilled chicken combo and got robbed of 10 dollars and 50 cents. The chicken was SO thin--- all bread (see pictures). I don't know who would put that on the bread and think, "okay." If you're thinking, "who would order a salad or grilled chicken from Mindy's Ribs?", don't worry, my husband ordered the ribs both times and he described them as all bone and so dry. Even the iced tea tasted off and I dumped it out. All around disappointment. Do better. read more

We had not visited this eatery in several years. Last experience was mediocre at best. This time ? Atrocious. I understand that the restaurant industry has experienced tough economic times over the course of the last few years. I get it. Cutting corners, unfortunately, has become the norm. Conversely, people work hard for their money and dining out should be a treat. We ordered a BBQ chicken dinner and a chicken oregano. Both chicken entrees tasted like shoe leather. Old chicken? Freezer burn? Not edible. Corn bread was also stale. Anything positive? Cream of chicken soup was very good. Fries were tasty and crispy. Having said that I will not return. Paying Fifty dollars for this type of food is absurd. read more

So my kids love this restaurant so we eat out from here once a week. We get a full size chicken basket for my kids to share which is 5 strips. Today I get home with my order and I have the same strips that we normally get five of but instead we get 2 cut in half. I called to complain and was told that they're abnormally large this shipment. That would be fine except they are the same size that they always are. That's a horse s*** reply to someone who eats here weekly! Never eat here again a month ago I ordered a chicken sandwich that had a 2 inch bone in the middle of it. This place is far from what it was when it was on Lagrange in orland. Mark my words with customer service like this they'll be out of business in the next 2 years. Never going back. Thanks for your excellent service! Now you get my excellent review and lost business!!! read more

Mindy's Ribs - fried chicken and french fries in a styrofoam container - Barbeque Near Me - Mokena, Illinois

Terrible service with a nasty teenager girl dropping food on table when brought , ribs cold , fries chip like dry , gyros not hot , they went down hill , go to McDonald's , read more

We picked up rib dinners on New Years Eve and cannot say enough about how good they were! Being a holiday, we weren't sure what to expect but the ribs were done perfectly, meaty and absolutely delicious, would highly recommend because if they do this well on a holiday, they can only be even better normally read more

The food is generally good. I think the restaurant needs a good deep clean. There is crud always between the seats of the booths. For some reason, all of the tables are sticky feeling. I think they're clean, but who knows! I'll attach a picture next time we're there. read more

Oh wow! We used to love this place. The very thin grilled chicken was on a very dry stale bun and the cheeseburger was also dry on a dry bun. This was the worst meal we have ever eaten from here. The fries were good, otherwise it would have been one star. So disappointing. Sadly we won't be back. read more

Enjoyed Mindy's when they were in Orland Park, not so much now. Stopped in this week and the cheeseburger and the buffalo chicken wrap were dry and tasteless. The fries were very good though. My boneless rib sandwich was fine. Not sure if I will be back. read more

Decided to stop here as we were in the area and this restaurant has been open since I remember and I've never been so decided to stop. We ordered a rib and shrimp combo with potato salad and a Philly Steak. Took roughly 10-15 minutes to get our food but we could understand there was a reasonable amount of people in there being lunch time. We received our food the ribs looks as if the just smothered bbq sauce over ribs that we're sitting. The taste well they tasted as if they were a month old lacking seasoning. The Philly steak had no seasoning whatsoever. The only the that had any taste that was decent was the potato salad. I'm not sure if this place was ever good but it has been in business for a long time. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND read more

First time here, and it won't be my last!! Sale of 1-10, 10 = the best Service. 10 Cleanliness 10 Atmosphere 10 FOOD. 12 I have never had restaurant ribs & rib tips this good. The meat is tender, juicy, falls off the bone the way it should. The sauce is amazing. It's got the right tang and sweetness mixture that is long forgotten in a good bbq sauce. This is the perfect pace for any occasion. From ribs & burgers to loaded fries & ice cream. This has something for everyone!!! read more

On Saturday afternoon about 2pm. We dined on the patio, we ordered cheeseburgers and fries, fries were good, cheeseburger was dry, tasted like cardboard. We ordered for carryout ribtips, one bucket and one appetizer size. The tips were awful, tasted like one to two day old tips that were hard and dry. The only good thing we had is the bar-b-que sauce, we purchased a bottle to take home. read more

I ordered a cheeseburger that tasted like a frozen burger out of a box. My husband had the ribs and chicken. The ribs were ok but the chicken was dry and tasted like it also was pulled out of the freezer. Not worth the $30 plus we spent. read more

We stopped in here after some house hunting during a weekday. Although we stopped in for lunch it felt like we were coming in as they just opened. Only one couple at the tables and it appeared that the place was dead. We worry about this because of the low turnover of food. The store is unique and appears to be trying to simulate southern backwoods bbq restaurants. The staff was nice and helped us work through the large menu. The food took a while which is surprising because normally bbq food is made a head of time and just heated back up. The taste was decent but nothing that calls for us to come back. We might be back to try it again but overall this place didn't invoke any excitement. read more

Mindy's Ribs - Ribs Dinner with corn cob and corn bread - Barbeque Near Me - Mokena, Illinois

Mindy's is better than your typical fast food dinner and lunch choices. We get their coupons in our local mailer which is definitely a great incentive to stop in. I typically get the buffalo shrimp wrap, which I thoroughly enjoy. The decor is pretty outdated but not to the point where it bothers me. I tried the monkey shake this time and it was delicious! Here's why they get only 3 stars.. They don't hand out cups for just water. I just spent $3+ change on a shake that I don't specifically want to drink with my spicy food! and now I had to spend more for water. Also, the staff could be friendlier in general. I also noticed them just kind of standing around watching people eat...which is uncomfortable for anyone. read more

I ordered the chicken pita.... I know I should have tried something better to review on. So with that said I will try this place again and review next time. As for this time..... Ugh. Just OK chicken pita plate. Obviously not the staple of this place so no need to go into detail on it. The fries are the battered kind which I don't care for. Now the big problem here is the gross men's bathroom. Just avoid the bathroom and try some food. read more

Easy access from I-80 made this choice for us. That and the belief that BBQ is hard to screw up. All three of us had the combo Italian beef and sausage described as a sandwich without the bread. It's a great idea and was palatable, but not good enough that we would return. read more

Went there for dinner Friday evening. Absolutely disgusting. We purchased 2 full slab rib dinners and shrimp. Ribs were all fatty. Couldn't salvage anything. We spent $60+ and had to throw it all way. Spend your money elsewhere. This place has gone down hill! read more

We got the gyros to go this evening and really enjoyed them. Always good service, food ready quickly, reasonable prices. When dining in, they are like Patio Ribs where you order & pay at the counter, then have a seat and they bring your meal. Decor is mostly relics from the past. Old Coke machine, phone booth, etc. Definitely worth a stop for above average fast food. read more

Mindy's Ribs - Retro decorating. Not fastest service but fond atmosphere. - Barbeque Near Me - Mokena, Illinois

The pumpkin cheesecake was stellar. The Caesar salad was meh. Mindy's is your typical quick service BBQ restaurant. Order from the counter, wait for the server to bring your food, eat, leave. The prices are a little high for counter service, but not too bad. I was mostly craving sugar, so instead of ordering BBQ, I wasted my calories on the cheesecake. Calories well spent. The salad was mediocre, but all of the BBQ entrees I saw wandering around looked pretty darn appetizing. If I'm ever back in the area, I'll try it out again. Mindy's also has an ice cream bar with shakes and malts. Lots of flavors, cheap cones. Sounds good to me! read more

Worst Caesar salad ever. Little cubes of dark chicken only-horrible. Lettuce was wet. Had a party of 6 and no one was pleased. Philly cheesesteak was a mess, one person had a grilled chicken sandwich and the bun was twice as big as the chicken. Ridiculous. Been going here since it opened but I'm afraid this is the last time. read more

I have to be able to make sure that the best ribs are here. The above review was written by my 8 year old son, P.J. Mindy's is one of his favorite places to eat. After we were done eating he grabbed my phone and said he wanted to post a review on yelp. Today he got the rib basket with no sauce. The basket came with four nicely smoked bones and a bunch of fries. I ordered the pig and chedder wrap with fries. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food came out fast and was delicious. After P.J. was done eating he enjoyed a kiddie ice cream cone for only a quarter. It's a bit of a drive for us but well worth the trip. read more

Mindys salads have really gone downhill. You can't tell the chicken pieces from the croutons. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and the chicken pieces were so hard and dry like they had been sitting there for a while. I used to really love their salads they used to put a whole chicken breast cut up and their salads but they don't do that anymore I suppose they're trying to save money, but it's really not worth the money you pay. The quality is terrible. This is the second time I ordered the chicken Caesar salad and I forgot that they changed the way they make them. read more

Can I give zero stars? Seriously, I was at the Mokena location last night for dinner with my family and it was the first AND LAST TIME we will ever go to Mindy's. First, they forgot my son's fries. Okay, no problem. Then my fries were cold. When I told the server, she wanted me to give her all my food, including the sandwich. When I told her I wouldn't give her the sandwich and to just bring me some new fries, she sent the manager over with a plate to retrieve the cold fries. I picked up the fries WITH MY HAND and put them on the plate. While I am not sure if the fries she brought back were the same, why would she want them back? I'm pretty sure they were the same, and especially with COVID, this is A VERY DANGEROUS policy to use. Maybe the health department should look into this. read more

Worst service I've ever experienced. Messed the order completely up. It was 4 hot dogs and a fry. Was told to come back to get correct order. Come all the way back to wait in the drive thru where when it was finally my turn to come to the window the girls turned their back on me. I honk horn and was still continuously ignored. While this teenage girl was leaning on the glass. Left the order at their window and drive out. I'll chuck the $20 up as a donation. Place is a joke. read more

I always get the bbq beef, cream soup of the day, fried zucchini (with garlic dressing on the side) and the rib tip appetizer. Always delicious- order is always correct and staff is great! Even when I order ahead online, I go through the drive-thru and everything is still hot and fresh! Staff is always pleasant and friendly - please give them a try! read more

I respect business owners and the hard work it takes to run a business. To these owners I suggest "wake up" because this is the first one star I've ever given. My wife introduced me to Mindys years ago and I always enjoyed it, it's been awhile but not this time. We ate in and I had a cheeseburger and a bowl of chili. My wife had the chicken sandwich. My cheeseburger was sand like dry and the bun was older then I. The chili had a strange strange sweetness to it. My wife also got an old hard bun but said the chicken was edible. The wait staff was friendly but it didn't seem there was anyone with a vested interest in charge, nor any real grown ups. What was really disappointing was they brought us this God awful food and seemed proud of it. I hated this experience but always used to love this place. I hope the owners fall back in love with Mindy's Ribs before it's to late. read more

Pretty good food, but everytime I go through the drive thru the price is different even though I usually get the same thing. Today I ordered something different and the girl kept thinking that I was asking for zucchini (how you get that from fries is beyond me). Anyway I ended up with fries but nothing on my hotdogs even after I repeated my order 3x. read more

Average at best is the best way to describe Mindy's Ribs. Good service, mediocre food. When you walk into a rib joint I expect to have the smell of hickory permeate the air. Not here. Hard to score high for BBQ without that. Large dining area with a fast-food type counter. Place your order and they bring you your food when ready. Large menu selection good for lunch or dinner. Had the pulled pork sandwich and fries for lunch. It was ok. Nothing special. Really hard to describe. If you're in the mood for BBQ, you may want to check them out but don't expect much out of the experience. read more

Mindy's Ribs is an exercise in mediocrity. The food is okay, the service is a counter (think fast food). They take your order and process you quickly. In fact, that's the best analogy--Mindy's is the fast food of ribs. In fact, the fast food analogy is a good way to describe Mindy's. The food is bland and easy to eat. Service is quick, and works from a counter. They even have a drive through. So if you're in the mood for mediocre barbecue or you're in a hurry, and you don't really care about the experience, try Mindy's read more

Mindy's ribs are not smoked. I don't know why a "Rib" joint would offer this style of ribs. They rely solely on the BBQ sauce for flavor, not the meat itself. Mindy's would be very good if they learned how we like our ribs. (Smoked) read more

The fries were nearly perfect, just delicious! As I segued into the Texas bbq pork chop sandwich, disappointment dropped in for a surprise visit. Bite after bite, I poked and prodded, in search of a single piece of pork that wasn't dry and overcooked. I REALLY wanted to like the sandwich, I didn't expect Hog Wild, just a tasty, properly cooked chop, juicy and tender. Looked good on the menu? At 7:50 p.m., here I am with a stomach full of something I could have made better, and I'm not a great cook? Please guys, don't be complacent and expect people to return, without regard to what you serve. read more
