Ribs tips - take home and I added my own homemade garlic cheese toast.
Ava W.

I went through the drive thru and ordered rib tips with sauce on the side. Plated them at home and made some garlic cheese toast. The tips were okay but a little dry the sauce brought them back to life. When I first moved to this area, I would attend Mindys's frequently. Their food was delicious especially the soup and rib tips but unfortunately over the years and since the pandemic the food has declined so not a super big fan of how they're cooking now my meal was OK but my garlic cheese toast kicked it up a notch . Not sure how soon it'll be before I return, but the food was decent .

This was my first visit. Very similar environment and experience as Portillos. But Mindy's is a Rib place not a hot dog one. So we both ordered ribs of course. We felt that the overall prices were high. Especially for the ribs. Portion size was OK but the ribs were overcooked which made them dry and a little tougher than I like. However I did like them and they were very tasty. And I really like their sauce. The wife and I had different sides. Together we had baked potato (overcooked and mushy falling apart), coleslaw, French bread and French fries. These were excellent. Menu is huge. So we will be returning for the other items.

More sandwiches non barbecue lots of selections and combos

#21/2024 This is really three and a half stars but I'm upping it to the 4 because of the good service I received Mindy has been around for years and years on the corner of LaGrange Road and 191st Street in mokena just right off of the ramp to interstate 80. Through the years it seen it's ups and downs it's been good it's been bad it's been good again and the reviews definitely reflect. I call it more of a poor man portillo's with all the nostalgia that lines the walls and other things. They're known for their ribs they're usually pretty good for the most part their sandwiches aren't bad either. I'm also a fan of their chili because it's a mild beef chili tomato similar to like the pilot has and they're chili. I came in on this particular just before lunch and I was glad I did because boy did it gets slammed with locals however I ordered a rib sandwich combo which was fries and a drink diet Pepsi. It came out quite quickly I dined in. The rib was very tasty I had a couple of large pickles on there in the barbecue sauce. No onions no let us know tomato some of the options on theirs. I also decided to try their chili she gave me a sample it was what I remembered still really good no fancy not a bunch of onions and peppers and junk in there like Wendy's does. They have daily specials a lot of times the ribs are on sale certain days of the week. They also have a pretty good selection of things their own sort of versions of wrap some healthy not healthy LOL. The sandwich choices and the dinner platters are still very vast also. One of the other things though I didn't notice was very clean bathrooms and the area where you get the beer has its own little area counter now. They do have outside dining although it looks a lot older than what it looks like before it could use a little sprucing but a lot of people have to sit out there and they bring the food out to you. Drive-thru business is very strong during the lunch time and late morning. At the time I probably hadn't been there in about 5 or 6 years before covid. But all in all it was a pretty good experience and if I'm in the area and hungry I probably would stop in again and get something.

Pulled pork was pretty good, but the fries and sides were nothing special. Dinner was good enough to plan for another visit.

Service and the restaurant ambiance were great! Unfortunately the food was average at best. None of the food tasted like it was seasoned.

When we finally made it in, I was surprised by how small and intimate the place was -- cozy atmosphere, limited seating, and a lively bar setup. The highlight for sure was the Margarita Flight Boarding Pass. Super creative idea! You pick four flavors from their list, fill out a little "boarding pass," and hand it to your server. Between two flights, we tried coconut, huckleberry, mango, strawberry banana, blackberry, key lime pie, peach, and raspberry. Every flavor actually tasted true to its name -- bold, fruity, and fun. Definitely the most memorable part of the night. For appetizers, the Burrata Board was fresh and well-balanced -- creamy burrata, prosciutto, and honeycomb made for a great light start. The French Onion Soup was a twist on the classic -- a bit lighter in flavor but still comforting and satisfying. For mains, we went with the Buffalo Chicken Salad and the Charleston's Classic Smash Burger. The salad was fine but nothing that stood out -- grilled chicken topped with buffalo sauce rather than fully tossed in it. The burger had great flavor and the Merkts cheese was a star, but it leaned more toward a hearty pub-style burger than a true "smash." Overall, Dock on Front was good -- flavorful food, unique drinks, and a fun concept -- but it didn't quite live up to the hype. I'd tell anyone it's worth visiting once, but I'm not in a rush to go back. After all the buzz, I expected to be blown away--but it fell just short of that mark.

The majority of the food was cold, not warm much less hot. The prime rib was very rare, very. No option for med. The coffee after finishing the cup had grounds in the bottom of the cup. The gravy for the mashed potatoes was in a crockpot. I guess they ran out of chafing dish. We told the server that the prime rib was too rare to eat and she smiled and walked away. I did get sick from this food and vomited this am. This was a $60 an adult buffet. We sent a email to the GM. This is his response. Thank you so much for coming out to our Easter brunch at Social 45. I am truly sorry to hear you had such a negative experience. We do not take this lightly. We appreciate you informing us about this matter so that we can make the necessary adjustments to ensure future guests have the best experience possible. Although you made it clear that you do not intend to return, this is not the outcome that we hope for. We would love the chance to make up for your unfortunate experience. Again, I would like to thank you for the feedback. My advice to everyone is don't go to social 45 for anything.

The service was extremely friendly and welcoming. Danae was our server again, just as she was on our previous visit, and she delivered the same excellent, attentive service. It's always a great sign when consistency carries over from one visit to the next. The Friday Fish Fry features four pieces of cod, each cut into roughly four-inch portions about the circumference of a quarter. This size allows the fish to cook evenly while maintaining its moisture and flaky texture. The cod is very lightly beer-battered, which we really appreciated--it enhances the flavor without overpowering the delicate taste of the fish. The standard accompaniments are cornbread and a lightly seasoned, fresh jicama slaw. One of the nice touches is the flexibility with sides--you're allowed to substitute fries and/or coleslaw for other options. I opted for a cup of the soup of the day, which was Cajun she-crab (excellent), along with onion straws. There are several other side choices available as well, some with a minimal upcharge. Our second experience was just as enjoyable as the first. We'll definitely be back--not only for the fish fry, but to explore more of the menu.

Our server, Naomi, welcomed us right away and immediately made us feel comfortable with her friendly and engaging personality. She brought water to the table, took our drink orders, and returned quickly with our beverages before checking if we were ready to order. After answering a few questions, we decided on the fresh oysters, four-cheese flatbread, and pork belly tacos. The oysters were served first, and Naomi took the time to explain their region and variety, which added a nice touch to the experience. They were fresh, clean, and nicely briny. The service, atmosphere, and food all came together nicely, and we'll definitely be returning again soon.
