It was lunch time I had a taste for some rib tips so I said let me give them another opportunity to bring it. I ordered a medium rip tip with sauce on the side. The rip tips were a bit dry and they tasted old it wasn't the best quality of meat but what brought them back to life was the bbq sauce it was flavorful. The fries were hot, fresh and seasoned well. I'm was not excited about the rib tips and wouldn't order them again. Lots of Bears memorabilia inside the restaurant and the customer service was warm and welcoming. The take out bag had a nice touch - see photos. Overall it was average. I will try their ribs in a couple of weeks. I will update soon - who knows the third try may be the charm.

Coleslaw - great taste! Somehow both vinegary and mayo-y

My husband and I just moved here from Austin, TX and we were missing some good BBQ. My husband swung in to Bear Down to grab us dinner and they did NOT disappoint!! The man who took our order was super friendly and fun to chat with. As nice as the staff was the star of the show was the food! The ribs are absolutely AMAZING! I got a hot dog (it was DELICIOUS!!) and my husband got the pulled pork sandwich. The pulled pork had so much flavor - 10/10!!!! We got a bunch of sides but our favorite was the spicy green beans. This place is all hits - no misses. Can't wait to come back!!

Delicious. Bear Down has been here 7 years tucked in the corner of the shopping area. Ribs without any fat - eat 'em all the way to the bone. Delicious sauce Fries solid - dip those in the bbq sauce too while you're at it. So much on the menu. All looks terrific. The fantastic smell hits you the second you walk in the door. Prices for homemade food are reasonable, especially for the high quality. Order ahead or eat in. Nice owners, great food - will return soon. Planning on eating at Buona or Potbelly? Change your mind and go here instead. One of the best places I've been to.

3 Ribs for $12.00 supposed to equal 1/2 slab

Well things have changed and it's AWFUL NOW. Rashid's dad doesn't have a clue how to operate computerized equipment. He charged people the wrong price and that's the best thing that happened during my 1 hour wait. No slabs or half slabs you pay by the pound now. I paid $12.00 for 3 ribs which the dad said would be equivalent to a half slab. Have you ever heard of having to go ONLINE to your checking account to prove you paid? And when I pulled up the account as proof Rashid said $21.94 had a minus sign next to it so that means he had refunded my money. NOT TRUE! It means it was deducted from my account. All I can say is AWFUL TERRIBLE NOT WORTH THE TRIP FROM CHICAGO! Oh he drew a Happy Face on the bag like that would cure the pain. What happened to this place!!!

Great food! I ordered a pulled pork, the meat was very juicy! I was a big fan of the Mac and cheese as well! We got A LOT of food for less than $40. Beyond the food, the owner showed lots of hospitality. He asked us what we thought of our meal, and we talked about how the prices are inaccurate on Yelp. So here is the menu, get yourself some delicious BBQ!

We decided to finally come in for lunch and was greeted by the owner. Super nice guy! It's a small place, but has really cool Chicago Bears memorabilia. Since I had an appointment and an hour to waste, we dined in. We ordered the large tips and fries. Really tender and just fell off the bone. I like my barbecue sauce a bit spicier, but it was still good. Loved the fries too. Next time we will try the brisket.

The restaurant is located in what appeared to be a very safe and affluent area, with plenty of parking available and a nice park nearby that's perfect for a walk after dinner. The prices are definitely on the higher end, but the food was excellent. We especially loved the tuna roll and eel roll. Both tasted incredibly fresh; honestly, it felt like the chef had just caught the fish moments before preparing it. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. One minor complaint was the water. It was served without ice and tasted somewhat bland. I'm not sure if it was heavily filtered or just sitting at room temperature, but it was lukewarm and not particularly refreshing. Our waitress was fantastic: very attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout the meal. The only service issue we encountered was that the busser cleared one of our plates before we had completely finished eating, which made us feel a little rushed. Overall, it was a great dining experience with outstanding food, excellent service, and a sophisticated atmosphere. While the prices are high, the quality of the sushi makes it well worth considering for a special occasion.

After eating here 7 times now, I can say this place is pretty amazing. It gets better every time we come in. Opening weeks here were pretty rough- huge crowds, service was slow, etc, everything you'd expect from a popular new joint in a town that has needed a sushi restaurant. Every time I have been in since, though, it gets better and better. The waitstaff are now seasoned and can handle busy nights with ease. Bartenders make awesome and unique cocktails. The main draw is the cuisine, though. It's Korean/Japanese fusion. Beyond sushi, they have some exceptional Korean-inspired dishes. Even my super finicky daughters find stuff on the menu they love. My wife and sons love all the sushi, while I like to bounce around and try anything interesting and new. The ambience is super cool, and the servers know their stuff. It's so fantastic to have a place like this in downtown Frankfort. While we love our longtime restaurants, it's great having new stuff to enjoy- especially food as unique and creative as this. 5 well-deserved stars.

We wanted something other than just burgers again, so I proposed seafood. There didn't seem to be a lot of options in this area, but Dancing Marlin seemed to fit the bill and was pretty close. Before going, we looked at the menu, and there really wasn't anything my little one was going to want on the kids menu - there was no seafood for the kids, not even a basic fish and chips. He saw the lobster rolls appetizer though, and that sold him, so we got in the car and headed down. When we went to order, the waiter told us the only thing they were out of was the lobster rolls, but when we asked about the lobster gnocchi that my other son was about to order, they said they could do that, so I asked to speak with the manager. She explained that they only liked to use big whole pieces of lobster for the lobster rolls, and that is what they were out of, but had the smaller pieces they normally used in the gnocchi dish. I asked if she could do the lobster rolls with the smaller pieces, and she confirmed with the chef so we were back in business. The food was all excellent. I had the seared ahi and it was delicious, but was just a small portion for my liking. The scallops my wife had were delicious, but for $38 it was only 4 scallops. Maybe kids who live around here don't want fish when their parents do, but you should at least have a kids portion of fish and chips, or some fried shrimp on the menu for them. I'm not going to order a $27 fish and chips portion for a little kid, but he also didn't come to just eat chicken nuggets or buttered noodles.

The owner Brad welcomed us with a hearty hello, like we'd been there every Friday night since opening. I was very happy to hear the salads are made with romaine and not that spring mix everyone is using these days. So we started our meal the BLT salad. Very tasty and a nice light start to the meal. Next up was pizza. The thinnest of thin and crispy crust. The sauce was a very nice blend. Tomatoe sauce and herbs were not over powering and in my opinion not too sweet. A good balance of cheese, toppings and sauce. Not so much sauce that it oozes out with every bite. They were very careful with the toppings and keeping them on the respective halves.
