I misread the app and thought my gate was G1 instead of C1. I walked past this place and it smelled amazing but I wanted to eat somewhere close to my gate. Checked every restaurant in A, B, C, D, E, and F and decided to walk back to G. It was the best airport meal I've ever had in 40 years of flying around the world. I had the grilled walleye sandwich with fries and added a side of garlic aioli. I felt it was a bargain as far as airport food went. And the service was impeccable. Stop in. I just came in for a drink and to charge up my phone, so yes there are charging stations. My drink was good though and relatively large The lady who brought my drink was also friendly. Stopped in while traveling for work, and while the atmosphere was pleasant enough and the staff genuinely friendly, the overall experience fell short especially for the price point. The food was *fine* but nothing memorable, certainly not what you'd expect for how expensive everything was. The biggest issue was the payment system. We tried two different cards before the machine actually processed the transaction, and both attempts resulted in double charges. Not exactly the kind of stress you want during a layover. Even if everything had gone smoothly and we'd only been charged once, it still wouldn't have felt worth it. The place is definitely cute, the best part of the experience was the customer service. They definitely have some great people working here. I ordered the American breakfast. It was just ok. The Canadian bacon was great, the potatoes didn't seem cooked all the way and the eggs were overly cheesy. I might try it again next time I'm in MSP, perhaps it was an off day for food. You order by QR code, so there's no opportunity to ask a server about the menu. I opted for the French Dip with Jack Cheese and Fries, with a Stella Artois draft. The flavors were basically good, although there wasn't much cheese or complexity to the sandwich. And be prepared, it is expensive for what you get. This lunch set me back $40. This place is a no go for me. Looked cute and clean. While we were waiting for our flight, (about 45 mins) the staff broke 3 glasses and didn't seem to upset about it like it happens all the time. We get like we were at a dive bar at 1 am. I heard more cursing, more derogatory conversations, more high school drama than anyone would expect from a restaurant in an airport. I thought maybe I was hearing teenagers but no, they were full grown adults. One gal was going on and on about losing her "d$ck jigger" to make a drink. The only guy worker wasn't any better than the three gals, he obviously is setting the bar low with how he conducts himself. Although right before our flight left, they all got quiet because the bunch of us by the gate were just staring open mouthed. I ordered a meal before my flight on Jan. 19. The server misunderstood my order. The order was immediately changed (the order hadn't even reached the kitchen yet) but I was told they had to re-enter the order and I'd be charged for both orders but reimbursed for the order they had wrongfully entered. I was shorted $7 on the reimbursement. I have contacted the company many times and they either refuse to reimburse the wrongfully withheld money or ignore my emails. Watch your bill carefully. Please, I implore you, do yourself a favor and avoid this sorry excuse for a restaurant. As others have already written, you're forced to scan a QR code on the table, which pulls up a digital menu where you must place an order. My wife and I had a short layover in Minneapolis, placed an order for two meals and two beverages. Shortly after placing the order, a waitress came out with the beverages and stated the kitchen was closed. I asked why we were able to place an order, to which she could not provide any logical explanation. I stated if the food order is not being fulfilled, we also do not want the beverages and inquired how to get a refund. She insisted there was nothing she could do and that I needed to request a refund via the digital receipt I'd received on my phone, to which I did. A short time later, I received an email response from Mimosa / OTG stating the kitchen is open for another 30 minutes. Completely ridiculous given the staff at the restaurant insist the kitchen is closed and that I need to request a refund, for which apparently, they're helpless to offer any resolution. The gentleman behind the bar then proceeded to patronize me by smiling and acting with a completely over-the-top and clearly fake politeness and telling me to have a nice day. I truly empathize with travelers who have to put up with and deal with such unscrupulous and dishonest business practices, coupled with such nasty people as this young man. I then responded to Mimosa's email stating the kitchen is closed and the restaurant won't fulfill the order. The "manager" then wrote back stating he would issue a refund that would be processed in 5-7 days. Truly an inconvenience and annoyance, but had it been resolved there, I wouldn't be taking the time to write this post. But it wasn't resolved. It's been 11 days and the charge is still on my account and has posted. Mimosa / OTG and the "manager" who replied via email have done nothing to resolve this. I also added the hello@otgexp.com email as the Business Owner has suggested in other negative Yelp reviews, and that too so far, has done nothing to resolve this situation. In reading other reviews, I'm not the only person who's been charged for orders which were not fulfilled, and also did not receive a refund. To break it down -- customers are forced to place an order via a website by scanning a QR code, meanwhile the staff at the physical restaurant location insist the kitchen is closed, while the digital store / website indicates it's open, thereby placing customers in the middle of a (likely intentional) "miscommunication" between the digital store and the physical restaurant. These type of unscrupulous business practices and fraudulent charges are completely unacceptable. In taking a quick look at Yelp and Google, it's quite clear this is not an isolated incident. Despite having it in writing that they would issue a refund, Mimosa / OTG did nothing of the sort and have not responded to further inquires. Since then I filed a claim with my bank disputing this transaction since the order was not fulfilled and the company has done nothing to resolve it, and it's now well beyond their stated timeframe of 5-7 days. Do yourself a favor, go anywhere else in the airport. You will be saving yourself time, money, a headache, and you might actually get something to eat. read more

Easily the worst dining experience I've had in the past 5 years. Seriously. Waitstaff is openly bored/disinterested, can't be bothered to wipe a dirty bar. We had time to kill at MSP, so stopped at the Mimosa for a late lunch. The place was basically empty. We bellied up to the bar and the bartender advised us that we had to order and pay from a digital menu. It was an impersonal experience, but the food was good. We had a french dip, the bread and meat were very warm and the au jus was flavorful. The salad was fresh and the fries crisp and piping hot. We left to pick up some items and returned for a pre-flight beer. My credit card would not work the 2nd time around. According to the bartender, that's a common occurrence with the credit card companies declining 2nd charges to the Mimosa. I offered to pay cash and the bartender had to call a manager over to verify and take my cash! Well, the manager wasn't available for cash transactions. I got a nice cold glass of ice water instead. I'm not in the habit of writing critical reviews, but when you straight up rip me off, I feel a duty to warn others. This was early in the morning and although the place was packed with diners, there was only one waitress and bartender on duty. You have to order online and pay when you order. After waiting 25 minutes for $40 eggs and toast that never came, I told the bartender how long I had been waiting and asked what was going on. "Yeah, everybody's waiting," he snapped, as if this was my problem. This is an airport restaurant. We have flights to catch, and if the service is slow, the customers don't eat. He processed my refund and said I will have to wait at least two days to get reimbursed, for a meal that was ridiculously overpriced in the first place. I am dubious I'll even get my money back without a fight. This goes well beyond just really poor service. It's really fraud and theft. Give me my damn money back. read more

What is it about our insistence as a species to continue to pay through the nose for subpar products? Especially when you are a captive consumer as you are when you are waiting for an early morning flight. I ordered a croissant breakfast sandwich with a hot tea and man oh man did I pay dearly for this choice. The tea itself (one teabag and one cup of hot water) was over $4 and the breakfast sandwich was $14 I think. And the croissant sandwich was sloppily made and by the time I took my second bite, the bottom half was completely soaked through. The sausages were links sliced in half to accommodate the sandwich and were not very tasty. The breakfast potatoes were good but only because they were deliciously salted and maybe I have a deficiency. Next time, save your money and go to McDonalds! read more

Sorry, but if I'm eating in an establishment the tip is predicated on service and food quantity. I settled for a soft pretzel because the more I looked around the more dirt and grime I found. The pretzel tasted like it came out of the frozen food section and microwaved. It came with whole grain mustard and some form of cheese. I am sitting here in a corner spot happy as can be right now because this place has optimized its abilities to make service as smooth as possible. Would I like this interaction with every meal and restaurant, no. But because I have headphones in and I am grumpy from traveling all day it is nice to use a personal tablet to order my food and stay out of others way. I ordered a tequila sunrise - strong and tasty. French onion soup that was super rich and delicious, some yummy yummy crab cakes and french fries. I am a simple girl so those sea salt fries were incredible for sure. The staff was friendly and so helpful and I am so excited to get on my flight home. What a odd place. It was the only eatery open at just 9pm in this sleepy airport. We ate there solely because there was no choice. it's a bit grubby, but the service was friendly. The tables feature electronic tablets between diners which prevent couples from seeing each other. The service was quite good and the waitress tried hard to keep us happy. I ordered fried potato wedges. They were nice but the gravy they came with was bloody awful. My wife had a walleye sandwich. The fish was really good. The accompanying fries and bread, were eminently forgettable. It's not a place to which we would deliberately return. To the price. Like most airport eateries it was far too expensive and offers food which does not justify the cost. On top of that there was no option through the tablets, to offer a tip. Mimosa is a French restaurant and bar located in Concourse G, near Gates G1 and G2, inside Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. This place looks nice. It's modern, open, and seating seems to extend seamlessly into the gate area. What's most striking is every seat has an iPad. When we visited close to 3pm in the afternoon, the lights inside the restaurant were dim and the brightness of the iPads was right in our faces. The iPads were actually kind of annoying and a couple of the folks in my group took the iPads off their stands and laid them face down on the table so they could see each other better. The screens were distracting when trying to have conversations across the table. On the bright side, each table had convenient AC power outlets, including USB ports, so that was nice. They have servers here, but it's weird because you have to place your order on the iPad. If you want to do separate checks, each person orders on their own iPad. If you want to do one check, then the group must use one iPad to order. Simple enough. We had two ladies come by to explain this to us and how to order. Note: Fellow Atlanta Yelper Joel B pointed out in his 4/17/2013 review that you can't run a tab. The iPad gave me the option to open a tab, so that aspect may have changed since he's been here. We just got some light drinks: an Arnold Palmer ($4), raspberry lemonade ($4.50), black iced tea ($2.49), and a decaf iced coffee ($3.59) with cream and caramel flavor ($0.75). After tip, these four non-alcoholic beverages rang up to almost $20. What stinks about the ordering system is you must prepay upfront. This is fine except you're asked to leave a tip for service you haven't yet received. That means there's no telling when you'll see your server again once your orders have been served. In our case, once we got our drinks, we never saw our server again. So make sure your order is correct before they walk away. I had the iced coffee and it was fine. Since we were dining in, it was served in a glass. It was creamy and sweetened to my liking. The place was dead when we visited and I'd say we spent a good hour here. The iPads are loaded with games that are free to play. I can also see this as a decent spot to unwind a bit with your laptop or tablet. read more

I liked Mimosa- they had a good variety of dishes with different price ranges so they were much more budget friendly than Taste of Shoyu. I wasn't exactly hungry so I ultimately chose an ahi tuna salad, even though the burgers and other entrees looked really good. I didn't regret my choice at all. :) As with the restaurants in G terminal (i.e. Taste of Shoyu), you order through iPads and they have numerous outlets to meet your devices' charging needs. And no salt and pepper, not that they needed them. They were good for 8 bucks. A server walked over with my order. "Bourbon on the rocks", he said. What? No hello? Now, to top it all off they overbooked the flight by 8 people. Is this the future? How stiff and inhuman. To pay the tip is set to 17%. For what? The server only did half the job. In the early morning hours, this is pretty much your only choice on the G concourse. And when it's your only choice, it is alright. You order from an iPad, you have to tip when you order, and there's a 4% convenience fee on top. Not sure why we have to pay a fee to order from an iPad. But when you have no other options, you just have to deal with it. Since the server doesn't show up except to deliver you food, you can't really ask questions about anything. The iPad is good for killing a little time - there are some games and popular websites available. But most people can do the same from their own phone. There is outlets on every table so you can charge your device easily. The bar is probably the best part of this place. Lots of draft beer options and good selection of liquor. Mimosa was just what I needed during my 7 hour layover at MSP. I had the opportunity to explore most of the airport and all it has to offer before finally settling down at my gate in concourse G. After 6 hours of walking in circles I definitely needed a drink so Mimosa was perfect. I love the I Pad concept simply because I can order at my own pace and the descriptions on the menu are detailed enough that you would not need to have a conversation about any of the items. Being that this is a resturant in the airport they definitely have airport prices and I'm not sure of the quality of the food but the menu was pretty basic with veggies like asparagus topped with cheese for $7. The resturant is very trendy with white block booths and tables throughout , the resturant seating extended to the waiting area in front of my gate . There are plenty of outlets so a lot of people were sitting at the little booths charging their phones without ordering anything. I ordered the Not so Kiddy cocktail on the I Pad and 5 games and 10 minutes later a waiter arrived with my drink. For $13 plus tip my drink was strong enough to have me knocked out during my 3 hour flight. This will be my go to spot if I ever have a layover at MSP again. read more
