After going here several times, I have nothing but good things to say. The people that work here are so incredibly friendly. The first time I came Lalo helped me out and was super nice and checked up on me and my friend several times even after we were done eating which was super cool. The food is really good and I would definitely recommend the chicken sandwiches. The fries are bomb too btw. Tonight I went and Pat was super nice and asked my friend and I if we wanted an ashtray cause he saw our cigarette box on the table. We didn't even eat there we were just using a table to sit at and like wth he totally didn't have to do that but he went out of his way. He's also really funny and says the funniest stuff to random guests. He's the sh*t!!! I just moved to Whittier a month ago and this is by far me and my friends favorite cafe! Love it here! Order at the counter or grab a table for service. My daughter loves the croissants and cookies here. It's kind of a our little father and daughter afterschool spot. The staff members that I have encountered have been rude and condescending. This place is convenient for me to grab some food but since the female staff members that I have encountered are rude I won't be coming here again.I had ordered the chicken strips kids mea over the phone like I have done multiple times but the staff member kept mentioning that I need to bring my " kid" in to show proof she is under 11. I said yea no problem and the staff member made sure to sound like she had so much authority about approving this kids meal . I get there to the Cafe and the female worker pulls out the menu and says " here see that's what it says I don't want you thinking I'm picking on you ok " I said I've been here before ma'am and no one has ever done what your doing or showing me. Amazing cafe with open patio seating in the heart of Uptown Whittier. All of the servers are super nice and friendly. Coffee is a must. Breakfast is a must. Omelettes are always cooked perfect. I love the sourdough toast with strawberry and grape jam. For lunch, get fries in the side. Sometimes I get a bag of fries by itself. Crispy delicious with ketchup or ranch. Once in a while I will order the chicken souvlaki. It is my favorite food from Mimo's. I get pasta salad for the side. The street is full of nice shops to check out while going for a walk after a meal. read more

I ordered my food and I did not receive the alert that my order was received regardless I walked down to the shop and my order was ready. I got the Santa Fe chicken sandwich and it was good. Next time I'll go in person to order because their treats (cookies) did look yummy. The shop wasn't busy but I'm assuming it had to do with the rain. read more

This is a little diner, not a five star restaurant. if you complain about the food, go home and learn how to cook. The time you took to make a review, you would have actually cooked the meals, you can easily make at home. shut up and eat your food and go about your business. Very low key mom and pop location that has outdoor seating. Its a nice stop to hit to grab a bite before the movies. :) Wonderful patty melt and the fries were crisp but not well. The staff was very nice and I'll have to ask for well done next time. They're very easy going and laidback. Walking down Uptown Whittier you notice this place is sitting on a corner with lots of patio chairs and people filled drinking coffee and eating their lunch. Some are sitting alone like me and others are with company. It's a place to relax and eat your food and get on with your entire day. I come here for my lunch break and I always want to try something different. So far I've had : 1. Vegetable Soup 2. Potato Salad 3. Garden Salad 4. French Toast 5. Eggs with toast Some of those things aren't really healthy for you but they are pretty good in flavor !! :) I still haven't tried everything yet but everything that I have tried, I loved and enjoyed it !! The service is very friendly and the people that work here always seem to be in such a great mood that it makes you happy as well. If any of you guys are ever in Uptown Whittier I would suggest giving this place a try. I haven't really noticed the long wait in getting food. I cannot believe I haven't written a review for Mimo's! What can I say? I come here way more often than I should but it's walking distance from my casa (ok all of Greenleaf is walking distance from my casa) so I come here for breakfast, lunch, ice cream, lattes, etc. I am a big fan of their Chorizo plate for breakfast because I am a big fan of everything that comes from a pig...ok not everything but you catch my drift. I am also a big fan of their ham and cheese sandwich (told ya) because they use the Thanksgiving ham on it not the thin excuse of deli meat they use at Subway. My son loves their ice cream cones and shakes because they make it with real ice cream. Vanilla latte is a must, it's all frothy and makes you feel giddy inside. The first time I came here (a long ass time ago) the girl at the counter was a bite of a you-know-what so I was like, yea I am not going to like this place. But I gave it another shot and everyone has been tots friendly especially a young guy and girl. They come out and ask you how you are doing and they bring you water too. Only thing is they don't have a bathroom so better pee pee before leaving home and bring your hand sanitizer. This is a nice spot to come and sit outside and people watch the freaky crowd that live in or visit Whittier. For me this place is great! I've been here so many times. Perfect place to go after a mountain bike ride or a hike. Plenty of out door shaded seating so if you have a dog with you its cool. I've been here for breakfast and lunch and their both very good. It also happens to serve traditional Greek coffee and the summer alternative, Frape'. I couldn't believe it! I normally make it myself but to find it at a diner is pretty rare. It's more like rocket fuel rather than a regular cup of joe. Very strong! Ok, we ordered the Greek salad and added chicken, a bacon cheese burger, a chicken salad and a BLT with fries. The Greek salad w/chicken was really good. It was huge too. The bacon cheese burger was also very good. Better than the average. The chicken salad was also good and the as was the BLT. You really can't go wrong with anything you order here. Went here for breakfast. Husband wanted to check this place out. I thought this place would be a big restaurant. There's plenty of outdoor seating. There are even outdoor heaters. There were tables inside as well. I had the Denver omelette with wheat toast and potato hash. I had an orange juice to drink. The omelette had green peppers and ham and cheese was melted on top. It was delicious. I had wheat toast with butter on top. The potatoes had a little flavor to it. Some sort of spice was added to the potatoes. It was flavorful. I enjoyed my meal. The servers and the ladies behind the counter were really nice. The young gentleman that served us was really nice. He made sure we were okay and kept checking up on us. He even offered to turn on the heater for me. Now that is what I call customer service. If a server goes out of his way to make me feel comfortable, then that server gets 5 stars from me. It's a great place for breakfast and brunch. There is street parking. Place is within old Downtown Whittier. Cool place. Come early because there were a lot of people that came in after us. I love coming to Mimo's early on a Sunday morning before it gets packed. The view from the outside of the cafe is great. It has a great view of Uptown Whittier. The service here is very friendly and accommodating. The prices are amazing! The menu has an array of food selection, however, not everything is particularly good. Although, one of my favorite meals is the Greek Omelette with a hot chocolate on the side. It comes with country style potatoes and your choice of toast. I recommend coming during the morning and sitting in the patio area. It's a great place to eat and catch up on emails or even with a friend! read more

In my four years of going to Whittier College, Mimo's has probably been the most consistent part of my time here. I love everything about it- from the old dudes sitting off in the corner smoking cigarettes and drinking coffee to the free burger I get every 10th visit. The service is excellent, quick, personable. The food is always good, and while it's not one of those new, hip and trendy restaurants that have been opening in Uptown recently, it's cheap, good, and will fill you up. I recommend the Santa Fe Skillet, it's incredible. Pair that with an amaretto latte and you have yourself a meal. My time here at Whittier is coming to a close, but if I'm ever in the area I'll definitely be stopping in for breakfast. I'll probably bring my kids here. And maybe one day I'll be one of those old guys in the corner smoking an e-cigar, sipping some coffee-flavored water (i imagine coffee beans will be extinct by then), disgruntled about how I don't recognize the world anymore. read more

We have been here twice. Once for dessert after dinner. We got coffee shakes. We didn't have to wait to order. Their shakes are good. Second time was for Sunday brunch. I only looked at the menu that was displayed outside. I asked a waitress what was in the Santa Fe Skillet. She told me everything that was in it and said it was very good. So that is what I got. We also arrived before the rush so we were able to find seats inside and outside, but we decided to eat inside since it was warmer. The only reason why I deducted one star, there is no public restroom. The Santa Fe Skillet was definitely good. I ordered it was sourdough toast, sausage and over easy eggs. read more

This place will always, always, ALWAYS have a special place in my heart. I've been coming here since I was SUPER young and my experience has never been bad. The staff are such sweethearts and make you feel so welcomed. The food is delicious I recommend the avocado burger or the tacos!! The staff are always quick to fix any minor problem with an order or anything that you aren't happy with. They check on you quite often to make sure your experience is well. I love that there is indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. The vibe of the whole place is lovely you often are able to see the events going on in uptown or see people playing guitar and etc. If you don't like seeing kids being KIDS and skating around then this definitely isn't the place for you! My first time here... When I arrived I asked where the restroom is located and was told that I needs to go across the street by the parking structure .... What?!? We sat outside in the lovely patio. All was good until our food arrived and suddenly all the flies in Whittier were upon us... So here's the trick... Cover your food with a napkin and pull out bites as needed. At first glance Mimo's Cafe doesn't look like much more than a corner coffee shop. When I actually stepped in it really opened up. They have a big menu for such a small place. The environment is friendly and homie. You will see the local chatting it up with one of the cooks and really get a sense of being in a tight nit community. They have that Elvis era rock and roll coming from the speakers. I ordered an iced latte with no add ins. It was a good cup, nothing extravagant, but a great value and good taste. I paired it with a breakfast burrito. Man was that burrito tasty. Big chunks of ham and a good size for the price. The salsa it came with was SO GOOD, but hot! So watch out!
