Updating my 5 star review to 2 since I had good visits in the past. This time however I called to see availabilities and how I can book again through Classpass using my pre-paid membership since I didn't see open times available. They told me they never heard of it then told me their prices. I booked in the past before via Class Pass and paid extra out of pocket for Gel (understandable!) but was shocked both the owner and daughter of the owner hadn't heard about it. She said she can look in their past books then said we are on Class Pass but are not active with them. I verified with Class Pass support after our phone call and their AI chat did clarify that concierge listed business' may not know. So no fault on them for not knowing but it could have been handled better. This conversation escalated with distrust. Her daughter even said to me "I'm sitting here doing a friend's nails and she can hear me talking" noting "we are listed as concierge." Now not only am I feeling lied to, unheard and not getting resolution I'm learning our phone conversation is being listened in on with whomever is around her. She continues to say she is not going to continue to take my abuse and as I am saying "ok bye" she continues to talk over me saying I'm not letting her talk and says at the end of the conversation "and I'm going to record this conversation." Never did I l consent to a phone recording at the beginning, after the controversial hostile conversation nor now. read more

Came to Mimi's last Tuesday and immediately noticed bubbles in my nails and uneven coating when I left. I had a busy week with a newborn and ended up not calling to have them redone. 2 of my nails chipped Saturday. I called today - Monday - to see if they'd be able to get me in to correct my nails and they said yes (yay!). They wanted to redo the 2 chipped nails and I didn't want to do that bc it seemed like there was an issue with the polish. While having a new polish painted on, I was asked if I was getting a color change, which is just bad customer service after you agreed that the polish was uneven. The kicker was that I went to pay and she said normally we charge $20, but I'll take $5 off for you since you just had them done... and the total was $20 on my receipt. I just left Mimi's after getting a deluxe pedicure and I couldn't be happier. I looked at all of the salons from Enumclaw to Covington and chose Mimi's because of their excellent reviews. I made an appointment for 545pm, then had to push it back twice and they were so kind and accommodating. When arriving at the salon I was greeted by the cutest and sweetest little mascot, Cloud, so we were already off to a great start. During my pedicure she was attentive to my water temperature, gentle, she took her time and she did a fantastic job. I was the last client, at any other salon they would have rushed me to go home early, instead she gave me one of the best pedicures I've ever had. I also felt the prices were more than fair for the care I received. I generally don't get my toes done unless I'm going out of town, I've honestly never had a pedicure good enough to make me want to come back, but Mimi's has just made a regular client out of me! read more

Today was my first visit here, I came in for a pedicure. My family moved to Black Diamond this summer & I hadn't found "my new spot" yet with everything going on. I found this spot after searching local nail salons. It was clean, and the pedicure chairs were great- really nice massagers in them. They require you to wear a face mask and I saw the owner mopping the floor and sanitizing tools. The owner Mimi helped me today, she was there working with her husband. She did a great job and was talkative and friendly. She says they opened up this shop over the summer after running a nail salon in Enumclaw for 15 years. I will definitely be back, this place is close to home and I'm happy with my service. I got the "luxury" pedicure for $35, it included sugar scrub, paraffin wax, hot stones and hot towels, and all the rest of the basics. read more

The event i mentioned was a work trip and I came in the day after I got back to give you the opportunity to make it right. The 1st nail popped off the morning of my travels and the rest came off easily after that on the same day. I was fine to pay the difference and I understood the reasoning. I wish you would understand how insulting it was to be accused of taking them off just for a free manicure. The fact that my nailbed was fully intact and i had all the nails should tell u something went wrong with the manicure. It wasn't the money it's the principle. I hope speaking to me that way was worth losing a client over. I would suggest giving ppl the benefit of the doubt. It would have been worth taking a "risk", and at that point your worst case would have been "giving" a "free" manicure and never seeing me again. In reality, if you had just fixed the faulty manicure (for some unknown reason it didn't stick, sometimes things happen we don't understand ‍) you would have secured a loyal customer and seen me return several more times in the coming weeks for new/fresh manicures. Instead I've moved on to a salon with better customer service and my new dips have all lasted quite well. read more

My polish lasted about one week, where usually I barely get three days from my polish (I don't like gel). I rarely write reviews, but Mimi's was amazing! My husband and I came here for pedicures for date night. The cozy, intimate atmosphere makes you feel at home and not like you're just another person in a long line of chairs waiting your turn. Mimi did mine and her husband did my husband's. The bottom of my husband's feet have soooo much dead skin. We couldn't get over how amazing his feet look now! I told him that him and his friends should come here for "man time"! :) I didn't think the bottom of my feet looked too bad, but once I saw how they looked after, I realized they needed some TLC! Their practices on acrylic removal, buffing, and painting are not done correctly and I've honestly never left a nail salon with such a thick layer of paint on them. I went in with a friend to replace my full set of acrylic nails, and I was very disappointed. There was an older woman, her husband, and a young lady working there. The older woman went to work on removing my previous acrylics, but instead of soaking them in acetone or using any other gentle method, she just began popping them off using another fake acrylic and nail pliers. I've never been to a nail salon that uses this method, and it is VERY painful. She didn't seem to care, and she and the younger woman were very condescending when I expressed that I was in pain. (At least her husband was gentler with my friend.) The new acrylics that she put on my nails were also disappointing. Every time I would ask her to fix the shape and length, she would dismiss me and say that she was still working on them, and they never got fixed. Also, the younger woman stated working on my left hand while the older woman was still filing my right, which I didn't understand because my nails ended up being very uneven and asymmetrical. The paint job was bubbly, and after only 2 weeks with this set on they have started to peel up. Will not be going back to this salon. read more
