Cute shop with delicious food and drinks. Possibly the best cinnamon roll that I've had in my life!…read moreI would love to know how they make them seem like just the gooey inside! My group got a variety of coffees, teas, and pastries, and everything was delicious. Staff members were friendly, and the place was cute and very clean inside. I definitely recommend if you're in the area!

I ordered the Media Noche sandwich, which is normally one of my favorite Cuban sandwiches. I paid almost $17, and for that price I expected something really good. Instead, the sandwich was disappointing in both flavor and quality. I've had much better Media Noche sandwiches for a fraction of the price. Then came the café con leche--almost $7! At that price, I honestly felt like I was paying more than I would at Starbucks. For a Cuban restaurant and bakery, café con leche should be one of the things they absolutely get right, especially when charging that much. To make matters worse, the food kept repeating on me all day, which made the experience even more unpleasant. I don't mind paying higher prices when the quality, flavor, and experience justify it, but this simply didn't. Nearly $24 for a sandwich and café con leche that left me disappointed is way too much. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend Paladar Cuban Eatery & Bakery.

I absolutely loved their chicken soup. It had a lot of pulled chick pieces some red peppers bits…read more Some carrots would be good I didn't ask. I requested no nacho chips in mine, no sprinkled cheese and no salt. They said they use no oil in the soup which is great They don't use a microwave at all I didn't realize the soul would be in a sturdy plastic bowl and it was super hot. I typically don't mix plastic with really hot things but that was all they had. I would get it again and get it to go cold in a plastic take out container. Or bring you own bowl! I also had the veggie egg wrap. It was good but definitely say light on the cheese if you are conscious. Everything looked amazing and I will. Make it a regular spot to go to. It's over looks the beach in Flagler. They were super accommodating and I'm very fussy. I went back for dinner. Chicken soup without the nachos or cheese. Their other soup is supposed to be great too! Guavo turnover was fresh and delish. As was the flan, a touch of delicious alcohol taste. Very good. You can't go wrong with any of their food. Real food always tastes better. They now have a ceramic bowl if you ask

I opted for the Papa Relleno (potato balls) with a side of rice and beans, while my wife chose scrambled eggs and Cuban bread. The food arrived quickly, and I dove in first - WOW! The papa relleno was perfectly fried, with outstanding flavor. The black beans and rice were expertly prepared, and my wife raved about her eggs and the flavorful Cuban bread. We appreciated the clean bathrooms and outdoor seating area, which offered stunning, unobstructed views of the ocean across the street. We'll definitely return to try more dishes!

Visited Chicas quite a few times over the years. This time was a bit different than the other. We…read morehad a small wait for a table so we sat at the bar. While there we noticed a bartender Juan making drinks. I couldn't help but notice the time he took to make sure the presentation of every drink he made was perfect. I got to talking with the young man and asked if he knew how to make a caipirinha ( I am of Brazilian descent and it's like a Brazilian mojito) not only did Juan know EXACTLY what it was but he made it to perfection. Fast forward and we get called to our table only to find out Juan was taken off bar duty and he was our server. He took the best care of the party I brought to Chicas that night. Juan, hopefully you see this. Keep up the good work and continue to care about the work you do as you will go far in life.

We planned on eating at another restaurant during our day trip to Deland, but it was closed…read more Checked out Chica's on Yelp and it was a short walk (right downtown) so we decided to give it a try. It's in a lovely old building which apparently also houses a hotel - gorgeous wooden floors and a warm, inviting interior. Parking lot next to restaurant was full but there is free parking downtown just a block away. It was crowded at lunchtime and they had some big groups, so we had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. Our server (Maria?) was wonderful. I started with a caipirinha - not often on cocktail menus and it's one of my favorites - it was delicious!). Hubs and I both had the chicken soup and it was amazing - I would come back just for that. Hubs had the pollo à la plancha - the chicken was ok but the black beans were definitely the star! The tostones as a side were stone cold and very tough to chew - it was sadly our least favorite thing (and I LOVE tostones!). I had a beef empanada and a chicken empanada - they were ok.
