We have been here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and it never disappoints! Our favorite is the palomilla with a side of yuca fries!

Cafe Con Leche -- ABSOLUTE WOW…read more Okay... this place is AWESOME. Like already thinking about when I can go back awesome. I had the chorizo tacos....bold, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and honestly mouth-watering. He ordered the burrito, which came with crispy home fries, and we added a side of rice and beans to share (which was 100% the right call). Then came the pièce de résistance... Banana tres leches Holy. Smokes. Melt-in-your-mouth, not-too-sweet, rich without being heavy. The kind of dessert where conversation pauses because everyone is busy having a moment. The vibe: Not fancy. You order at the counter, grab a seat, and the magic happens. The people are so kind, the food comes out with love, and it feels authentic in the best possible way. Bottom line: Comforting, flavorful, crave-worthy food made by genuinely nice people. I'm already craving it again... and that says everything. This is the kind of place you tell your friends about...then bring them with you next time.

I went with yellow rice, red beans, and sweet plantains. My wife ordered the chicken combo with a side of yellow rice and yuca (her first time trying yuca!). The lady helping us (pretty sure it was the owner) was incredibly friendly and patient, guiding us through the menu like old friends. We paid, grabbed a table, and dug in. My wife took one bite of the rotisserie chicken and declared it the best she's had in ages--juicy, perfectly seasoned, and falling off the bone. No surprise there; we spotted those massive rotisserie ovens spinning away, so chicken is clearly their specialty! She then tried the yuca (boiled and crispy-edged, I assume) and loved it--said it was buttery and addictive. Her yellow rice had tasty chunks of different meats mixed in, and she couldn't stop raving about the flavor. I mixed my yellow rice (a different style from hers) with the red beans on the plate--pure comfort food heaven, rich, savory, and perfectly balanced. The sweet plantains? Outstanding. Caramelized just right, sweet but not overpowering, soft inside with that ideal crisp edge. Every bite was perfection. The place had a great vibe too--clean bathrooms, lively Spanish beats playing, and a casual, welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. We're already planning our next visit to try more dishes (that mofongo and rotisserie chicken platter are calling our names!). If you're craving authentic Puerto Rican BBQ and sides done right, Lelo's is a must-stop. Highly recommend--5 stars all the way!

The #1 Chicken combo and #3 Pork combo is always the choice, as plantains and yellow rice with sausage, so good and the servings are quite gracious for the price and value. It sure feels like I am back at Puerto Rico here, as the island vibe goes during my visit in 2019 as the peeps naturally are genuinely happy having a good time eating with famiia and friends-as they say 'Wepa' which means Awesome!

Their pics are on the wall and their story of the celebrities are on the napkin holders. Now you will find Puerto Rican rotisserie chicken - moist and tasty. Not dry! You will find other excellent Puerto Rican fare here - roasted pork, mofongo, trifongo, empanadas, alcapurrias, rice con gandules. We ordered a 1/2 chicken entree with sweet plantains. Our other entree is their pastelon. This is a must try. It's sweet plantain lasagna. Instead of noodles it's sweet plantains. Sweet and savory heaven here. You pick the two sides. I picked yuca with mojo(I ordered this for my hubby) along with it, sweet plantains. So good and so big and great price. They also give you some yummy samples - bread pudding and another pudding with coquito l. They also sell coquito which is the traditional coconut liquor drink to die for, served at Christmas Service is A+!!! Friendly, Helpful, Engaging!!! So glad we came here!!

What impressed me, was they forgot the green banana salad in my order and called me to tell me while I was on my way home. Soooo sweet of them! I will try them again! The arepas were perfectly crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The beans were simultaneously simple and complex. The sauce that comes with them was a perfect match. We got off the trolley at Stop 20, National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche, and were going to walk to the restaurant. Unbeknownst to us, there was no crosswalk to cross the busy Ponce de Leon boulevard. Mom isn't as spry as she once was so we didn't risk crossing without a crosswalk, so we had to walk another 1/4 or so to the nearest crosswalk then doubled back to the restaurant. Located in the The Ponce St. Augustine hotel, the restaurant is just to the left of the main doors. We had to wait a bit to get seated as the lone server had to clean a table first. Service was slow. I ordered the Bistec a Caballo (medium), my wife tried their Pork de Leon with fries and my mom opted for the Inca bowl. Did I say service was slow? Our orders weren't synched up. My order and my wife's sandwich were served first and we had to wait a few minutes before my mom's dish was served. My wife liked her sandwich and fries although she thought the shredded pork was a bit dry. My mom liked the flavors of her dish, with tender cuts of meat and smoky soy sauce flavor. The Bistec a Caballo had decent flavors BUT that steak was tough, even ordered medium. I felt like I was cutting through shoe leather cutting it with the serrated knife. Slow service and a tough steak bumped our rating down. We just couldn't overlook the quality and/or preparation of my steak, even with good flavors. Lunch for 3 came out to just over $67 with tip. Oh yeah, they add a surcharge for credit card payments.
