Croquetas

What can I say...it's was great we started with Croquetas which were good. Then we had Cubano sandwich, Vaca Frita, and Ropa Vieja. All were great eating..it came with black beans, rice,Cuban bread and plantains ...again all were delicious. Place is very small but clean and neat

Delicious food and great service. Cuban coffee was perfect... strong and sweet. I had the pulled pork platter that came with rice, black beans and plantains and my boyfriend and his brother had the Cuban sandwiches. We enjoyed everything followed by freshly made churros. I had their mango drink and it hit the spot. We will be back!!

I have visited a few times now. I like to try something different everytime. I've tried the pork, chicken and steak dinner plates. The desserts are good also. I've had eat in and take out. First off, the food has always been really good. I have yet to have something i didn't like. Well, the chicharon de pollo was not what I expected but it was good. My favorites are the pork and the steak. Great flavors and plenty of food. The rice and beans are good also. The prices are OK. Not too much for a bunch of food. The parking is easy to get in and out of but a bit tight. Back to the food. The pork was tender and tasty. The steak and onions was just as thought it should be. Very tender and good flavor. The service is always good. The guys at the counter is always pleasent. It may not look like much but these are my favorite kinds of hole in the wall. This place does not disappoint. You should try it. I recommend it.

We were so excited to find this little place. I had Mofongo with Shrimp and tostones. Absolutely delicious, fresh and perfectly seasoned. My son had the Cuban skirt steak. He said it was to die for! Juicy, flavorful and delicious. The Cuban coffee was spot on. It's a hour away from home, but will definitely be back

Chicharrón

My wife and I dined here for the first time for lunch and enjoyed it. It was good (not the best Latin food that we have ever had) and good size portions. We both got the pork chunks plate and an appetizer of Chicharrón. The pork chunk plate come with a very generous portion of deep-fried pork chunks with fried onions, large portion of tasty white rice, three tasty plantains, and a good black beans. We asked for and got some diced onions to add to the beans and with some hot sauce on the table, were very tasty. We enjoyed the taste of the pork chunks although they were not quite quite as tender as we are accustomed to with fried pork chunks but still good. The Chicharrón was very tasty and cut into bite-size pieces. Overall, we enjoyed and will be back and probably try the roast pork and pork chop plates.

Empañada de carne (beef empañada)

Best tacos I've had in a long time. The tortilla was fresh, the chicken was flavorful and loved the heaping mound of onion and cilantro. I also had the beef empañada that was probably the best I've ever had. I loved that the seasoning had a hint of sweet to it. For desert i ordered a guava and cheese pastry that was so delicious I ended up ordering 2. Service was quick and friendly and I love that it's family run and operated. I can't wait to go back and try the Cuban food.

I luv Cuban food. Tried this local spot. Ordered a shrimp dish with rice and beans and it was good but a bit heavy on the salt in the tomato sauce. Still edible and I did finish it lol! I will be back to try other options but for now my spot for Cuban cuisine is Cafe Con Leche. My favorite.

Mahi mahi cooked with onions, and served with black beans, white rice, plantains, and toasted bread

My husband and I stopped by this place for lunch while vacationing. The food here is so flavorful, and the portions are generous. I got the Mahi mahi and my husband got a Cuban sandwich with yuca fries. Our food was excellent, and the guy working was so friendly. We ended up buying a big slice of tres leches cake after we finished our lunch to take home (and it was also delicious). I highly recommend checking this place out.

When you first walk in their isn't a lot to see. An L-Shaped counter, behind which are some juice machine and coffee makers. You order here. Just to the left but out of sight of the counter is a small dining room that can seat maybe 20. We went on a Tuesday afternoon around 5 and the place was empty. A young Latino man took our oders and we went inside and sat down. We heard the lady cook in the back start on our orders. methinks this is a family owned and operated business. Our drinks were brought and not too long after that my Cubano came out and my wife's Fritters. The Cubano was delicious and authentic. Crispy toasted bread with chunks of roast pork, ham slices, the requisite mustard and pickles. Oh man I want to go back now and have another but I am still full two hours later. One of the best Cubano's I've had. I had the Ropa Vieja and it was the best tasting Ropa Vieja I have had bar none. That includes places in Miami also. Delicious. My wife had the Vaca Frita and said it was good but it wasn't quite fried the way she thought it would be. She liked my Ropa Vieja better and I had to agree. Spices were delicious. We were too full for dessert but this place is a gem. If you're in the area check it out. We drove from Palm Coast to Ormond Beach just to try it and we were not disappointed.

I went with yellow rice, red beans, and sweet plantains. My wife ordered the chicken combo with a side of yellow rice and yuca (her first time trying yuca!). The lady helping us (pretty sure it was the owner) was incredibly friendly and patient, guiding us through the menu like old friends. We paid, grabbed a table, and dug in. My wife took one bite of the rotisserie chicken and declared it the best she's had in ages--juicy, perfectly seasoned, and falling off the bone. No surprise there; we spotted those massive rotisserie ovens spinning away, so chicken is clearly their specialty! She then tried the yuca (boiled and crispy-edged, I assume) and loved it--said it was buttery and addictive. Her yellow rice had tasty chunks of different meats mixed in, and she couldn't stop raving about the flavor. I mixed my yellow rice (a different style from hers) with the red beans on the plate--pure comfort food heaven, rich, savory, and perfectly balanced. The sweet plantains? Outstanding. Caramelized just right, sweet but not overpowering, soft inside with that ideal crisp edge. Every bite was perfection. The place had a great vibe too--clean bathrooms, lively Spanish beats playing, and a casual, welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. We're already planning our next visit to try more dishes (that mofongo and rotisserie chicken platter are calling our names!). If you're craving authentic Puerto Rican BBQ and sides done right, Lelo's is a must-stop. Highly recommend--5 stars all the way!

The #1 Chicken combo and #3 Pork combo is always the choice, as plantains and yellow rice with sausage, so good and the servings are quite gracious for the price and value. It sure feels like I am back at Puerto Rico here, as the island vibe goes during my visit in 2019 as the peeps naturally are genuinely happy having a good time eating with famiia and friends-as they say 'Wepa' which means Awesome!

Our other entree is their pastelon. This is a must try. It's sweet plantain lasagna. Instead of noodles it's sweet plantains. Sweet and savory heaven here. You pick the two sides. I picked yuca with mojo(I ordered this for my hubby) along with it, sweet plantains. So good and so big and great price. They also give you some yummy samples - bread pudding and another pudding with coquito l. What impressed me, was they forgot the green banana salad in my order and called me to tell me while I was on my way home. Soooo sweet of them! I will try them again! This. Food. Is. Amazing…read more ...but like a flash in the pan; they're already gone. A cryptic message and off they go to greener pastures. What the hell is happening at Lokels Only that causes a brilliant and extremely talented Brown woman and entrepreneur to pack her DELICIOUS shit up and leave within one week of her grand opening? We may never know. Her announcement was professional and powerful... class act. For the record, the food was fantastic. I went on opening night and ordered two beef empanadas, two chicken empanadas, arroz con gandules, y platanos. The empanadas were perfectly crisp and not too hard and not the slightest bit soggy. Internally they were moist and seasoned perfectly. When I say they were the best Puerto Rican empanadas I have had in over a decade (last time was in NYC), I am not exaggerating. The arroz con gandules had the perfect chew and were seasoned well. I hate when there is too much cumin in the rice, and I hate when the rice is soggy. She has this down to a science. The fried platanos were perfectly sweet and CRISP on the outside, and just right in their softness (see: not overcooked and mushy, but also perfectly ripe to begin with. It was a pleasant experience, and the $30 spent was worth every penny. This is a huge loss to the Chinatown community and Krystal's presence and energy will be missed.
