My wife had chicken marsala which was fusion of Italians and Puerto Rican seasoning and again was delicious. It came in a huge portion along with black beans rice and sweet plantains. I had the chicken creole which again was a generous portion of chicken breast in a unique latin based creole sauce that was also delicious. The food and service has not been the same lately. The quality of our meal, like the steak was not as tender. And they charged us extra for the rice and beans which should have been included as side dish. We use to bring our church guests to eat here 3 times a year but will no longer. Got to Palermo right when they opened at 11a on a Thursday. Friendly service that was attentive but not overbearing. Plenty of parking outside and tables inside. Food came out fairly quickly and was hot and tasty. I ordered the fried pork chunks and also tasted the roasted pork. Both really flavorful. My first visit to Palermo was through a friend's recommendation. Food was excellent. I got the potato roll. It was hot and meaty. For the main course, I choose the rice and beans with cajun vegetables. I asked for hot sauce so how cajun were the veggies. For drinks, I had a pinot grigio and 2 presidente beers. Unfortunately, Palermo does not have a full service bar. Service on the other hand is slow. I had to signal my waitress to my table. When, she came to the table she said she was in a meeting. Meetings should happen prior to opening or closing. The restaurant is spacious and tables are very private. Palermos was not as busy as I thought it should be. However it is a nice family style restaurant. I can not wait to bring family or friends here. Spanish restaurants are not many and far between if not a mexican restaurant. The waitresses were friendly but I think the food outweighed the service which is a good thing. Im out to eat but would always love to get both, good food and excellent service. read more

This is my first visit on a recommendation from a Puerto Rican that eats here often and says they cook just like his Abuelita. My hubby is also Boricua and wanted to bring something home to him. On the recommendation I got morcilla, and rellenos de papa for my hubby. I ordered the beef empanadas. All were super delish. The morcilla has just the right amount of kick. I really enjoyed their version of the Puerto Rican Bistec (Bistec Encebollado or steak and onions) and the trio of empanadas. Everytime me and my family order the stuffed chicken breast with yellow rice and red beans with a side of trifongo. Genuinely my favorite meal I have ever had. The ambiance of the restaurant was very welcoming and its inside something like an enclosed mall. I ordered the catch of the day which was Mahi Mahi with garlic mashed potatoes and garlic sauce, everything was cooked perfectly and flavorful. My mom ordered the yellow rice and beans with a side of yuca fries and everything was great! For dessert i had the flan and it was so perfect, full of flavor and fulfilled my sweet tooth. It's been a while since I have eaten at a Puerto Rican restaurant, so while seeing Palermo as an option when visiting the area, I had to come and try it out, and glad that I did! The restaurant is quite big and nicely spaced out. The staff were welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. It took a little while for the food to come out, but not overly so (I hadn't started to ask myself where my food is) just something I noted. The food was delicious! My only critique is that the Pernil was maybe a tad too salty to my taste, but it was still very good. The rice and beans took me back to visits to Puerto Rico... Very good. The potatoes roll was surprisingly better than expected. Overall I definitely recommend Palermo, you won't be disappointed. read more

Another great evening at Palermo's! I know, I sound like a broken record, but you all have to stop by and try the genius they are. I won't talk about my all time favorite stuffed chicken with the goat cheese (I have left many love letters on it here on Yelp) tonight's star for me was the skirt steak, it was perfectly tender, seasoned and divine! The chimichurri sauce was a perfect complement for it but honestly the skirt steak could be enjoyed on its own. My husband loved the Mediterranean fish of the day (mahi mahi) he stated it was excellent and he is a seafood snob, so that's high praise) if at this point with all my reviews I haven't convinced you about this specific restaurant.. well the saying "you can lead a horse to water but can't make it drink it" comes to mind. I went on a Friday night, and I am happy to say the place had a good crowd post Covid, but still plenty of room for eating. My party's wait was very short which was a plus. The menu had so many wonderful choices, and they have a great web package to order take out, but this experience we dined in. The food was delicious. There were so many great items to try, but I decided to try the chicken. I know that may sound boring, but the owner came to my table and sold me on this dish. It was a stuff chicken which I normally would stay away from, but this chicken was fantastic. The chicken was so moist and the filling in the chicken was so savory.
