Chicken tortilla soup, cuban bread, fried yucca, rice and beans, chicken empanada, tostones, sweet plantains (everything is incredible)

This place is incredible! It's a cozy unassuming place right across from the beach. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We stopped in for desserts and coffee- cafe con leche (well made), flan (the best I have ever had, even in PR/Mexico), Coffee Tres Leches (delicious) and a guava and cheese pastry (warm and filled beautifully). These desserts were so delicious we went back the next day for lunch. Now lets get into lunch: rice and beans- great flavor, cuban bread- soft and huge, fried yucca- well cooked, not dry, tostones- crunchy and fresh, plantains- fried sweet plantains, sweet and caramely, Mexican tortilla soup- rich, soul soothing flavors, chicken empanada- stuffed with chicken, great flavor. Come support this amazing local gem! You will leave happy and full.

Cozy little spot directly across from the beach. Large menu, lots of options, and the desserts looked so good. Next time we'll grab one. We got the empanadas and guacamole. The food was fresh and the service was great. Great hospitality and welcoming environment.

I was so happy to find Cuban pork in Flagler! The portion size, price, and location were all good and I was pleased with the vibe, food, and speed of service! I'll be back for a Cuban sandwich in a couple of weeks!

This is a hard review because I'm having to compare to the area because As a coffee shop in general or Cuban cafe it's like 1-2 stars but considering the area and who they cater to it's like 3-4 but then I take the quality of flavor of the coffee and the traditional cafe con leche and it's just not there then I had a cortado and it was like lava which was to burn your taste buds so the actual flavor of coffee could not be tasted it was like a dirty water coffee. Even my Chicago friends didn't like and others preferred driving the distance to the Seattle coffee shop The croqueta was ok not the best but not worst. I was able to eat it. The tres leche apparently was amazing. I didn't try but my friends said it was what they would go back For. Also the sandwiches were ok from what I was told by others.

We generally make an annual winter pilgrimage to Florida to sit by the ocean. Part of this year's leisurely drive back to GA, we found the Dulce de Leche Cafe. It boasts authentic Latin cuisine (Cuban, Mexican) and is right on A1A. Parking is sparse, but it's worth it. This little gem has been open for about a year and based on comments from other diners, is the real deal. We put in our order and were startled by how quickly the food arrived. My order was the "Masitas de cerdo combinación" combo, DH had the Cuban sandwich combo. My pork was unctuous fried heaven that was expertly accompanied by rice beans and fried plantain. DH loved his so much looked up from his food once he started. I'd love for them to be open when we return next season, so I encourage you to go and give them a try.

Amazing little place! If you are ordering online for pick up please note that the restaurant does not receive the tips. Better to tip in person. We got the Ropa Vieja and the Masitas de cerdo (pork), both were amazing! Cute restaurant with a view of the ocean. Delicious and the staff is great! If we are back in the area this is a must visit.

We tried the Cubano. It was very good: the bread was toasted well, it had plenty of pork and was very well balanced. 7.5/10

I still remember my very first taco…read more It was 1971, just after I moved to East Gary, Indiana. I had made a couple of friends at school, and one day they took me to a small Mexican fast food place called Arman's. I had never had a taco before. I didn't even know what one was. They ordered for me. That first bite changed everything. It was spicy, full of flavor, and unlike anything I had ever tasted. I couldn't stop eating them. Back then, tacos were under fifty cents, so I went as often as I could afford. That taste stayed with me. Fast forward to a couple of years ago when I discovered A1A Burrito Works. I walked in, and to be honest, the decor didn't impress me. But I wasn't there for ambiance. I ordered two tacos to go and headed back to my car. That's where everything changed. I tried to eat while driving. That was a mistake. These tacos were massive, packed with meat, lettuce, and everything that comes with "The Works." I had to pull over just to properly enjoy them. And then it hit me. One bite took me straight back to 1971. After decades of eating tacos all over the place, these were the first ones that brought that feeling back. The same bold flavor. The same satisfaction. The same experience I never forgot. Since then, I don't go anywhere else for tacos. If you care about flashy interiors, this might not be your place. But if you care about real flavor, generous portions, and food that actually leaves an impression, this is it. For me, A1A Burrito Works isn't just another taco spot. It's a time machine.

We did have clam chowder minus the clams and bits of potato normally found in most every clam chowder. It was essentially a milky broth. The fish sandwich was good. Our choice of Mahi was a nice-sized portion-control piece that had no doubt been purchased and delivered frozen, but to be fair was cooked to our liking. And it came with a large serving of crisp tasty fresh fries. The french dip sandwich was also pretty good. Plenty of shaved meat and a nice pineapple slaw side was more than enough to satisfy us. No complaints unless you thought clam chowder actually oughta have clam and potato in it, or if you were planning to enjoy fresh FL seafood at the 'Turtle Shack'. Instead, enjoy the burgers and the wings and the portion-control fish sandwich and the french dip and ignore the mis-leading name out front.
