There were 24 people in our party at Mimi's in Folsom On May 7th. We had reservations and were seated promptly. Our waitress was Ashley. She was very helpful when we realized we would need more seating. Her service was excellent. The food was delivered promptly and without any mistakes. She checked on us regularly to make sure we had whatever we needed. And the food was delicious. I just wish we had one near us in Union City. read more

I used to love their food at Mimis Cafe but our visit Sunday was so disappointing. They did a good job social distancing but it was a wait. We didn't get our basket of bread, once we got to our table, our waitress spilled our drinks, and our food came out 10 minutes later but everything was cold. My husband is a Chef and I used to be but now an inspector, and I always go for the middle first. It was cold. Butter wasn't melted inside the Potatoes Au Graten and meatloaf was cold in the middle. My husband is used to tasting food so he just waited til waitress came by and told her our food was cold. 5 minutes later new plates came out but I couldn't eat the food anymore. It was still somewhat cold in the middle but the outlets were hot. I still tipped both the waitress and the busses. They were just doing their job. Hopefully no one else experienced the problem we had. read more

Just had dinner outside. Not many people (4 groups outside) maybe 3 tables inside. Service sucked. I felt sorry for our server as she was clearly rattled. No silverware, I had to walk inside for napkins. And again no silverware even when dinner was served. We asked for bread that was delivered after our soup was gone. Two small pieces of bread. Really? Also we ordered two special margaritas. Only to be told that they had run out of patron tequila and a worker left 10 mins ago to grab some. 25 mins later we received our drinks after asking twice about them. Please get it together. Have more servers available and tell the male manager or male worker standing at the bar on his cell phone the entire time to get to work and help others. read more

Filthy dirty bathrooms, booths, walls, hostess station littered with spilled over garbage right at the Managers feet. Thick coat of gooey dust on rail at our booth and some sort of old goo or soda all over the wall and picture. Plain old nasty. Tartar sauce looked like old jar of rancid mayo, yellow and gel like. Wilted green salad. Quiche "Lorraine" made with lunch meat ham, hot real ham nor bacon as indicated on menu, it was sour, inedible. (Not the good tart Swiss kind of sour; old, not properly refrigerated kind of sour. It's been several hours and I have not become sick to my surprise. Both me and my husband were expecting to feel the results of food poisoning when we left. So happy it did not happen. Our waitress was wonderful, attentive and understanding; too bad she is serving in what has become a pig sty. This used to be on our go-to breakfast spot for the last decade. Speaking of spots, this is a BIG BLACK SPOT on the good name and reputation of Mimi's. A shame. The manager should be totally ashamed walking around in all his restaurant filth and disgust . I love Mimi's Cafe! This was my first time at this particular location. It seems everywhere was super busy around dinner time. We called this place ahead of time to see how long the wait was. On a Saturday night the wait was only 15min! The service here is good. Our waitress was prompt and friendly. Always coming by to make sure we had enough bread and water. I had their 3 course Paris meal for $13.99. YUM~ -Corn Chowder -Butternut squash ravioli with shrimp -Brownie The corn chowder was so good. I usually get the French onion soup but the corn sounded irresistible to me. I have a thing for corn. The ravioli was a bit on the salty side, but very good. It came with much more shrimp than I thought I'd be getting. Yay! I had originally wanted the bread pudding, but they ran out of it so I went with the brownie instead. Yum~ Mimi's definitely knows how to do dessert! If Fat's or BJ's is ever too packed, try coming here! read more

Worst experience ever. This is not a restaurant I normally visit, but this group of my friends wanted to meet here as they thought the menu had "something to please everyone". The server kept talking. And I do mean "she kept talking". OY. She opened with "would you like tea or coffee?" and before we could answer, she went into a 10 minute +++ monologue on her personal life. We just sat there, listening to her story. This was incredibly uncomfortable, as we (friends) were trying to catch up with each other and....she kept on....talking. After her "introductory speech", she continued with these....incessant....constant interruptions. SEVEN TIMES during lunch. NO exaggerations. It was surreal. TWICE before we even tasted our lunches, she came over and questioned us. And then she kept interrupting - as we picked up a fork or a spoon. It was really intrusive, rude, and so very odd. I took ONE bite out of my sandwich, that was as far as I could get. As SHE. KEPT. INTERRUPTING. I left the rest of my sandwich, as it was served warm - and by the end of this interrogation session, it was quite cold. I asked for a container to take home my cold corn chowder soup, and she brought over a small styrofoam clamshell BOX. Really? I left the box and my cold soup. read more

The only place that I can say hands down best soups ever is Mimis. I am in LOVE with their corn chowder and french onion soups. When I was pregnant, I probably had a craving for their corn chowder on the daily, so if all else fails, definitely have a cup or bowl of their corn chowder. Their menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner are always good and pretty selective, prices are very fair. They offer lots of great choices and even light healthy choices for those who are counting calories. Their omelets are delicious, I highly recommend the pancakes, and you can never go wrong with their Parmesan crusted chicken. Orders are always prompt, piping hot and delicious! While waiting they also offer a bread basket of sour dough bread and their infamous carrot loaf which I highly recommend! This particular location always has excellent customer service. Servers are always attentive to your needs and wait times are usually pretty minimal. Great place for family gatherings or just lunch with a friend. read more

I've been here a couple of times and I've had the chicken dishes and they all tasted well. Delicious. Hubs and i have been back here 3 times in the last 2 weeks. It's our weekend breakfast/brunch joint. Also, Ashley has assisted us each time and she is incredible. You can tell she cares a lot about the customer experience because she was whisking all throughout the restaurant refilling coffee, delivering meals and condiments, along with the food and just being an overall joy. She also gets and sits customers. I can't say enough good about her. When the staff cares like that, you know the food will be good. read more

Though I know that I may have a different experience at another time, we had a poor experience recently. Took a while just to get seated. After we were seated, we heard one of the employees complaining about a previous customer. The bread was cold, no inquiry as to if we needed our drinks filled when they were empty until we were getting ready to leave, the fries tasted like they had been sitting for ever. The "5 way grilled cheese" wasn't very warm either and didn't taste like there was a variety of cheese. Also, prior to us being helped, the waiter was very curt and dismissive of the table next to us when asked a question about an item on the menu. Went for breakfast. The waitress who greeted us was warm and friendly as she seated us and briefly explained their new breakfast menu. Atmosphere: Relaxed, family-friendly, cozy. Clientele was a mix of all ages and flavors. Food: They have the standard breakfast items and combos. I must mention the blueberry muffins. They were so warm and moist when the were served to us and the taste was heavenly. The potatoes that came with my breakfast combo were too dry and bland for my liking though, Overall a good experience. Had not been to Mimi's for quite a while. What is with the meatloaf. Yuck, is how i would describe it. I Was expecting something comforting and more "home style" and instead got something that looked like a solidified pate that I would not even give to my Chihuahua. Lame! Waited 15 mins outside for waiter, went inside to remind them I was here. Never brought me a menu. 2 baskets of bread. Not working together! We had a poor experience on Thursday 6: We were seated right away but service was slow. 3 very loud ladies sitting nearby were seated after us and served before us.It took 15 minutes for someone to come to our table. This place is pretty close to our house so we stop in there periodically. My wife likes the corn chowder and the French onion soups. I like the jambalaya and their muffins. I got a seasonal pumpkin one today and it was pretty good. We have not really had a bad meal here. There is occasionally a wait during peak hours on weekends. We avoid those times. Their staff are ALWAYS pleasant and attentive. Their prices are a bit higher than we would like. read more
