We have a group that meets once a year and I needed a place that was large enough to accommodate at least 40 people without charging a fee for the private room, wiling to provide us with two servers, a variety of food choices, and willing to do individual checks. MiMi's Cafe checked all those boxes off the list. On the day of the gathering, the tables were set up and ready to go by the time the group arrived. Jacklyn and her other wait staff member provided great service as all the orders were correct, food was great, and everyone who attended provided back positive feedback. Mimi's Cafe is also located in the middle of Albuquerque as everyone was coming from different directions within the city along with those who traveled from out of town so it was easy to get to as it is centralized. The most common complaint was the chairs as they are definitely worn out and need to be replaced or repaired; otherwise, everyone loved the idea that it was a separate room to reunite with friends to enjoy the social hour. I ordered Mimi's catering for my baby shower and I had a mixed experience. I ordered it to be delivered through their online service- it was easy to order online and I found the pricing to be super reasonable for the amount of food I recieved. The pickup was contracted by Doordash, and when the order arrived the morning of the baby shower the dasher only brought fruit and utensils. I had to call the store, they apparently were aware of the issue but had not called me to let me know. The manager said they were working on another driver, but after an hour and no updates I called back and they still didn't have anyone so I had to send family to pick it up as the shower started. I didn't end up getting a refund on the delivery charge. Overall, the food was delicious, the price was worth it- but I would pick up the food myself instead of using their delivery services ever again. read more

Holiday feast to take home for our Thanksgiving gathering of eight guests. First of all I phoned in the order the Saturday before our dinner Nate took my order and was so pleasant . So On Wednesday we picked up our feast the lady that helped was very nice and her presentation of the feast was amazing going over all what was included in the feast and the instructions on how to reheat . The nice box that everything came in was surprisingly perfect . The meal was really good and our guests thought what a great deal on such feast ! We will be ordering our next holiday feast from Mimi's it makes it convenient when we are so busy in this world we live in today so we are able to enjoy a nice meal with family and not stress over it read more

Our Mimi's Cafes on the West Coast of FL have closed, so we were ecstatic to find one in our family's neighborhood in ABQ, NM! We ordered the bowls of corn chowder because they make THE BEST corn chowder. We have been hungry for it for years! No one comes close to their recipe. Inside is so much like the Mimi's Cafes in FL and California. We love the New Orleans, Louisiana, & Mardi Gras motif. The service is exceptional, and we were comfortably in our booth by the window. For dessert, I had the bread pudding. It was dense and a little dry. The sauce helped. Ice cream would have added made it less dry, too. Husband had another bowl of corn chowder. The wait staff was rude to a special interest political group that recently dined here. I'm assuming the wait staff disagreed with this political group's views and decided to interrupt their meeting and conversations. They then proceeded to clear their table and closed out the tickets and food without approval from the group. One server was so offended by this group that she slapped the phone out of someone's hand, committing physical assault, and got into a shouting match. The server was very professional. We liked him a lot. We were surprised that There were just a few people in the restaurant. We were there at 9 AM. I ordered a cappuccino, but received something else maybe a latte which was not very good. I ordered a quiche Lorraine, which on the menu said that it was homemade. The tart shell looked and tasted like cardboard. Clearly not homemade. The filling was not tasty. My husband got a breakfast sandwich which he thought was OK. I didn't complain because I didn't think I was ever going to get a good quiche Lorraine there. Mimi's used to be very good and very reliable. We had fish and chips which was cooked quite well crispy and light on the outside. The fries were crispy not soggy. We also had french pot roast. I met a met a long time friend that I had not seen in many years here for lunch the other day. We were on opposite sides of town, so Mimi's was sort of a mid-easy to get to location. I Ordered a Cobb salad $15.99 & water for my drink. My friend ordered the tomato soup and a Cobb salad. She loved the soup and said it tasted like marinara. I asked for a roll and we got a basket of 4 tiny thin slices of French bread & butter. Our very nice & attentive waitress brought our items out and the salads looked beautiful and huge. Only at closer look, mine had only a few tiny pieces of turkey, tasteless and watery diced tomatoes, crunchy bacon, and some crumbles of blue cheese. No eggs for me (yuck)! There was Just enough stuff in a thin layer to cover the enormous amount of lettuce. Oh, and a tiny amount of dressing served in a very small sauce boat. I ate less than half before the goodies and dressing were gone, and I had no desire to continue eating just lettuce. No, I did not want to take lettuce home. We always come for the French Onion Soup, and it is always delicious which is why I gave 3 stars however, the French fries were cold, and I asked for Two Carrot Muffins to go, and the waiter literally gave me day old muffins that were hard as a rock and tasted stale because they were ordered as to go next time I will ck the muffins before I leave. A literal, physical punch from a staff member. On camera. Witnessed. Verified. Forget bad service. This was full-on assault. And to make it worse? Dirty plates, eye rolls, and an atmosphere that screamed "You better eat fast before we swing again." How is this place still open? Yelp should offer hazard pay just for reviewing it. Our reservations for 9 at 4:00 p.m were not honored. We had guests in town for the holiday and had told them what a great place Mimi's was for Thanksgiving (emphasis on the "was"). We finally cancelled at 4:30, because we talked to others waiting for their 3:00 p.m. reservations who still had not been seated. It was a madhouse with upset people.
